My heart is warmed by this video. I am so proud of Alina for her accomplishments and her father William for letting her do the flight.
Mark, Thank you for your thoughtful comments. What a great father and daughter combination. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
Sorry to rain on this indeed beautiful parade, but where are the safety goggles? Where is the helmet??!
One bad day in American trauma center can snatch away SOOO MUCH!
@@ilovegooogle5073 no chit, a bug in the eye, horrible, even worse, a wad of bird dung
Yea but she keeps talking independent and at this point being independent is not good when your thousands of feet in air its OK to have someone either on the ground or on your radio frequency. I just think its safer to focus on safety j/s
@@ilovegooogle5073 thank you for that i thought the very same thing.
Now that is called family support. What a great father Alina has.
Im 70 years old and been flying since i was 16. This has to be the most fantastic story/video I've ever seen. Congratulation to Alina and her father. I bet her dad was more worried and nervous than that young lady. Fantastic.
Mike, thank you for comments and support. Alina and her proud father William provide an example of what can be done to encourage more young people to pursue exciting careers in aviation. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
Kids are capable of much more then lots of adults are. Go Alina!!!
Ditto - I’m also 70 and learned how to fly at 16, and this story and video is one of the most uplifting I’ve ever known. I have so much admiration for both father and daughter.
Loved flying and happy to see this father and daughter work together so well in this common love of flying. My Dad and uncle Buddy wanted to fly but wasn't to be. I got to learn in my 40s after my 3 girls went off on their own and could afford it for a time. I Soloed in 2003 and flew weekends in A Cessna 152, 172 and A Piper Cherokee 180. Loved the freedom and views, especially in the early mornings. Then the recession caused some money issues and Mom got sick. Lifes hard times hit and havent got back to it but I still have the call to get back to flying. I miss it alot. I'm 67 now but know I could buy a 103 and pick it up like riding a bicycle. Have fun youa all and God Bless.
What an adventure that young lady had! Good on her dad with all of his support in her endeavors.❤❤❤❤
As a retired CFII, I think Alina’s Dad is on to something in his method of teaching her how to fly. Definitely flying the runway a few feet off the ground really teaches the student to modulate the controls to maintain that attitude. He had great baby steps as building blocks too. Great job Dad and great job Alina! There certainly is a lot to take away from this. Having a student who love learning and flying like this makes a tremendous difference too.
Uncle Dave, I could not have said it better ! As a CFII, you understand the instructor/student dynamic. William has a teaching method that works. It is especially effective for Part 103 solo pilot training. And it certainly is a bonus when the student is genuinely in love with learning to fly. Thank you for your input. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
@@WhitleyVideos Thank you for your comments. Even though the FAA practical test has us teaching to it, each student learns differently and adapting to those characteristics doing like William did with Alina allows for success and building confidence. She definitely has some natural abilities in eye, hand, feet coordination. Recognizing that worked well. Basically he taught Alina to take off and land first in those incremental steps. It’s a solo plane with no seat for an instructor to be there so she was getting radio guidance from Dad but the skill had to be learned by her “on the fly” to add a pun. He did say he took her up in the 150 to show what the view and maneuvers would be like. I would bet she has had the 150 yoke in her hands to at one time or another however this accomplishment in the Aerolite was a big tremendous leap. I like the way she appears very comfortable in her solo flight too. I hope other current CFI’s see these clips. Observe and learn folks! She has a great future if she stays with it! Edit:for punctuation.
@@UncaDave thank you again for your insight. Please share the video, your comments and the clips with other CFI's. Regards, Wayne Whitley
@@UncaDave when flying the 150...she did most of the work. I only took over when the cross winds were...ALOT. The 150 also was useful in teaching her stuff that I couldn't allow her to fail ..like spin recovery and engine out practice.
