Yes, I find borax crystals tend to form a bit smaller. These large crystals are cool. I love making crystals although it’s been a while since I made some last. With the borax, I found that by keeping the solution warmer longer, by draping a towel over the container to insulate, more crystals grew. This for sharing
Love it. Hmmm… wondering if the solution can be ever so slightly tinted with food coloring (or inks) so colored crystals can be grown. Can’t wait to see what you do next!!
New subscriber here. This is the second video of yours that I watched. I just stumbled across your videos. I have never seen such a thing! I did not get to do this in school as so many claim. I have to ask myself where have I been all my life? LOL. I cannot wait to try some of these amazing works of art. Thank you!!!! Blessings sent from Grandma Gia in the Ozarks
This turned out so pretty. I remember making rock candy when I was a kid. Such beautiful crystals. ❤❤
My Grandma used to make us rock candy and string it on embroidery floss to make us little bracelets and necklaces ❤
You have the best video on doing the crystals I have searched hours to learn and keep coming back to you!
Julie, that's so cool. You can also do this with borax. If you just stick a string in it, you'll get a string of crystals, and you could use for the edge of your molds.
I’m over here screaming, put something a tiny bit heavy on the sticks to hold them down but you always find a way ❤
You should get a soda cup lid maybe that would work to help keep it from wanting to move. Not sure but it might. Lol😂
Punch a hole in plastic lid. Put stem in then once over liquid tape the side down
Oh, what a fun project to try with the grandchildren! That's beautiful....
I found the same is true for gelatin also . Needs to be hot water, stir until dissolved, then microwave to dissolve the remaining powder
OMG THAT IS AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL!! I had gotten some Alumni powder to make some crystals. Haven’t tried yet, but WOWZERS 😮😮😮 I even have some of those roses. SCIENCE NIGHT 😊😊😂😂
me too. Im going to do it
Tammy: Where did you get those roses please!
@@callimedved9189 found them on Amazon. They are exactly like hers but holographic. They have multiple colors available
You are such a sweet lady 💕. I really enjoyed watching your video. 😊 This is my first time coming across one of your videos. I'm only sorry that I haven't before. I'm going to subscribe for more of your videos. I look forward to seeing what you do. I'm also going to check out your previous ones right away. Thank you for sharing your ideas and especially in such a sweet and happy way. May God bless you my dear.😊
Stand it up in a piece of styrofoam to dry. It turned out fabulous! 👏👍😊
So cool! I've seen Michelle from Glitz n Glitter do the borax crystals, and I have a feeling you're going to love the results you get with borax! But I'd not yet seen anyone do the alum powder ones, and this is certainly impressive! I can't wait to see you make more crystals in general! So fun to watch and can feel your excitement as well :)
Julie you are so creative. This is beautiful.
So neat! Your compressor scared the heck out of me too! I was watching with ear buds in and i woke up my husband and said WHAT WAS THAT??? he fell asleep right away again thank fully
Oh my goodness, Julie! I have never seen such huge crystals! Those are gorgeous! How fun is this?!? 😍👍😊
Thats awesome
This is so awesome! I can’t wait to see the other video with the borax to see if you get smaller Druid like crystals! I think the smaller crystals would look gorgeous with this rose! 😍
So interesting. I haven't seen this done. Something to research and new to try. Thank you for sharing.
So cool and YESSSSS I would love to see you make more!!!!
These crystals turned out gorgeous Julie ❤
I remember making rock candy and sugar crystals in school. So did my kids when they was in school.
I found wrapping the jug with a couple of layers of foil and a lid of foil kept the solution hotter longer. Just a tip 😊
Pretty! I didn't do this alum crystal growing in school. 😢
I've played with the borax crystal making lately with success, I think. 😉
You do have to clear coat them before making a mold, and the molds turn out amazing! I've made several just playing around. 😁
9:29..... It would do a world of good to use a pipe cleaner to anchor the flower to the handle of the measuring cup. It would give you a steadier control of the movement of the flower as well as preventing the flower from lowering to the bottom while you work out your sticks ....
My daughter in law home schooled their son, and they used Borax powder and pipe cleaners and made Christmas decorations as a science experiment a couple of years ago. I still have some of them. A lot of the crystals fell of of some of them, but they are still beautiful and very special to me.
thank you for sharing your journey!!!
I remember doing this at senior school. You can use copper sulphite powder, too. I think you can colour the solution if I remember that far back. They are beautiful Julie. Thanks for the memories. I wonder if they can be set in resin? If they could, that would preserve them because if I remember rightly they do eventually dissolve.
You could seal them ❤
Not too sure about this one but I'm going to watch the next one. I love the idea and am excited to see the next try. Thanks so much for the idea & your process!
You should put it in a caseing like a beauty and the beast type style
Wow, that's very cool and pretty. They look awesome on the iridescent flower. xoxoooxoxo
Thank you for sharing. They turned out nice. Can't wait to see how you fine tune this
I grew my alum crystals and turned them into diamonds but that video is somewhere on UA-cam. Love this video.
look into getting a claw clamp holder stand... that can hold ur items for u... u may have to have someone make one...
Very cool. I saw this also on another channel and me and my granddaughter are going to try it. Thanks for showing.
Thank you Julie! What an exciting experiment! Lovely results.❤looking forward to seeing more! ☺️💐
Beautiful!! I love the crystal making video!! 🫶
This was great! Can't wait to see more! And for the record, I call them pipe cleaners...cuz that's one of the many ways I use them. 🙂
Absolutely stunning!! I wonder how the rose would turn out if you left it right side up in the solution. I think it would change the look a good bit but still be just as beautiful. I can't wait to see more crystal videos from you!!
