- Because of COURSE my first proper walker would move like It's had too much rum, because of course. Glory to the Lathrixian war machine, guns, rum and more guns!

Yeah the music is a bit too loud in the first few clips, no idea how that actually happened.. I swear It was just the walker that was drunk, I swear!
LathStep muzik
The music is good
ASHES OF THE EMPIRE BUT YOU CAN ONLY USE MECHS, ANY MECHS BUT ALL WALKING NO TANKS OR TRUCKS
The shambler kinda walks like a cartoon character
Did you feed the editor Khorneflakes rum instead of milk? I think that's what happened.
I'm still laughing at the turretcap launching itself in the air to avoid a Cram Shell
Fr 😂😂
So i just checked and you can set the distance on docking station via ACBs 👀
genuinely laughed with tears at that!
_AND IT WILL COME_
_LIKE A FLOOD OF PAIN_
He honestly should keep that as is, amusing and useful at the same time xD
Thing with munition warners - they don't have infinite spotting range, and CRAMs you were testing against had flash suppression barrels which severely reduces their detection range. Same goes for missiles, though you can detect them from MUCH further away with passive radar - provided that it's radar missiles that are being fired at you.
I think this shows that taking long breaks from FtD is not a great thing! I used passive radars a LOT in the latest adventure mode playthrough and just completely forgot about them when recording this!
@@Lathland You also don't need an AI connection for Munition Warners anymore, you can just slap them down anywhere with vision out of the vehicle. Same for anything else in the Defense tab when it comes to AI.
As time goes on, people are learning how to make these clampy walkers faster and faster... I'm looking forward to the supersonic ones. 😃
Great vid as always, Lathrix! I recommend calling this craft the 'Jaywalker', 'cos it walks like it doesn't give a damn.👍
One thing that might help- for an animal (or spooky drunken robot in this case) that relies entirely on walking and has no air time in its fastest gait, longer thighs than shins let them swing their legs further and thus speed them up. You can see this in animals such as elephants, long-necked dinosaurs and stegosaurs!
For something with airtime (ie can run rather than powerwalk), it'd be the other way around, with short thighs and long shins. Making a biped walker that can get airtime would be a tad hard, but perhaps hopping on two legs or bounding on four legs could work? In real life animals often use tails as a counterweight to help them turn, but judicious application of PIDs and thrusters might be easier in FtD. (there is no way in which making a kangaroobot in FtD is a bad idea)
no sicience today please
But a kangaroo bot wouldn't be able to use its 3 weapons, its tail, its kickboxing and its boxing

Great explanation!
When we needed him the most he returns, from the depths that is this game. No phun intended. ;)
I love this pun, its so poorly structured that its beautiful, but this pun could have been structured so much better that i must bring it up so you may recreate the pun to the best quality possible
"When the world needed him the most, he return... From the depths. _Which is also a game_ "
Also nice pun, m8
Edit : Formatting format in youtube is really not convenient -.-
Legand has it that when the world is in danger when all hope is lost he will return
From where father
The depths my sonq
The Shambler's turret: Literally takes off to avoid getting hit in the face.
Lathtrix "We got super lucky with some of those dodges"
Me: Wait that wasn't intentional?!
New move with mun Warners, bump the head
You should try and build a walking battleship/carrier that releases hoards of these shamblers against its targets and it could be called the Pub
Nice
Agreed
Imagine a land carrier style like in the home world deserts of Karak game
28:03 If missles dont work, then evasive maneuvers will do the job.
I saw "drunken" and "From the Depths" and I've never clicked so fast on a video.
Not quite what I was expecting, but these build videos are always fun!
Turret: "I must go. My planet needs me"
Legs: "Sod them, i need you right now!"
Hooray! As much as I love Stellaris, this is definitely my favorite game to watch you play. I'm really hoping you do another campaign of it soon!
Finally a From the Depths video from the man himself, I've been looking forward for this.
Thank you man. You've been there for most my childhood. If this is my only chance to tell you this: thank you.
I feel so ooold
I second you Raymond. Appreciation for so many lazy evenings you’ve filled, Lath :)
Aside from the rotation speed of the munition warners, another reason could be different shells and weapon projectiles have different detection radii. Stuff like small aps and small cram are harder to detect than hardened cram and large APS even if your setup is already perfect.
the tank also had flash suppression (or what ever they are calle now) barrels on the crams wich reduce detection for the shells.
