The progression that IMO makes the most sense with expansions is for Vessel of Hatred we got a new class, but a familiar location to tug the nostalgia strings. The next expansion flips this, with a returning class (or similar enough one) with a brand new area. Let's be honest; most everyone saw Kurast coming lol. But without significant map expansion westwards the next two areas we could go would be Xiansai (Wizard from D3 homeland) or Skovos (Amazon from D2 homeland). Both locations would be amazing to explore, with East Asian architecture/locales for Xiansai and Ancient Rome/Greek influences in Skovos. The problem is that neither location really fits the Paladin/Crusader archetype...unless it is worked into the storyline somehow. Even if they did this though regardless of location some folks will be irritated that we didn't get a class more associated with the region. Personally, I'm rooting for Skovos and 2 new classes. Mephisto takes over the Cathedral of Light pretending to be Akarat reborn, and unleashes an invasion on Skovos. The paladin/crusader type (Inquisitor?) is a soldier of this invasion until learning the truth, while the Amazon/Myrmidon (same class, just different gender since Amazons are Amazons lol) serves as a defender of the islands tasked with stopping the invasion. It would be one hell of an expansion lol, and following the progression this leads to the next expansion featuring a new class but a familiar location. Lut Gholein and Aranoch would be just north of Skovos, and be a perfect setup for bringing Baal into the mix.
love the thought that you put into this! Prior to the initial release of Diablo 4, we did get images of a class that was either scrapped or tabled for later of a figure with a shield, spear, and what appears to be angel wings. It could be a mix of a Paladin/Crusader and Amazon all wrapped into one - a Spear and Board class? preview.redd.it/rathmas-prophecy-v0-0sjjlmjdhoua1.jpg?width=397&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9087f22a7a0916b00fa8a73b644fb68e647c8f7d
@@loatheburger That would definitely be cool, although I'm personally rooting for an Inquisitor type. A darker spin on the Paladin/Crusader archetype, with a heavier focus on fire and purity. Could even work it in as a former Burnt Knight. When I relooked at the map it occurred to me that I didn't remember the tilt of the continents, which opened up the Dread Lands as another DLC location. Might work better than my other thoughts, as it's right across a narrow strip of sea from the Dry Steppes. The home of D3's monks Ivgorod is here too, although then we run into the issue of do we go Paladin-archetype or Monk-archetype (2x holy classes in one DLC seems excessive)? They'd also have to make these Dreadlands very interesting, as it would be hard to top the visuals they could do with Skovos and Xiansai. There is also that conspicuous gap on the current map between Kurast and Howazar. Might that be a hidden area for Witch Doctors? If Blizzard wanted to earn some huge brownie points from the community a FLC class and small zone addition would do wonders.
I keep thinking that Xiansai is in the cards for us; it is now where Akarat's father hails from (was that always the case?) and apparently Akarat has a temple there. It would make sense for Antichrist Mephisto to journey in this direction. At the same time, we see a lot of Xiansai-inspired bundles in the shop and a recent cinematic showed us artwork of this region that we until this day have not seen in a Diablo game.
they made it clear that their classes need to be flashy and non traditional, we will never see a sword and shield class ever in a diablo game from now on (unless you want to count necro in d4)
Diablo Immortal has a crusader so I wouldn’t rule out a heavy armor class. There is only one shield using class right now and I can see some sweet looking shields be sold in the shop to entice not only necros, but crusaders (or paladins) as well.
Would be cool if Blizz made the Nephalem itself a class that truly embodies both aspects of angels and demons. Holy fire and Shadowflame. We already befriended a demon child: Alkin. In D3, the demon hunters use demon powers against hell itself. Sanctuary is already slowly embracing the idea of fighting fire with fire. If not a paladin or crusader: call it a Seraphim like the leaked class art way back pre-D4 launch. Imagine it could have angel wings, demon wings or one of each depending on your build. For D4 lore fans, keep an eye for Book of Prava coming out late November. It's about Prava exploring the other religions of sanctuary. I bet there will be tons of hints there. Awesome video, keep it up!🙌
Absolutely love ur content. Honestly i was a little disappointed with the campaign arc. But i also understand the developers are playing for the long game with this story. I am super excited for the next class and hopefully to get to fight a corrupted akarat and potentially a corrupted zakarum.
