Enjoy this rather all over the place set of designs! Since recording this I've been hiding in a dark room drinking lots of water and taking lots of painkillers.

Yeah This and Stability will mean that Dediblade spam is not really viable anymore as a way to make super cheap and good at everything craft which is great.

Ahh the nostalgia of hearing you say welcome back to from the depths with me lathrics. I remember watching you years ago when I was in school thinking how amazing you were at building ships like I never could. I’m 21 now and still enjoy that intro just as much as I did when I was 18-17. Welcome Sirs and siretts was the best intro I had ever heard.
Because the hovercraft is named "The Crossbow" the Plane could be "The Bolt" and the Helis could be "Arrowheads"
a capital ship or carrier could be named 'The Huntsman' to go with the theme

@@chee.rah.monurB this guy I'd say is though hillarious better at decorating his craft than making them highly efficient and deadly, unless he's been building a flagship after a few beers. Compared to borderwise, who makes some terrifying and just really good crafts that look... Kinda plain.

Following the old weapon name theme, the helicopter could be called the "hwacha," which was a fifteenth century rocket launcher from Korea. It fits the helicopter's function; strong burst damage at the beginning using missile volleys, and it's also just fun to say.
Regardless, I look forward to what this campaign will bring.

With the planes, maybe you could configure their engine and AI to go faster on the retreat, and slower on the attack?
And perhaps the helicopters could also be made to strafe around the enemy, or go back and forth to help them dodge enemy fire.
Yeah, the campaign is currently playable, though be warned if you want the AI to spawn anything scary you are going to have to give them a lot of time.
Name suggestion for the heli trio, stingers, they have a big initial punch and then have sustained dmg, kinda like a bee sting with the initial sting and then the venom

The helicopters could be called Hyenas, since they pick at the weaker prey and provide finishing blows when they scavenge. The interceptor could keep the animal theme by being the Hound class, since it hounds its enemy and persistently hunts them.
Lathrix every time he starts a new campaign: so... last time was a bust, but this time Ill definitely finish the campaign
I'd love to see you experiment some more with AI in these designs. For instance, the little strike craft could use a spiral diving/retreating pattern instead of a straight one, which would make it much harder to hit. Lots of simple things like that could let you shed some of that bulky armor for extra speed or damage, as well as a lower profile. Also you missed a huge opportunity when you made a crossbow shaped ship and didn't give it a massive spinal cannon in the middle.
After watching a certain amphibians FtD streams, its nice to watch a competent builder make things that actually work.
P.S. I think the interceptor should be named something like "Striker" or "Dagger". While the little heli should be called "Horsefly" because of how small yet powerfull it is.

It seems like the weapons designs this time around are air-based. This faction seems to have their "warships" being hovercraft. This sounds fun, and it would allow them to invade islands with relative ease and protect them too.
You really should make an aircraft carrier that works as your “mobile base” in either the campaign or an adventure mode. With tiny little aircraft and little helicopters.
There I was making my own FTD videos when I felt a disturbance in the force... Literally checked your channel out of the blue to find you are coming back to FTD! You got me into FTD and I probably wouldn't have started a channel without that so I can't wait to see more!

you should check out the new propellers that are in beta (they are the replacement for dedi blades) btw the crossbow is so cool
The fighter reminds me of a mosquito. Maybe the "Mosca," taking out the diminutive '-ito.'
if you want to give meta a go, big 4-8 meter 500 mm. pen depth aps is the way to go and is great fun to watch. Its Armor peiceing head, solid, he, he,he, and then an optional supercav. Of course you tend to just create your own stuff that for some reason performs really well and looks amazing, so you do you.
I have waited an eternity for FTD to come back. Always been my favourite of your series.

Going with the weaponry theme on names, the interceptor could be called the Haladie, and the helicopter Sai. Both are daggers, originating from India and Japan respectively.

I think it would be cool if the copters were named "Hrund", after a valkyrie, the name translating to "Pricker". The name referencing both the "Flight of the Valkyries" and the light fire of the aircraft.

Boy is been a while lathrix, glad your back! Random idea for a more later game, a craft similar to the crossbow but with rapid fire particle cannons. I think this play through you should use weapons you don't use to often, or different like slower firing Advanced cannons on the plane.
Name suggestion for the heli: Flag bearer or Chaos Standard, as in standard-bearer.