The Drunken Achilles, shambling towards the enemy with veritable fusillades of bullets streaming from its wobbly turret. It's literal Achilles heel being, well, it's heel. A well placed shot to the ankles and the thing struggles even more to walk, if such a thing was even possible!
You should give a low velocity giant cram cannon as a head. it would be awesome to see a drunken robot with a giant head throwing HE Shells.
Projectile Vomit should be that variants name
Lathland playing from the depths again :O (comment for the algorithm God's)
this thing is literally using chaos as its main defence, I love it so much
Drunkbot needs a wobbly turret it spews drunken missiles everywhere from.
Missile vomit? Lol
im loving the idea of one of these set to run along the seafloor carrying a basic submarine with a nuke and a drill and releasing it underneath enemy ships
Ah yes, the lathrixian war machine, a drunk robot which can’t even remember what hat it’s supposed to be wearing
that scene where the top part lifted off, it looked kinda like it took its hat off to dodge.
if you can figure out how that happened and replicate it relieably, your walker would be unhitable!
also, that scene made me laugh way more then it should. thanks for that.
I'm glad to see you still find joy in from the depths,if you ever do another ashes of the empire campaign, have you considered going full megazord with the shambler for the final battle?
Having spent MANY hours experimenting with walkers, I'm already very very impressed with the first 10 minutes!
This isn’t drunk at all, it moves exactly like an AT-ST from the original trilogy and looks like one too! :)
Not quite close though
Now to make it 95% more horrifying, simply make it longer and attach 4 pairs of shambling legs to create THE SPIDER FROM THE DEPTHS.
Bonus points if you mount red laser weapons into its eyes.
Indeed, the head can be the laser weapon, and you can then mount a turret on the rear section.
Hay Lath,
I've been using missiles to protect my crafts if some time now and it works great. Some of the things I do with my anti-cram is use the short range engine not the variable. More over all power and better launch speed. Also, you can make them smaller and less expensive.
Lover your vids. You keep me coming back to from the depths.
23:30
The most Lathrix moment ever.
Lathland, just wanna say that I LOVE your content. All of it! I’ve been watching for many many years and it’s absolutely CRIMINAL you haven’t reached 1 mill yet! Anyways I just wanted to say thanks for the years of making my days and to keep yourself healthy!
28:04 When Lathrix wants a drunk walker and the walker agrees
I swear I laughed way to hard at that scene 😂😂
Damn, when I thought the day couldnt get any better Lathland drops a FTD video
The "a few to many at the local" line makes lathrix sound like a 12 year old trying to sound cool but then you remember the abominations that alcohol has birthed on this channel
Cram shell: *coming to hit the turret cap*
Turret cap: I'm gonna do what's called a pro gamer move.
A motherwalker that creates the small mini walkers, or creates some type of support/distraction walkers
Whiskey is the ultimate powersource!
I have an idea for another walker, Lathrix. Try your own spin on the LCT-1V Locust from Battletech.
For background, this is a fast and lightly armored scout mech.
An entire campaign using just large amounts of various walkers would definitely be interesting
Plz Lathrix do a campaign in which you only build walkers, the derp walkers of Lathland will conquer the non-believers
Thank you Lathrix for all the great videos you make
the turret cap freaking out while perfectly dodging shots killed me, I'm ded.
Drunk Achilles shall be its name. For it survives punishment everywhere but the heels.
That thing was surprisingly much more effective than I was expecting and with a bit of work it could be even better.
You always surprise me with the things you build and how actually useful they turn out to be, great stuff! :)
( Iraq lobster voice ) You can’t catch me I’m drunk
( high pitch voice ) It’s got a bobble head
I love drunk lathrix
From the Depths videos are always must-watch for me. Happy to see it pop back up!
this walker is the personification of: x number of shots later:
it lurches along like an AT-ST
especially in the fight around 24:30
Sooo many possibilities!!looking fprward to seeing you master these contraptions too
i think i got a lathrix inspired loading screen tip in FTD it was something like "sir and sirettes you are the sacrifice today" but idk i might be tripping
Lath, I miss your from the depths vids; they are of unmatched quality and I've really been hankering for some more!
