Never heard of covering orange with spice to preserve. The cloves do the preservation. They are usually covered with cloves and then they are covered in tulle then tied with a ribbon bow & hanger. Then hang in your closet. Have done these on east west coasts and various climates.never a problem. Those rubber bands will break a lot of the cloves just draw your lines. Of course, they can be displayed in various places.its just this video was so unnecessarily complicated and limited
