      I’d say he’s not playing like a 150, he’s playing like a 2300 who is trying to play like a 150. His ‘bad’ moves are too strong. If he wants to lose he needs to do Martin-style blunders.

      Even at 700-ish elo, if i press Allow chat, the vast majority of the time it's either someone making an insult/gloating, cuz they're winning cuz they think i'm dumb. or raging cuz they're losing cuz they think i'm dumb/lucky. I stopped bothering to click allow chat.

    It's really nice how you don't see at 23:40 that low elo is also sometimes just mean. Your opponent was in a bad position and though he was going to loose, so he offers you a draw as a deal to not waste your time until he gets kick for not playing.

    I see a lot of videos of people playing against 100 elo where they either use the 100 rated player as an opponent to do challenges against or just to mock them. I greatly appreciate that Levy is using this situation to not only avoid beating them, but also to educate us. Thank you very much.

    Really interesting to see inside the mind of a certain rating. It would be a neat series I think if you made a bunch of videos of different elo levels and we could look for patterns at specific elos, like maybe there is a really prevalent mistake made at 1300 specifically, for example.

      Jaja yeah they lost focus after the first mistake. I am only at 800, but I realized a big part of my push from 500 to 800 was overcoming frustration over a blunder and keep going.

    This video was really fun to watch! Please more of this! Also it's great to see that an International Master doesn't scoff at lower rated players and actually seems proud of them when they make a move that's good for the low elo level but standard if not an inaccuracy for their own level.

    I started playing earlier this year after watching one of your videos on how the pieces move now I’ve made it to 800 bullet and 980 blitz you’re a great teacher these videos really help as well while being entertaining

    We all started once upon a time. I remember just moving pawns. I didn't know how to move the other pieces. Back in the day as a little kid.
    It feels really odd playing again these days after almost 40 years without playing.
    Having to start all over again. I lose a lot!

    Ben Finegold said it often, the difference between him and a 1000 player is mostly that the lower rated player can play 20 moves in a row that are all theory. But they'll eventually blunder and he won't, so he win.
    I like this explanation, because it is true you can easily play the opening correctly. Do the basic stuff like develop all your pieces in logical places and not hang anything. But once it comes to forming a logical plan to attack and gain advantages, you fall apart instantly.

    I really enjoyed this video. I’m surprised gotham was complimenting these low players, since they basically play exactly how I do (I’m like 100 blitz, 500 rapid) and I definitely wasn’t expecting him to call this “good” lol

    Elo 100-200s won't know your channel. As soon as they watch a video or two (of the right ones), they will be 500-750.

    100 elo is a wide range of people. It can be anywhere from people who don't know anything other than 1 e4, to people who play 90% GM moves, but always blunder a major piece and then just lose all the time.
