That Denny Dias guitar solo is actually an electric sitar. First song on their debut album, pretty impressive career starter. For me, one of the intangibles of Steely Dan music is its ability to remain "timeless". Sure, Do it Again is very 70's, but like all of their music, it never feels stale or dated. I've heard this song hundreds of times, and it satisfies every time. Thanks for the great review!
Thanks for sharing that insight about the electric sitar-Denny Dias certainly brought something unique to their debut. I agree, Steely Dan's music really does have a timeless quality. Even tracks with a strong '70s vibe, like "Do It Again" Glad you enjoyed the review, and thanks for watching!
I still remember hearing this for the first time, and was just struck at how unique and cool SD was here. Their first album? Get out. They're incredible, and come with such a wealth of talent. Compare it to todays garbage. You're talking Mensa graduates here vs grade schoolers. It's just nuts.
@@erikbroek Very cool sound indeed. This first album is insane. I hear you about todays music. If Taylor Swift represents the pinnacle of modern music, we are indeed doomed 😂