Again,
...Sorry to rain on this indeed beautiful parade, but where are the safety goggles? Where is the helmet??!
One bad day in American trauma center can snatch away SOOO MUCH!
Bad landing in some bushes can take away an eye!
WHY than???
And as we all know most AMERICAN general health insurance plans exclude coverage of bad outcomes for pilots or even motorbike drivers.
Her parents must be so proud of her. A 14yo showing a level of maturity that you don't see in a 25yo. Wish her safe flying and a wonderful life in the air. ❤
I so impressed by this father daughter team. The courageous young lady and the nurturing father. Touches the heart, I’m sure the natural born flyer has an amazing and fulfilling life of adventure and accomplishments ahead of her. You are both wonderful!
Great video, Alina! Nowadays, pilots all want ro fly higher and faster. They’re totally missing where the REAL fun is… 300’ over the treetops at 40mlph in an open cockpit. Nothing better. Congrats, Alina… you go, girl!
So epic!!! Congrats! That’s an adventure you tell your grandchildren about.
A story like this gives us hope for the future.
I just can’t say enough. Excellent job!!!
David, thank you for your support. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to help tell this inspiring story. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
Damn! I've been flying for 30 years and thought I'd heard everything. You are very impressive. This is a very big deal that you may not fully appreciate. Fifty years from now you are going to look back at this with an amazing sense of pride. I have no idea how your Dad survived the stress!!! Keep on flying, Alina!
That is so on point. When you become old (as I have at 64), you are still very happy, for living your dreams when you were young. Yes this story blew me away. I loved it!
That was awesome. I couldn’t imagine my baby girl doing this at 14. The maturity and knowledge she shows at her age is awesome. She will be an inspiration to so many young pilots.
I love your knowledge, skill, courage, stamina. Flying ti Oshkosh in any bird is gutsy. Well done.
This is an Amazing Story. That isn’t easy to let your kid loose to fly across the country. What a great Father and Daughter Team
WOW WOW WOW !!! I started flying at her age and it brought tears to my eyes.... what a fantastic young lady! (and well done Dad)
Very exciting yet informative and encouraging video......personally, this is encouraging for me to know what to expect. Thank you!!! 🤙🇺🇦🤙
I'm absolutely impressed with your teaching methods, as well as Alina's patience in taking what you're instructing her to do and putting them to use. Awesome video all the way around. Good on both of you!!
What an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME EXPERIENCE. She WILL NEVER FORGET. What AN AWESOME DAD you are to give her this opportunity!
Alina... you've lived my dream! I'm 64 and have had the flying bug since I was a small boy. However, life never permitted me to get there. I fly RC models but dream to get into the sky myself, like my father.
Such great footage! Congratulations on your success as a pilot, and best of luck in your future endeavors!
Thank you for that most exhilarating journey! YOU ROCK GIRL!
Same here Steve, except I am 70.
Don’t just dream Steve. You too could get an Aerolite 103 and learn to fly just like she did. Training with a good instructor, yes, but no license or medical required. And the cost of this kind of flying is actually very reasonable. Go for it man!!
Super Dad. Trip of a lifetime that will never be forgotten and Dad was there the whole time. Cool story.
Outstanding team.
What an incredible pilot.
So proud of her as an inspiration to other young people to fly reminiscent of Amelia Earhart! I am an Air Force vet and can see her flying F-18's in a few years! Alina defintely has 'The Right Stuff' the Air Force look for! Clear skies and tailwinds Alina!
Super impressive girl!! I would be nervous about flying into that busy environment and I'm 50+ At 14 that's just amazing and full marks to her dad for giving her the confidence and space to believe. Outstanding all round...
I loved the video, I grew up in Cookeville, Ten in the 60's, learned to fly in an Aeronica 7ac champ in 1961. Just looking at your flight plan to Osch kosh air adventure, looks like she flew very close to Cookeville, Tn. I enjoyed her other videos also. Wished I could have had an experience like that when I was growing up, I did get my photo with the 7ac champ put in the local paper because I soloed the champ before I got my drivers licenses.
Learned in an 65hp champ in the early 60's too.

