Not only did he sound terrific in this footage he looked terrific his departure from this world leaves a huge void in the world of music Rip Marvin Lee Aday
This one hurts real bad. RIP to the musical legend! This man KNEW HOW TO SING FROM HIS SOUL! God given talent, so blessed to have been alive in the same time as MEATLOAF! RIP KING 🙏🏽😢❤️👑
Meatloaf was always dramatic, theatrical and vocally powerful in all the songs he performed, on stage and in the recording studio. Listen to the lyrics & storyline to truly understand the emotion, heartache, pain and suffering concerning insecurity, hidden emotions & love loss within this song. This song captivates your ears, heart & imagination and surface memories of the one(s) you once loved & now lost. Love is 50-50 all the way, you need to give what you want & expect to receive.
I wish I had a dime for every tear I cried to this song... looking back my world was far from being over..but at the time, it sure seemed like it. Love Meatloaf... many of his songs play the soundtrack to my youth
This is only one of Meatloaf's all time greatest songs, he has many others as well; such as: Paradise By The Dashboard light, You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth, Bat Outta Hell, etc.....I believe Meatloaf to be an operatic trained singer who brings each song alive with the power of his vocal talent , theatrical settings & emotional tones to captivate the imagination, ears and heart of every listener. You can personally relate/ identify with the storyline of various songs he sings.
I can mind of singing this song on a drunking friday night when i lived in notts with my sis in law, i luv his music have done since i first heard him when i was little & i'm now like 38 & he still rocks in my eyes x
Yea, well thats your opinion. If he really sounded like you thought, he wouldnt have had such a succesfull career like he did, would he? He's a tremendous artist, and his music will, and has, lasted through the years. This album was #1 on the Billboard Charts, and remained on there for a british record of 82 weeks. The last time that i checked, not many artists can say that, so you need to clean out your ears and appreciate great music like this.
@stiffler786 I remember this song like it was yesterday. My mother left my father and this was the song she played every day ntil my father got back with her. (6 months)
On this day in 1978 {March 18th} Meat Loaf's "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #11 and spent 23 weeks on the Top 100 According to Wikipedia; "Bat Out Of Hell" has sold an estimated 43 million copies worldwide, which includes 14 million in the United States alone and still sells about 200,000 copies a year Meat Loaf, aka Marvin Lee Aday, celebrated his 65th birthday this past September 27th *** " I'm crying icicles instead of tears " ***
I also noiced the change of key....and I think the second part of the bridge was just too much for his voice at this point in his life. The thing I love about Meat is that he always gives each song everything he has, even his rehearsals and sound checks, always full on. The back up band here is great....the harmony at 3:20 is just so damn tight...I agree with other commenters who say this is probably one of the greatest love songs ever. It speaks to so many. We've all had that first real love
@psolus21 I didn't like some of the arrangements. He has much better guitarists now, and his voice is better in some songs today. But his whole career is like that. Ups, and downs, like anyone really
Charles Johnson Okay, it's like this. In the movie Fight Club, Meat Loaf played a character named Robert Paulson, who was shot in the head during a late night raid on a coffee shop. After his death, the members of Fight Club chant repeatedly "His name is Robert Paulson." Only makes sense if you are familiar with the movie.

I cry whenever I hear this song .... it is simply too beautiful, and touches my heart.
He still sings it with passion, so many years later...

the sad part is, this is how the man i love feels. I know that, he knows I love him, but it isn't enough. This song says it all.
This is beautiful!
Get well soon big man...you've helped me a lot and I don't want you becoming one of the 2016 list...

beautiful song about the ugly truth...
Everybody stereotyped meatloaf for a rubbish heavy metal group but this shows they're a nice loving meaning group.
@stume0 always great

Love your music, thank you sir
haha the guy in the background at 1:30.
Is the singer's name Meatloaf?
Oh yes
Sad but like many other performers hes not as good sober as he was under the influence! Still love the song tho!
+Kevin challenger Sounds like u need to b e in a safe house, I'm pretty sure I was speaking for myself, hence my comment of my opinion! fxxxxxx weirdo
Why did he skip a verse in this version?
I know what your talking about buddy.
i know that the key of A was an incredible original performance, and tough to cover, buti hate when it gets lowered to G.
I got ths song cause of a weirdo who makes home made Joff pots of a breakup messed up and hes a dad

I know it's off topic, but... His name is Robert Paulson
Who´s name? Meat Loaf? Marvin Lee Aday!!
Charles Johnson I would mention Fight Club, but I promised not to talk about it.

Not bad. Except for the punctuation at the end of your very last sentence.
I'm disappointed with this whole VH1 show. It's like a bad night at a karaoke pub.
Awful. God. What a terrible version
This is god awful. He needs to stop
Are you happy now? RIP
@@jonogren5567 thankfully he is at peace. He did himself no favours by performing after he had a stroke. It sullied his legacy
I know I don't luv person with now ! Only 1 person in my heart for over 40yrs Steven U^^N no matter wot happens always will be my only love