Yeeeeeees. I have anticipated this video since the first walker. Nice
Honestly can’t wait to see when he decides to do a full adventure run as a walker
The King has returned!
Simba is Alive!
FINALLY i see the series i want to be continued! ty, good sir!
Good to see you back at this game right as I'm also getting back into it
You've heard of the AT-ST, but now we're introducing the brand new: DR-NK
loving the vid so far
I was just waiting for this exact video to come out
This just needs random TF2 Demoman voice lines and it’s perfect
You should call it the drunkin sailor
What brilliant technology, the Walker does a fedora tip in order to dodge oncoming damage.
I don't know why but the walker's little hat reminds me of a kwanzaa kufi. It makes me think that the little guy is someone who is enjoying the holidays.
"These Legs are made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these legs are gonna walk all over you"
I love your FTD videos, and it’s making me want to play, please keep up the good work.
If the Empire had these, the rebels would have stood no chance!
I love the idea of the shambler being modular, like putting a doom cram on one
the image of someone getting into their heavy duty tank that is highly practical and getting decimated because their systems just cant handle the idea of a wobly drunken mech
The Shield window in the front looks like a bow tie.
Shambling home from a fancy party.
23:30
“WHY DID YOU NOT WORK PROPE-“
* engages adoring tone *
*”It’s got a bobble head!*
I can't wait.for the Drunken Dreadnought for a WH40K build
Oh how I’ve waited, the return is as glorious as anticipated
Ok but now I really want to see a humongous cannon on top of the walker that causes it to rock backwards every time it fires. With some occasional falling over. All in the spirit of drunkenness.
The walking really reminds me of the two legged/armed Skull Crawlers from Kong: Skull Island.
Lathrix is by far the most underrated UA-camr.
I can't help but anthropomorphize the drunk shambling walker. It is my spirit animal and I love it
passive radars help detect missiles at a much further range, normal missiles have a very short detection range with just munition warners.
I think this shows that taking long breaks from FtD is not a great thing! I used passive radars a LOT in the latest adventure mode playthrough and just completely forgot about them when recording this!
Aaand the tractor beams make me want a drunken bar fight version where you have a floating upper arm with nothing but melee spikes that walks up to enemies and PUNCHES
Finally.... After a month of testing.. we have another video
oh yeah next time in from the depths, please make a shield bot that tries to block all incoming damage for the team
And now it looks likes an immort that had half of itself stolen.
"I used a boat AI" - it's not drunk, it's got reverse sea legs!
Nice! Guess im gonna have to finish the 'walker mech' i put in the workshop now.
Very glad to see some FtD again!
I have a weird name for this... thing: Totally Accurate Walker Simulator, TAWS, because that drunken-esc walking/aiming reminds me of the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator characters, and I adore that so much
this thing reminded me very much of the robot pants from wallace and gromit, and also i think it would be a cool feature if the turret itself floated a bit more off the craft? gives it a very surreal and almost terrifying look to see a shambling pair of metal legs circling you with a floating pair of guns, giving it an almost alien feel
I was thinking AT-ST.. and I wasnt disappointed honestly besides some of the joint mechanics being different thats basically what you've made and it is glorious
Sweet been waiting for this since the update
Lathrix has finally created himself in robot form and I love it xD
Now I want to see GIANT robot Lathrix O.O
Woooo
More from the depths video
I would love to see more carrier stuff maybe a ship that builds derp dart nukes and yeets them
:0 He’s back with FTD! Welcome back lathland glad to hear you’re okay!
28:00 that dodge
I love how exciting you get playing this game
I absolutely love this walker!
Your walker has a bow tie jockstrap and I love it!
Yesss are lord has returned to his rightful place on the throne of from the depths
well theres obviously only one name for this thing... The Shambler - Spiced Gold
These are the mega warforms your stellaris nation uses.
11:05 I think a better name for something that looks like this is "The Thriller" ... For... Dancing reasons
Lathrix if it goes 15 meters a second that is 54,000meters a hour or 54 kilometers a hour which is quite fast for a walker.
The walker looks like the robotic pants from that wallence and grommit movie. The one with the evil penguin, i mean chicken.
