As a highly certified technician I must say I wish I started Aultel. I started with a basic snap on scanner and upgraded every 3 years because it was cheaper than just buying the update. I have used both tools. Snap on is faster in my opinion and the oscilloscope on the snap on modis is also faster. That said, I use oscilloscope a hand full of times a year. Aultel is better priced, covers more vehicles for scans without an expensive upgrade that costs a thousand plus a year to keep up to date. Smh... I spent to much on the wrong tool

We have one of these at our shop and I agree that you can do a ton with it, even the TPMS stuff. Our only complaint is that it's slow and navigating it can feel like you're stuck in a maze. I'm personally use to the snap-on scanner from my last shop and recently bought one. IMHO snap-on did a good job simplifying your vehicles options so they're easy to get to and saves time. I ended up paying twice what the Autel is going for though, so there's that.

@@dieseldabz7104 My Snap-on reps come around like it's my job to keep them in business. With the way business fluctuates at my shop, I can't always afford to buy from them on a weekly basis. The quality is there for sure, but I wait for promos or until I really need a tool before buying off the truck. Its unfortunate but understandable, the service you receive depends on how much/how often you spend with them.
Back to the scan tool. Keep in mind that you may have to pay for updates to be able to use it on newer cars and to use continue using many of its selling features. My Solus Legend is due for the latest update at $450+ or monthly subscription of about $75.

I bough the Autel 906 instead to save a couple hundred dollars. It is the same but is tethered to the car, no blue tooth. In hindsight the BT version would have been worth the extra. There are many times you want the tool with you under the car or hood so you can do bidirectional tests and be there to watch the results.

I would think snap-on would love to have people see this. I'd rather stick with my snap-on verus because it has a 4-channel oscilloscope. Which can be used to test things like, Cam and crank sensors, fuel injectors, ignition coils, and many other sensors that require a minimum of two channels for proper testing and analysis. Also snap-on has other adapters you can get like a primary and secondary ignition pickup leads, an amp clamp, pressure and vacuum transducers, also the amount of waveforms that can be brought up at the same time that No other scanner can do. Also do your homework on how often the scanner has to be updated, because most cars that are new usually go back to the dealer to be fixed, due to warranties. There are diagnosticians out there that do own the high-end snap-on scanners and can diagnosed any problem with your car for probably about $100.00, like myself

With the advent of secure gateway now being used by Chrysler and all other manufacturers ready to follow suit. It was said at the Matco show in Orlando last week by the Launch tech guys that autel will no longer be granted access along with many other brands through auto authority starting this fall. I hope that is not true. That then makes these tools "read only" devices. No special functions. No code clearing or relearn capabilities. May be true. May not but would hate to spend money on the tool then find out 2018 and up it's a paperweight. Already had to register my shops scanners with auto auth to allow access to Chrysler Security Gateway. 50 bucks a year and all manufacturer said to be going that way in the next year.

I really like your video on the Autel Scan tool. I agree with you that they are really great tools, very user friendly. You should do a video on tips and tricks on the tool. I have the Autel Elite, I'm really trying to get the most out of it. I want to link it to a large monitor for my diagnostic cart, and do more printing on scan reports. I really don't know how. That why I think you should try that. Thanks.

If anyone is thinking of buying one of these in the Uk from Ebay, don't get the bluetooth version, I've got one, brilliant tool but the battery is rubbish, Autel Uk will not replace the battery without sending it off somewhere far, at my expense etc etc. I have to have a 12volt lipo battery and lead plugged in while I use mine. I'm not going to argue with anyione about this, I have tried all avenues, so don't suggest one. Buy the wired version, it's cheaper than ther BT model. Other that that, if you buy the wired version, you will be very happy with it.

I don’t own it, but you need an autel that comes with a j2534 module because you have to flash through the acdelco tools website. This BT960 won’t do it. If you want to flash most modules you need a pc and a j2534 tool to do it.

I have this scanner...I like it but it does have its limitations. It worked great at reprogramming a new headlight control on a 2014 F Type Jag, but it will not code or reprogram any new parts or modules on my 2009 Buick Enclave. I am guessing that it will be the same for any GM car. Foreign cars yes, dodge and others, but not GM. So buyer beware.

I used to sell the autel scan tools when I was an outside salesman for advance auto parts. I allowed my friend, who is a Chrysler master tech to demo it. He was going on and on about the "great new proprietary Chrysler scan tool" that his dealership just got. After plugging the wireless adapter into my obd 2 port in my company fleet unit. We sat in his warm living room as he rooted deep into my jeeps computer. After a few hours of playing around and triggering functions of my car remotely. Honking horn, popping hatch, rolling down windows, lock/unlock doors etc. He said that it was every bit as good as Chrysler's $50k
Scan tool. I promptly sold him one for 1000$. Yes, 1000 if you paid more you got ripped.
