What a helpful informative channel & a lovely couple. We are planning our first ever trip to Thailand/Koh Samui early next year and apart from being so excited about it, seeing places like that noodle restaurant and many others that look to be offering so much beautiful food I suspect our waistlines will be taking a battering when we get there.
I really enjoyed the bloopers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Note standing in the rain rolling his eyes ... 🤭🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️ In 2012 I stayed on the island in January and was really disappointed about the daily rain! Had not expected the big difference to Hua Hin concerning the rainy season.
@@FloraandNote No I live in Germany but visited my retired parents more than 10 years in Hua Hin over Christmas until January. I NEVER had rain there in this time 😃 quite the contrary it was too hot for me so that I slept in the garden 🤣 coming directly out of the european Winter 😇

I guess I've been very lucky. I've been to Koh Samui twice in November, for 10 days each time. The weather was beautiful both times! I had no idea it was monsoon season. Now I know that various regions in Thailand have different wet and dry seasons. BTW, I'll be on Samui again Nov. 2023. I hope my luck continues.
I've made it all the way up to here from watching your videos from the very beginning and the shot of Sea just made me sad a little bit because I had just seen your instagram post about her :( She was the reason you guys came back early from Philippines and I am so glad you guys prioritized being with her until then. I would prefer staying on Samui in the rainy season, compared to the daily boring and lifedraining hamster wheel here in Europe. Any day on Samui is better than a day at the job ;)
There's a video of the SeaHorse Ferry Maiden Voyage and the weather all the way from Sattahip to Songkhla looked great, but they could see the clouds and rain over Koh Samui as they went past.

I love the rain and 72hrs of rain is always my happy place same with 13:40 hahahahahaha but yes the reality is the flooding and landslides cause so much damage it is often never worth it.
Another great video, although with some sad news. I have received my Thailand pass and will be arriving in Koh Samui on December 14th. Hopefully, the monsoo rains have left the island by then please advise whether I can drive in Koh Samui, using my Canadian driver's licence or I have to get an international license. I appreciate your response.

Hi Pi Co! Bophut and Bangrak are busier areas to stay in.. and walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. We got a deal on the jeep because we rented it for 2 months (8000baht/month). But if you were renting daily/weekly it’ll probably be more expensive.
That's so unlucky. I went at the begging of November 2019. It only rained 5 times. Then stayed dry till the end of February. But when it rained it RAINED!

The rain is mostly gone! Just a couple odd days of rain left .. the noodle place doesn’t have a pin on Google map but we did link the closest location to them in our description box (near 711 and Chicken Run)

Glad you found our channel! June-Aug is quite hot and humid but you'll still get a nice breeze from the Gulf of Thailand. It's better than coming mid Oct-mid Dec when it gets super rainy.
Statistically Samui would be better than Phuket at that time 🤔 but the weather is so unpredictable .. Samui just randomly had a week of torrential rain and now it’s sunny again 😅

LOL my wife and I bailed on rainy Samui too, in September. Ultra Bodies gym was the only refuge then. Merit Hotel had a washout collapse there.

Need an international license….coz the brown shirts are out every day at road stops checking all licences.I know from my last visit there…

July is hot but usually not too much rain. Koh Samui's rainy season starts around October.

We'll try, still working on that. Thai coffee is almost like Vietnamese coffee- strong, bold flavour and has a bit of a roasted corn flavour.

Is it called Nang Yuan Noodle? There are a few on the island now.. not sure if the Chaweng branch managed to hold on or not..

What month did you visit? I am visiting koh samui in December and this has now scared me!!
This was mid November last year .. hopefully we won’t get such a long rainy season this year!

Hi guys, based on your experience, flying between Thailand or out of Thailand, is the airlines' price some what the same or fluctuate high and low. Do you purchase the ticket the day you are traveling or usually far in advance? I am trying to get my flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui for summer. Should I get it now or closer to date? Please inform. Thank you
We find that it fluctuates so we usually book it a month in advance and try to pick the cheapest dates (if your plans are flexible).
@FloraandNote thank you for the info. We're somewhat flexible but worry that if things don't go as planned, they airlines are mostly non refundable. Hopefully, all goes as plan 🙏🙏 maybe we can meet you both in Samui🙏

December should be nice! But🤞..the worst part of monsoon season “should” be over … according to the locals we talked to 😆
