I love the romance between the two queens, staring each other down from across the battlefield, unwilling to kill each other despite it being strategically optimal
I also thought Ng5 is just giving your opponent leg room. Since your supposed to always keep an eye for the center in the early game but its also a very good mathematical strategical advantage. And it literally gives the pawn on h6 opportunities to simply move for the extra tempo. Would I do that. Nah I would continue to just methodically put pressure on the opponent via check. Because the only center the knight is giving is the e4 square and some sub center squares which are practically making the piece useless.
Two grandmasters playing a game at a level so incredibly high that there is absolutely no way for us normies to even begin to be able to deduce the skills and techniques at display here. Truly a match for the ages.
The title truly sent shivers through my spine. It was clearly thought through and the precise number of A’s and H’s was truly breathtaking. The exclamation marks send lightning bolts through my heart at how elegantly crafted they were. Truly a godly 10/10 Edit: Levi, stop changing the title every 3 minutes, I can’t update this comment anymore
The explanation of 90% of these moves is very simple: The players just don't analyse the whole position. Most 500 players look for a move they think is okay, and just play that move without considering other options. When checking if a move is "okay", they often just look to see if their opponent can capture the piece they moved. If they didn't see a good move or a threat the first time, they won't even look for it on subsequent moves until something brings their attention back to that idea. To be fair, analysing all the available moves is pretty difficult and even much higher rated players will often miss key ideas for the same reason. It's just most common at this lower ELO. Also I suspect that black genuinely thought the white pawn on h4 guarded the knight on g3 (as if it moved like a black pawn). Probably just forgot that white has the opposite perspective so their pawns guard the other way.
A thing I always do is look at every piece and it's position and what every move for thst piece achieves. Even in a logical takes takes situation, I still study everything connected to thst move in case I miss a better move or maby even blunder getting Checkmated. For me. Its more about controlling my impulse, and in the case of online chess, keeping my hand of my mouse and just simply looking. Even with this I will continue to have nightmares of this game.
I honestly like his unedited style; makes it so it's purely his delivery and the game itself that carries the video, and it also gives his videos a kinda more comfy vibe
