If you like harmonica in rock songs , you will be blown away with "GRAND FUNK RAILROAD's "INSIDE LOOKIN OUT" live in 1969. Best live performance on UA-cam. I've been listening to Sabbath ,, Grand Funk, and YES, and of course The Beatles and all the bands inbetween.. These are best of the best. Have a good day and God Bless. Oh ,saw Sabbath on their first American tour in71 and on their last tour 2017. complete circle. 13 lips.
Ozzy does a good job with the harmonica. They started out as a blues band, and that shines through on the music off their first album. This is the only song from Sabbath with harmonica in it(until their last album from 2013, in the song "Damaged Soul").
That's too bad they don't have much more with harmonica but it is fantastic and I agree he does a great job. Good info. I think I'll like their first album if it has touches of the blues throughout.
I’m surprised I haven’t heard this beat in a hip hop track. The groove is HARD. I actually like Black Sabbath for their swing on the blues. And early Led Zeppelin.
Thanks for reacting to this one.Yes this is the only song that Ozzy use the harmonica.Kinda like Bon Scott of AC/DC.He played bagpipes only in It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll) And yes your correct. The wizard is a drug dealer.I was going to link the video but couldn't find it.I haven't seen the video of Ozzy it in for years so I'm just going of memory. For what I remember Ozzy was walking down the street with one of the members of the band.Suddenly this guy jumped out of the bush and scared them.He was trying to sell them some illegal substance. He didn't say what kinda drug it was.But i'm pretty sure it was something heavy the way Ozzy describe the guy.
A few friendly suggestions. Sabbath bloody Sabbath, Paranoid, The Wizard, In to the Void, Fairies wear boots, Snow blind, Sweet leaf, Heaven and Hell, NiB, Killing yourself to live, Hand of Doom, Symptom of the Universe
I've listened to that song since my high school days starting in 1970,and I never thought about the idea that The Wizard could be a drug dealer. You may be onto something here,Coach! THanks for the BS reacts...enjoying your takes. T
when Sabbath were starting out Bill Ward picked up, and used, the broken drumsticks that the previous drummers discarded. Black Sabbath bassist and lyricist Geezer Butler said the song's lyrics were influenced by the wizard Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings. Listen to "Supernaut"
@@CoachCastTV I'm waiting patiently, my favorite by them and you won't be disappointed. When you're ready for some flute mixed into rock music Jethro Tull's "My God" off their Aqualung album and Chicago's "It Better End Soon" [all 4 movements] would be good starters: ua-cam.com/video/MbGEIsKOt_8/v-deo.html
Sabbath started out as a Blues band, and they retained that influence even after they developed their signature "sound". In fact, before "Heavy Metal" became the universally accepted term for this kind of music, bands like Sabbath we're described variously as "Downer Rock" and "Atomic Blues". I wish the latter term had stuck.
love you guys. real honest folk giving real honest opinions. you have stumbled onto the greatest metal/classic band of all time. they set the foundation for heavy metal rockers continuing today. the musicians in this band are tops and i believe they never really got the credit they deserve back then. i have been a fan since 1969/70 and never looked back. some of the stuff after ozzie and bill was good but its not totally sabbath without those two....but i love tony and geezer. try listening to symptom of the universe studio version and behold the true greatness of this band.
Havent read all the comments but Im sure someone must have recommended 'Warning' the last song on the 1st album if you liked 'The Wizard' your going to love all 10m48s of 'Warning'🎉😂
I found a rarity for you. Black Sabbath song , alternate mix, called "All Moving Parts". The band recorded two versions in 1976, one with harmonica and one without. The one without made the final cut on the album. When the band released a remastered version of the Technical Ecstasy album in 2021, the included several of the alternate versions. here is the link the one with the harmonica. ua-cam.com/video/05wlwcnySaY/v-deo.html
Okay, Mrs Coach doesn't like the blues!?? I have the remedy for that. There can only be one reason for this tragic circumstance, and it's because she's never heard Gary Moore's number "Still got the Blues." I *emplore* you guys to react to this master blues guitar player! I PROMISE you won't regret it!....
You have a whole bunch of Sabbath to check out... both with the Ozman & Dio. Fully explore Sabbath's catalogue before moving on to Led Zep & Deep Purple. Give those three a solid and thorough exploration. Then start on Pink Floyd. Lots of other great stuff to react to, but check out these bands first. Wammer Jammer (J. Geils) is one of the better harmonica songs I know of.
now you guys need to listen to the Dio era of sabbath, as good as ozzy is, there is no singer better than Dio. check out a song called sign of the southern cross and you will see ;)
An absolute must rock song with harmonica.... Blackfoot - Train, Train

Found this channel by searching Green Jelly really enjoying the music reviews Coach and Mrs Coach 🤘
Welcome! We are glad you found us!