Helicopters should be called strikers for their quick fire rate and small size, making them hard to hit if you make them constantly move, and the plane should be the viper for it's high speed compared to the other ones
Maybe we could have a set of three complementary designs for every new faction you face designed to fight that faction. And for every final big battle against that faction, we design the flagship that will end them for good.
Broski, the planes are 300% prime torpedo territory, like put 1 or two big ones on there and that dive would be devastating
Something you might consider experimenting with is applique armor for lighter aircraft - it's not very good HP, but the high armor makes it still viable, and it's nice and low-profile for allowing quite compact aircraft.
Also, for mostly-AA dual-purpose guns, you can actually use the AA mantlet facing up rather than forwards to make a slightly more compact turret (because you only need 1 block of turret forward of the turret's center of rotation) - it's a little janky looking at times, but at least when holding still it can look really nice and it allows you to armor the front of the turret a bit better.
I think the small helecopter with a flag could be called "omens" idk I just think that because that are one of the first things you made and it had a flag on it that shows who you are and what is coming

You should build a small tub boat with two alternating cram mortar "smoke stacks"
A later upgraded Crossbow with extended body, and ‘wings’ or ‘bow’ bits so they’re not so stumpy would look nice. You could that back area with laser bits for a munition defense system that you can they put on the tips of those bow parts, beef up that cram a bit, and keep the strafe and you’d have a nice fleet support vehicle.
Maybe call it something like the ExcaliBow or something more clever.
You should also check out making a Mass Driver for late game shenanigans. They’re crazy.
The 3.craft really looks and works like a ghost from Halo (without the cramcanon)

I am not a very good human being. The design of the crossbow reminds me a bit of a stingray. These things combine to make me want it's name to include a Steve Irwin reference.

The helicopter reminds me of the helicopter from Bloons TD6 with the razor blades upgrade

The first plane reminds me of a hummingbird skeeter thingy
i feel as though a "weapon" naming theme would be cool, since the hovercraft is called the crossbow
the interceptor could be called the khopesh (ko-pesh) due to the circular ai pattern
the copters could be called the knives or the kunai due to how they're small, cheap, and will be spawned in high numbers
don't get too attached to those dedi blades. they got some changes coming up.

Loving the more condensed editing of this one, makes it very easy to watch. Editing FTD videos seems like a nightmare so having just the good bits (beginning/end of build and fights) hopefully makes life easier. Looking forward to the next one!

Names for ya stuff, eh? Why not weapon themes since your ship is already named the Crossbow? Maybe you can call the helicopters Tridents due to their spawn formation and three major weapons... And the ship? Maybe something fast and projectile related like Caliber or Bullet... Or the Boomerang could be funny because of how it fights and its general shape.
Alternatively, if we're going to be in keeping with the medieval equipment theme; the copters could be named Helm/helmet/helmut(this one is just for a silly spelling) , and the interceptors Partisan/Ranseur.(as for the names, like the cross bow its for how they look, not what they do. feel free to look them up)
Here is Lathrix designing tiny and decently cheap craft that destroy DWG and even some SS vehicles, and then there is me designing big hulking cruisers that have a hard time sinking most things...

Is there any possibility at all that you might revisit Cosmoteer? Much has changed with it since the last video you did on it, such as the addition of new and different weapons, crew assignments, and a plethora of new ship designs being added in over time by the community. There's also a lot of balance changes, but I won't get into THOSE boring details! XD
Edit: Oh! And there's also the Steam version that I believe is still in development, which will be EVEN MORE than the current version is compared to said last instance of you playing it, but I haven't looked into it myself yet.

I got back Into from the depths a few weeks ago. Glad to see you back too.
I have found that one of the most cost effective vehicles early game is a torpedo bomber, I use long medium missiles on the cheapest plane hull I can make, I can get them to cost ~6000 resource and 5 of them are enough to take on the crossbones. I usually have them fire the torpedo's fairly far away, ~1000 meters so AA is unable to do much, they also fly high until they drop the torpedo's, so they act kinda like dive bombers. You don't even need good detection on them because the torpedo's lock on. I know you like missiles so I thought you might enjoy making something like a torpedo bomber!

i love from the depths i just wish I was better at bringing out the ideas I have in my head like I have an idea for a fleat of ships that are a hull with hardpoints were you sit other crafts to be the cannons or armor and shields like sort of like making a turtle ship where the other armor is another craft that takes all the hits for the soft squishy insides but the inside builds and repairs and supports the outside but I just cant seem to build it myself as I'm not very good at putting my ideas into the real world but yeah helo are meant to be heavy armor killers think even their main guns are either AP shells or HE with the bigger ones tending to have like rockets and missiles