What a treat.
Awesome video! Alina I have nothing but admiration for you, Ultralight flying is real flying and teaches you how to really fly, your Dad is a fantastic dad to teach and let you do this, well done and congratulations to you both! Dx
Miss. Scott, Great story of determination and patience. Set your sights high, you can achieve any goal.
Mr. Scott, Good job.
Amazing and wonderful. Really wonderful.
I've been following her videos for a little more than six weeks now. I am so proud of her and her Crew Chief Dad, her mother and support group. Aim High, Alina. May God's angels forever be your wingmen.

You can tell she had one of the best trainers in her corner!!! Fearless and cautious in the same sentence!!! Well done!
What an amazing young pilot.
Amazing !!! You have a new follower of your advertures Alina.
We need lots more youngsters like this wonderful, skilled young lady. She's a jewel, alright! From one dad to another Bill you are a great example of conscientious, loving father.
thanks
Bill, you are truly awesome. I am 68 and planning on getting an EV103. Could you offer any suggestions on what equipment I might need, communications, etc.?
Great job to you and your daughter.

@@williamh.scottv438 Thank you so much for your input. I can’t say enough praise for you and your daughter (entire family) for your accomplishments…I wish you all the best.
What an awesome story! As a father of 5 children ive always told them to blaze their own trail. My youngest son is 17 and in flight training, i am going to definitely sharing this with all my children
We saw Alina flying in the KOSH ultralight area and were impressed. How fortunate she to have such focus and motivation at the age of 14. As my flight instructor used to say many years ago, "Keep 'er flyin.".
I love the mou’ans in that part of the country! Great accomplishment!
I'm totally fascinated by the sheer joy of freedom and blessing this brilliant young lady can enjoy by having an awesome instructor/father and living in a country where you can have your kid fly her plane into the busiest airshow. Kudos!
She. Is. Awesome!!! Wonderful father too 😊
Thankyou Brave, Beautiful Lady, for bringing us along on your Adventure.
As a father of a daughter- tears of joy. What a wonderful duo💪🏽
What a talented young lady .
Fearless! This young lady will do amazing things...
What an amazing young lady. Kudos to dad for his support.
What an awesome young lady and a great dad as well.
This journey is so inspiring. If you dream, and then get off the couch and do it, you can make it happen.
It sent me back in time... It also made me glad, as an old man, almost 65, I first took flying lessons in airplanes, dreamed of flying a helicopter, took two weeks off work, got a PPL in helicopters...keep dreaming, switched from Air Guard to Army Guard, sent my packet off and went to U.S. Army flight school. Got a com./inst. helicopter ticket...later on one Army Guard AFT I actually got to fly with Vietnam Veteran helicopter pilot, Perry Parks that was still in my NC Army Guard unit, and he is the examiner that gave me my check ride for my PPL in helicopters 3 years earlier. He did FAA check rides as a part-time job. That was so unreal. Sending love from the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
Just awesome! Well done father and daughter! What an adventure!
Great story. Looking at her videos, Alina has become a competent pilot.
The trip to Oshkosh is a big deal for a 14 year old. That's a special young lady. 🙂
What an inspiring story. Amazing young woman.
What an incredible story. That is one mature young lady. What a supportive Dad. Great job teaching your daughter and letting her FLY.
Such a joy to watch Alina's story. I so enjoy positive stories featuring young people. With an attitude like hers, I know her future is limitless. ❤❤❤
Wow your a, HERO, GOD BLESS YOU,
Hats off to Alena and dad. What a team! Great video production.
Very cool!! Definitely wear that eye protection while flying. My airplane is a closed cabin but I made the mistake on my motorcycle of not having eye protection. A small bug can take you out real quick!
Great job you guys! The 103 looks like a blast to fly!
@FLY-wy2yi, Thank you for your comments and important advice about eye protection. The Aerolite 103 is a very special aircraft and a joy to fly. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
Great video. Alina is amazing... Nice her father was talking us through her journey.... I remember the mosquitos were huge in wiscoson when I worked there from the UK...
A true testament to a great and patient father. Great job.
Good way to teach! Keeps from getting overwhelmed with information & you develope a more natural instinctive reaction to what's going on. 👏👏👏
Wow! great job Alina, keep up the great flying sweetheart!!!

The recorded flight over the Oshkosh event was an eye opener. I never knew it was that huge of an event.

Wayne I really enjoyed the video you made about the young man that flew to Oshkosh, but Alina is such a natural and looks like she really enjoys flying. I'm amazed at her confidence and skill in piloting over a thousand miles and she is destined for a career in aviation. Simply amazing Alina, we are all very proud of you and continue your adventure as the "sky" is the limit.
Richard, Thank you for your support. I have had the privilege of filming both Henry and Alina Scott showing their skills and maturity flying their Aerolite 103 to Oshkosh. This is a fine example of an aviation family affair. Best Regards, Wayne Whitley
It's awesome to see young people now getting interested in aviation and the Aerolite 103 is a great way to introduce many with lower cost. Both Henry and Alina have bright futures ahead and I wish them success ! Thank you for your dedication and it would be great for follow up videos on both.

Two thumbs up for a terrific video of an aero adventurer 1st Class. Alina is a member of a very small group. All of us old guys who watched were as proud of you as was your dad, if that's even remotely possible. Dad needs to get a 2nd ultralight so the two of you can share the adventure on camping trips and such. Then again, maybe dad will transition you to the C150!
Wouldn't be as much fun as this thing!
I had the honor and pleasure to 'waive' and 'launch' Alina while volunteering at the KOSH grass field. It's an awesome story and she's an excellent young pilot. Blue skies, Alina!
Another GREAT story about a visionary person from South Caolina!. Well done and thumbs up to all the logisitical support!
Congratulations for this terrific accomplishment!

She is an inspiration for all kids and her father is a hero for all of us dads. I hope to one day raise my children to be as brave and capable as he has raised her to be.
Awesome that she is young and eager to go out there a fly freely as a bird.
Great video and amazing. Thank you for sharing and hope that more girls her age will have the same enthusiasm as her. Great inspiration to others.