A few of those are on the channel. The Wizard is one of Coach's favorites now. Thanks for the others.
Yeah I agree about Ozzy's harmonica. It sounds so cool in this hard rock setting. I wish they had done more songs with Ozzy blowing harp!
For sure!
Ozzy has played harmonica on several songs. He also plays the jaw harp on sleeping village.
I've listened to that song since my high school days starting in 1970,and I never thought about the idea that The Wizard could be a drug dealer. You may be onto something here,Coach! THanks for the BS reacts...enjoying your takes. T
Thank you! We just filmed "Into the Void" and will need to get it edited and scheduled soon.
OZZIE IS ON THAT HARP

Cool story about Bill Ward, and what influenced this song. It's still our favorite Black Sabbath song so far.
Clutch. bang, bang, bang. Harmonica.
Clutch - Electric Worries !!!!
im always glad to see when a youtube reactor realizes legendary bands have better songs than the two songs all other reactors are doing
This song was awesome!
Now it is time for "Fairies Wear Boots"!
What a great name for a song. Thanks for the suggestion!

Got it. Thank you! We appreciate the info and also appreciate you watching!
Robert Plant has the best harmonica work ever ❤Led zeppelin ❤

"Atomic Blues" is awesome. We just reacted to a live version of this. Coming soon!

Thank you!
some say the Wizard is inspired by Gandalf from Token's work. this was a trend back then with Led Zeppelin pulling the most from the books.
Do the whole album! Faries Wear Boots, Sleeping Village, etc.
Black Sabbath with Ozzy ❤
The songs, (1)Black Sabbath and (2) Fairies Wear Boots
We have heard both are good.
I like your reactions so far. To me the Best Sabbath song is Children of the Grave, Heavy and Groovy. Cheers from Québec City. 🇨🇦
Thank you so much!
That’s right; a double entendres; could be about drugs or conquering evil; that’s how Satan is so deceptive and clever
It's about Gandalf.
Earth before they were (1968-69)70 sabbath
Havent read all the comments but Im sure someone must have recommended 'Warning' the last song on the 1st album if you liked 'The Wizard' your going to love all 10m48s of 'Warning'🎉😂
A great song... So simple and yet with such amazing skill.. I always look at this one as if the wizard is basically any messianic figure
Currently still our favorite Black Sabbath song.
You should definitely listen to Clutch - Electric Worry. It also has harmonica in it.
Haven't heard of that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Found you guys by accident.
Glad I did.

Welcome! We're enjoying this journey and glad to have you along.
Ozzy on harmonica
Listen to 'Evel Women'..
Gotta do sweet leaf !
Another for the list. I have a feeling we'll be a long time on Black Sabbath content.
Haunting isn't it.
Hey CoachCast, if you like harmonica in Rock & Roll. Check out Inside Looking Out by Grand Funk Railroad.
Thanks!
Ozzy
Ozzy harmonic
Is this a remastered version? It sounds so good.
Listen to (changes) by black sabbath
Okay, Mrs Coach doesn't like the blues!?? I have the remedy for that. Thanks for that suggestion. Coach has tried quite a few, so stay tuned. Perhaps something (maybe this one) will do the trick one day. LOL
The inspiration came from Lord of the Rings.
I always thought the wizard was a drug dealer too
Great minds think alike. 👍
Another song with harmonica is Whorehouse Blues by Motorhead, which is pretty awesome. I would do the live version if you decided to do it.
OK, that's going on the list for the name alone. Thanks for the recommendation!
You can get lost listening to sabbath they have different sounds . Sabotage sounds different than first album
You have a whole bunch of Sabbath to check out... both with the Ozman & Dio. Fully explore Sabbath's catalogue before moving on to Led Zep & Deep Purple. Love J. Geils Band! I had forgotten about them. Thanks for the info!
The Wizard is actually about Gandalf in the books "Lord of the Rings"
Does this song need more Cowbell?
LOL...doesn't everything need more cowbell?
do you want to hear some awesome Blues Harmonica keyboards and guitar you need to listen to Led Zeppelin.... You Shook Me
Sounds good. It's on the list now. Thank you!
I ❤ Bill Ward
He's a beast!
now you guys need to listen to the Dio era of sabbath, as good as ozzy is, there is no singer better than Dio. check out a song called sign of the southern cross and you will see ;)
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm sure we'll get to it.
If you want to see the epitome of a harmonica being played in a rock song, check out Cold Chisel ''Bow river'' live.
Don't like Blues? Sabbath IS blues. Wait till you get a little deeper.
Aerosmith's "Rats In the Cellar" is a great song featuring harmonica.
It’s all ozzv
Please do more BS
We have another filmed, but need to edit and get it scheduled. We are enjoying the band.
If you are looking for rock and roll with harmonica, I think you need to listen to "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin.
Great suggestion. We actually did that one and both liked it.
Harmonica? J. Geils Band, “Give it to Me.”
