We used to make pomanders when I was in first grade. We stuck whole cloves into oranges and then tied with a ribbon. I love the smell of cloves. Not sure what became of the orange after hanging....I think they had a short shelf life and then you tossed them. I'll bet there are all kinds of great things to do with clove oil.
