    I’m an air traffic controller so I appreciate the departure controller’s sense of humor about OSH.
    I have two goals in life
    1. Work Airventure from the tower
    2. Build an airplane and fly it to the show

    I couldn't quite see the tail except as you rolled back upright but it looks like there was a little opposite rudder (Dutch roll)? I can see the right aileron alright. Full deflection!

    • @SpreadAviation
      @SpreadAviation  Рік тому

      Opposite rudder certainly wasn’t intentional. More like insufficient rudder for the rate of roll. Not perfect, but still a good showing.

    • @SpreadAviation
      @SpreadAviation  Рік тому

      Looking at it again, it’s a right roll with right rudder. You may be seeing the rudder horn which provides aerodynamic balance during rudder deflection. It is in front of the pivot so it moves opposite of the rest of the rudder.

    Just found your video, thanks for sharing. I like watching videos of pilots flying to Airventure (some of us locals call it EAA) and listening to some of the ATC's at Fisk, sometimes get some good ones. I'm not a pilot, but I get a copy of the notes or notices from EAA website. Just wondering are the planes from Ripon to Oshkosh at 1800 or 2300 feet? Looks like the train tracks a along side of Highway 44. If so, looks like it would be a fun ride on 44 to see the flightline. Gonna be at Airventure 2023? aka EAA.

      @SpreadAviation  Рік тому

      Hi thanks for the comment. There’s two altitudes. 1800 and 2300 and there’s two speeds 90 and 130 respectively. Slower airplanes are lower. Sitting at the side of the road while airplanes fly by would be fun. You could also get really close to the ATC facility where they’re directing us. Im am not a pilot and obviously your wing rock was enjoyed by all (including tower). But I am curious, 91.303 defines “aerobatic flight” as “an intentional maneuver involving an abrupt change in the airplane’s attitude not necessary for normal flight”. Is a hard, 90 degree “wing rock” like that technically considered aerobatic flight? You mention aerobatic flight would be allowed at that time and place, so it would be fine. But I am just curious if a maneuver like that would be allowed whenever.

    • @SpreadAviation
      @SpreadAviation  Рік тому

      Also that reg says “not necessary for normal flight”. There has cases tried in the past where airplane performed a maneuver perceived by the inspector to be an aerobatic maneuver, but when it went in front of the FAA they determined that for the operation that was being conducted, the maneuver in question was not unnecessary.

    What is the orange pad on helmet??

    • @SpreadAviation

      It’s a visor protector. I had the sunglasses on so I didn’t need the visor.

    Nice video, loved it. Watched it while listening to arrivals 2023. One question, is the orange forehead pad to prevent the helmet scuffing the canopy?

      More to protect the visor. I had the sunglasses on so didn’t need the visor.

      @@SpreadAviation sorry for the confusion, I didn’t mean you, was referring to all of the bonanzas and RVs controller was talking to up there. I’ll give an extra300 a pass. 😂. I have the same issue in the champ, I literally can’t go 90 knots…

      Yeah if it’s a high wing it’s a Cessna, low wing an RV, maybe you can fly the Warbird arrival.

    With this kind of ATC mess I would just divert to a nice quiet non-towered place and go get some wings, I mean, buffalo wings. And reflect on what saint of a man is dating those tower ladies…. That’s some serious nagging!

    It would of been better had you not started playing that ridiculous elevator music around 16 minutes the whole point was to hear atc and see your flight and landing into oshkosh

    • @SpreadAviation
      @SpreadAviation  Рік тому +1

      Yeah. Except the camera recording the ATC audio died so I figured ridiculous elevator music was slightly better than silence or prop noise.