I have never heard of this before. How curious. Very interesting. I was very shocked about pipe cleaners not being called pipe cleaners any more. Thats annoying. And i almost went through the roof when the compressor came on hahah. Such fun.
I was alittle curious to see how this would turn out and ta da,would you look at that,oh my goodness how pretty are they,it worked really well.
So pretty,I really enjoy watching you create your art works. Thanks for showing and sharing.💐👍💗.
I never had the fun to make crystals at school, looks like a lot of fun ❤😊
This turned out really pretty. Love the contrasting colors on the flower.🌹
I saw them do that, but with only Borax and they came out great...
I remember doing these as a kid but I’m really enjoying these experiments!!!
You have so much patience. Mine would have been thrown across the room!
Very cool! I love the idea of a “seed crystal”, to grow larger ones!👍🏻😃
I can understand how difficult it is to create a perfect crystal. I have made it with very mixed results... This rose is very beautiful with the crystals on it... They are pipe cleaners here...
This is so cool!! I've only done sugar crystals. ❤❤❤
So beautiful ❤
Definitely going to try this one Julie thanks for great video 👍
Going to save this video for later to watch it all. I'm curious in trying to make my own crystals someday
Love it Julie. Ive been doing different things with the roses but that is amazing
It's pronounced A-LUME-A-NUM That turned out beautiful 🤗🌹
In the USA yes, but overseas it’s pronounced how Julie says it.
I did some purple crystals on styrofoam about a year ago. I just love growing crystals. So fun!!
Those crystals are beautiful.
Wow - those crystals are amazing!
Fantastic experiment 😮! Thanks so much for sharing this technique.
This is You grew some huge crystals in no time! Can’t wait for the borax crystals.
Maybe if you weigh the same volume of plain water then weigh the water / solution that’s leftover you can then add more aluminum sulfate to equal your weight recipe at the start. The plain water shouldn’t weigh the same as the leftover solution. So the extra weight is alum .
Try doing this with Borax wash poweder if you can get it there. Sorry i dont know exact recipe. I made ornaments with this and the crystals were small, covered the whole surface. 🤗
Oh I so remember doing this in school too. Turned out amazing. ❤❤❤
Awww..so much beauty and fun.
Love your experiments ❤😊
How pretty. 💖 This turned out so nice. 💗
Amazing 🤩
First time I watch some like that. Thanks a lot and I'm subscribed to. ❤
Brilliant! I cant wait to try this! Thank you so much Julie 🌹
Thank you
Oh my goodness, amazingly gorgeous 😍
So cool!! Very pretty!
Amazing just beautiful 😮😍
Beautiful! Thank you, Julie!❤
Aw every time i watch your channel, just you saying good day makes me smile, your energy is just beautiful ❤ i know how ot os with your daughter moving out so many times lol. Its harder for our kids these days. Great to hear the doggo's chatting ❤ I had a crystal garden kit my dad bought me as kid and it was the best present ever (next to my microscope) (yes i was a nerd) im definitely trying this at some point. Thank you
I think that the smaller Borax crystals would look stunning on this type of rose. 😍 The huge ones on this one are a bit much for my tastes but still really pretty. 😅👍
Very cool.
Love it!! It's mesmerizing!!❤❤❤❤
The worst part is they are called pipe cleaner's because plummers and air duct specialists use industrial made ones in pipes or ducts 😅
The small ones are used to clean smoking pipes. 😊
Absolutely beautiful
Awesome Video 😊
I was amazed how much they looked like real quartz crystals.
Very Nice
Those are gigantinc crystals!!! WOW
Wow - Just amazing process!
Science is amazing! 😻 so beautiful!
Thank you for sharing, we have a popcorn rock we started on Valentine's day.
Beautiful julie
Would love to see a video on growing crystals for making druzies.
Absolutely gorgeous
Very pretty
Wow... Very pretty !! 😍❤ Congratulations and thank you so much, Julie @Pouring Your Heart Out. 😍🌹❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙋♀️🇨🇵🫂🫶
That is neat
Omgosh ❤❤❤❤ it !! Stunning!!
I loved this video! I’ve always wondered about this. Thanks so much for sharing what you’ve learned so far ❤ Can’t wait to see what happens with Borax. There’s a place a couple of hours from us where you can go hunting for Geodes. I want to go as soon as it’s warm enough. Your Crystals are beautiful!
I got so excited I was telling the screen “ Scissors Julie, scissors……just cut the dern thing off. I wanna see!” 😅
Lovely.❤❤❤❤
So beautiful
If you have a coffee/tea warmer, you could keep your water hot.
Hey Julie! Wow, how cool is that...they're so pretty. Will adding some type of color to the solution inhibit the crystal growth? Making different colored crystals would be so gorgeous. Can't wait to see the next experiments!!
You can definitely add colouring
@@PouringYourHeartOut That's great news, thanks Julie!
Very cool... beautiful crystal formations ❤
oooh so pretty ! :)
Pretty
WOW!!!🤩 🤩🤩 That is INCREDIBLE!!! 🤯🤯🤯I’ve always wanted to know how to grow crystals and I can’t wait to learn more from you!!! I’d also really love to know where you got that amazing rose? Ps. The air compressor made me jump too 😅
