Hi David ,I'm happy to share the great news with you , that today I passed successfully my CDL driving test , after passing pre trip inspection and maneuvers last week, and will receive soon my CDL license in the mail. Thanks for tutorial videos, and giving us the free online seat time with you in your truck, I learn a lot from you. You made my tests easy.
Thanks David for your kind words, It feels so good to be a CDL holder, I learned a lot during my school training and youtube virtual teaching that I feel I'm better driver now, and seing things that I used to ignore before.
I have about two years to prepare before I begin my journey to get my CDL and become a truck driver, THANK YOU for posting about the mobile game I can get some knowledge/experience/whatever while I go through therapy and work on getting healthier. Thanks again, you gained a new sub, be safe out there!
Thank you sir by watching your vedio the whole day I was having hard time doing the offset today at school and I'm now getting the big picture.i was having problems with steering(right and left concept).thank you
Thanks a lot Trucking Guru , This video and the rest of your tutorials, helped me a lot to learn Offset backing, Parallel Parking for my CDL Skills test and even my straight line backing has improved dramatically, I started using your technique of pointing and guiding the rear of the trailer with the front trailer, like if I am pushing the trailer with my hands forward, this was an AHA moment, a click that opened a door of David Crowley Magic to me , it's a simple and a fast method that is natural , intuitive and doesn't require too much calculations and thinking , you are my Super Hero, and my true Instructor, you deserve monthly donations from your viewers, your videos are so rich and generous, we have to show some appreciation and gratitude too. one million Thanks again.
@@MyTruckingSkills you're welcome Man, you deserve a lot more than that, but I do what I can, every month, I wish you more success and growth to your channel until you reach a million subscribers.and billion views.
You did a great job explaining the off set back. No problems with you repeating yourself, that’s the part you want the student to realize and not for get it. Keep repeating.....good job. And thanks for your time and wisdom. 👍👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🤔🤔
I have watched many tutorials on backing up and other trailer techniques. Quiet honestly, your videos are the very best in town! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
This is the method that makes the most sense to me, but I’m afraid that if I don’t do it the way the instructor wants me to that he is going to get frustrated with me. I am just not getting the offset (I’ve only done it twice, the first time the instructor was f-Ing off not paying attention to his class, taking calls, second time I had a better, more helpful instructor) but both times it didn’t seem to make any sense to me… hopefully tomorrow I will have some improvement. I want so badly to do well.
I'm preparing my CDL skills test, I love this new upload, your videos are very helpful, informative and the most creative in UA-cam, you are the Best Man, thanks a lot.
I passed CDL Incab air brake, pre trip inspection, the maneuvers, and almost passed the driving test, but I failed because I hit a curb in one of the corners. , your tricks and technique did help me succeed my maneuvers, thanks a lot for that, very much appreciated. I was hearing your whispers and commentary during skill test.
My Trucking Skills I'll book another driving road test appointment, before my CLP expire in Aug 19, I need to practice corners turns, then I go back again.
Same here - one right turn into narrow divided street. I'll need to use 50% of the traffic lane next time. Tried pulling straight and turn at last moment, one foot in the curb
I love this video !!!! The school where I went to had us work with 48' trailers. The tractors were White Freightliner sleepers, so about 70' in total length. I'm DEF gonna save this video in my tutorial folder. Great job man, great visuals, and organization. 👍
love this channel, just started my CDL course and damn did i get flustered with the backing... btw school is using full size trailers to learn on. appreciate all the pointers i can get.
@@drewjeers815 i left this comment a year ago. N yes i pass the first time. its not as bad, u just gotta show up everyday. 1 week of class room stuff n last 2 weeks u be outside practice backing up. as of today im hauling for FedEx pulling double trailers. make about $1500 a week.
@@Edd0614 Good job, you're on the right path to make a better living for yourself. i left this comment 2 years ago. I been trucking for 2 years now. You'll make good money if u know what your doing. let me give u advice, if u don't like backing. find a drop n hook position. Hauling doubles for fedex, ups, RL, Estes, YRC, pay is good n its all drop n hook, no backing into docks. u just drop it on the inbound yards n u go.
I love this stuff! I never learned how to really do backing maneuvers in school. It still frustrates me. You’re a great teacher. All the different cameras and that drone with explanations are freaking awesome man! Please keep up the good work
You wouldn't do it like this, you would turn in what ever direction your space is in to get most of a straight back in. Do most of your maneuvering going forward if you have the option.
I'm in cdl school in NJ we use a 48ft trailer , n just let u know here if u stick u head out window u fail test...I always have window up so it stops me from doing it cause its so natural. Thank u for video
You sometimes need to offset back when you get to a receiving dock and the door you chose to back into has pallets behind it and the warehouse asks you to move over one dock
But you wouldn't off set. You wouldn't pull straight out and then maneuver over. You would pull out to the left or right and do most of your set up going forward. That's not an off set
Never underestimate any skill maneuver you learn in DMV test, you may need it one day, in my first Company road test the examiner asked me to do only one maneuver which is offset, he said no street driving, or any thing else, we want to make sure that you have control over the vehicle, and that you didn't buy the CDL license with cash... I passed :)
I think on first offset you could have stopped, cranked the wheel in the direction to straighten out, then went from there. But you were rolling while cranking to straighten out, giving up way to much valuble space. Had you stopped you would have been good to go.Good vid pal, and thanks for it! Ps on second offset you turned right to hard and made a blind spot at the end, that wouldnt have been good for me. I would have slowly babied it while turning right so I still saw cones! You arent allowed to stick your head out of semi when backing up on road test! Also at second vid, at the start, i would have had it cranked before rolling!
I'm going to do something better than that. My website will help out every new driver out there who is willing to learn a little more. It will help you not get into accidents in your first year!!! that's where my talents will prevail.
Hi i love your videos. The only time i am having difficulty backing up is when there are no yellow or white guide lines at the dock i keep going back and forth to make it straight and align it properly at the dock its killing me . Please make a video on how to back up at the dock when there are no guide lines available..as you know some of docks dont have those yellow guide lines...thanks a lot
So how close are you suppose to get to the cone before you turn hard right to get straight? That’s what I’m confused on and this is putting the truck from the left lane to the right
Thanks for the tips but for some people who are trying to learn you should do it a bit slower rather than fast one step at a time you were maneuvering the steering wheel to quick for first time is like myself who are struggling in school to fully understand
The only problem with practicing with 48 foot trailers is the axles are all the way to the rear and there is no trailer swing. Chances are, you are going to be hauling a 53' trailer once you pass you test and they have a swing you need to account for when backing. But you will be fine.
@@MyTruckingSkills they don’t have the tandems set all the way to the back. And when I go into the 3rd week we will be alley docking with the tandems placed fully to the rear

Sure this is valuable! Sometimes you need to do a straight back (half of one anyway) into a parking spot and the maneuvers here are similar I think.
