The best approach to Oshkosh on the net. Very intense and well flown and the co-pilot did a great job making sure your flight was cleared of other aircraft, great job.
Great job! I've been watching your videos for years in preparation for my first flight up to OSH22. Thanks for the great content! You two make a great team! -RH
Thanks for watching! I’m happy the videos were helpful for you! I’m a weekly listener of your show too! It was fun hearing about your first official trip flying into OSH using the NOTICE. Thanks to OB I have a much better understanding of the NAS and how to more efficiently operate within it. Thanks to you and AG for the entertaining and helpful podcast! -TS
Great video, I like watching videos of pilots flying to EAA (that's what most of us locals call it). I'm not a pilot, just wondering if the altitude is 1800 feet 90 knots at Ripon? I believe the train tracks run along Highway 44 and looks like it would be a fun ride from Oshkosh to Ripon seeing the flight line. Gonna be at Airventure 2023? aka EAA.
Thanks for watching! The procedure for our type of aircraft is to fly up the railroad tracks from Ripon to Fisk (and ultimately OSH) at 1800ft and 90kts. I bet if you were somewhere along those tracks in that area the Sat and Sun before the show starts you could see a lot of planes! We plan on being one of them in a couple weeks for '23!
@@CaptScafe Thanks for replying, I was at Fisk Approach control last year. I just thought it would be fun to be driving down the road and seeing the planes flying into Oshkosh besides standing in one place watching the planes fly by. I'll try it. I'll be at Airventure 2023 1 or 2 days not sure what days, I have vacation at work that week so I can decide what day(s) to go. Safe travels to you and enjoy Airventure 2023.
@@carlwilliams6977 they need to respond as to why they both smiled at that request. I’m guessing that since they were a flight of three that their friends in the Comanche were not turning as quickly as ATC wanted them to.
When the tower said, "Cherokee turn your base", we laughed because #3 in our flight was a Beechcraft Musketeer (looks a lot like a Cherokee) and gets offended when ATC calls him a "Cherokee". It happens so frequently that it's now a running inside joke.
nicely done! you two are pros at this now. lol Your videos has helped to convince my wife to go with me to OSH next year for the first time and camp ( also her first time ) . She been on a few long X-country trips with me over the last couple of years and she's gotten to be a little more confident as a co-pilot.
Love it. Got my 3rd class medical after a 7 year ridiculous battle with the FAA. Flying to Oshkosh is a bucket list item. Hoping to make it these in a year or two.
It looked pretty straight forward, monitor correct freq, rock your wings, follow the plane in front of you, land on your dot! Question, it appeared some folks were cutting the line?? Oshkosh is a bucket list item, going to bring the RV (motorhome) next year and the RV7A the year following... cant wait! Thanks for the video.
A couple planes decided to begin the approach in a different place than what ATC designated as the starting point. The procedure is not too complicated if you read the NOTICE ahead of time and follow directions.
@@CaptScafe Thanks...it astonishes me that there are people up there with us who would fail to realize, and prepare for, a published approach where you have so many aircraft in close proximity to one another, especially with GPS routing and magenta lines! ATC should probably vector them around for awhile, something like "contact approach for sequencing..." How was the process for departing?
I would worry about a bunch of VFR pilots, some with dubious flying ability, following procedures (altitude, speed, visual checkpoints) properly and not mucking things up culminating in a midair.
Finally - one of these with NO MUSIC !! Great Job - Thanks.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Looks like I got there just a few minutes before you. I'm in the row just before you closest to the runway facing east. The red and white Arrow III.
Very cool! Maybe we can get a similar spot for OSH 23.

That was fun to see you guys do the "Fisk Arrival" again! You guys made that arrival look easy.
I'm glad you like the videos! Once you've done it a few times it becomes fairly simple.
Good Co-Pilot you got there. Very observant and calm as a cucumber!! Hope you had fun.
We did! It was a great week!
Good to see you guys back.
Great to see you guys back , watching from the UK. Hopefully will get over to Oshkosh next year, not been since 2006
Hope to see you there!
Are you here?
I enjoyed meeting you at Oshkosh. Loved the video. I hope you have one departing. Thanks for the videos.
Paul
Thanks! We enjoyed meeting you too!
The departure video will be out in a week or so.
That beep cutt tyem off top gunbstyle
I enjoy seeing your Oshkosh videos every time. Its like Oshkosh friends but on UA-cam.
Thanks! It seems to have become a tradition at this point!
Loved the way you both reacted to rock your wings and Comanche turn your base lol
What was funny about "Comanche turn your base"? (Non-pilot here, obviously!). I'm guessing Comanche shouldn't have had to be told?

Awesome to see fellow okies going to OSH. Y’all going to be at Dog Iron next week?
I hope to make it there!

Bummer, didn't get right channel audio until the end. Only left channel audio was on.
I'm working on that for future videos. Thanks for the input!
What a neat couple, love to meet them. Maybe one day I can make Oshkosh from galveston texas.
No time like the present! Maybe we'll see you at OSH 23!
Good job! I have more trouble following taxi directors than I do ATC at times.
Ok we have to buy a plane… can’t let you have all the fun
Owning a plane can sometimes be challenging but I still recommend it!
Entertaining.

That's certainly a concern.
Who are these idiots who keep stepping on FISK frequency?