You know what kind of 'holy class' I'd like to see? A Templar. As in, the Templar Order from D3, reformed under Kormac. Gameplay-wise it gives players a "sword and broad" class, lorewise, it furthers the setting and avoids a repeat of the Crusaders/paladins of yesteryear. Heck, even a Pale Knight of the Knights Penitent would be nice.
With the Uber unique that has a damage buff against ANGELS and Demons, and events taking place in the expansion, its most likely if not hopefully that there would be a Paladin type of Akarat to start getting involved.. PLEEEEASE let it be the case.
I know this might not sound good but I do hope this is the end of Neyrelle's arc. I really wanted to like her but I don't think she should stay a major character, our dialogues about hope and friendship with her really doesn't fit the Diablo universe, at least to me. Everything else about the story was great, love where the story is going with Mephisto. Love the idea of making a Prime Evil an "Anti-Christ" character, very new and cool to add to Diablo.
I 1000% agree! Neyrelle's seems so forced into the Diablo story like a DEI inclusion. Let her "sacrifice" herself for the next expansion and focus on Lorath and the wanderer awakening themselves!
I feel like Neyrelle is attempt for a redemption for Leah from Diablo 3. I'd prefer if moving forward the focus goes back to Lorath as our main ally in driving the story. I also feel like Donan was such a well made character and it was such a shame that they chose to remove him from the picture so soon in D4's lifecycle
@@loatheburger Yes agreed I liked Donan! could of been our modern Deckard Cain and imagine him dealing with the death of his son! as a means to side with Mephisto as well.....sigh
@@loatheburger I agree, out of the 3 characters from the base game, they nailed it with Lorath. I like our character's interactions with him. He assists us but his matter of fact, realistic attitude is so grounding and great. My biggest fear is it seems to be hinted the Lorath will die soon and Neyrelle will take his mantle as our Horadrim guide. So that might suck...
I had the same idea as you, but i was hoping a new class with similar skill to pala and crus, or maybe just the name with a few lore tweak, like how paladin is the one who stay in kurast while the crusader was the wanderer looking for disciple, maybe another one go out to cities and train an army of the light.
I think that making Prava our friend (which is quite out of character) is a ground preparation for us to get the holy warrior class, but rather a Pale Knight than Paladin/Crusader, since they hail from Zakarum, not the Church of Light. I have some issues with VoH campaign, but I like the ending - possessing Akarat's body is sooo Mephisto. He corrupted Que Hegan in the past, now he's got the body of Akarat himsels. It opends up a lot of opportunities. Re Tyrael - I believe that he found out something about Diablo or Baal and that is what's keeping him busy. Once we meet Tyreal, we get to know some horrible news. And I can't stop thinking about what Mephisto said about his brothers - that our chracter can't fight them alone. It sounds like a suggestion, that Mephisto doesn't want Diablo and Baal around and he sees a room for cooperation with us, to get rid of his brothers. Last think - I don't see much lore reason to go to Xiansai, but I want this area to be in the next DLC. Hope we're going to see it and the devs will make Xiansai look awesome
I am fairly sure they already confirmed that Tyreal is dead. He became human in D3 remember and lifespan in the Diablo games is like 40-60 amongst humans.
@@Slashresto I haven't seen any info about his death. Donan and Lorath only said that he left them suddenly and he seemed to be afraid of something. We have a few quite old NPCs in Diablo, like Meshif (whom we met already in D2 and he was still alive in D4). Though I would like to see Tyrael dead. I liked him a lot in D2, he was annoying IMO in D3
@@ajsti91 I like the character Tyreal but from what I’ve heard, he is dead but you never know unless it’s 100% confirmed in the game which I don’t think it is. (mostly speculation.) He wasn’t bad in D3 , but I like imperius the most and wish he would come down and rain hell on everyone in his righteous way
@@Slashresto I've only heard speculations, that the grave Lorath spoke to during the base Diablo 4 trailers might belong to Tyrael. He called a person buried there "old friend", so it would make sense
I’m curious if the section of Nahantu that was left off the map is going to be connected to the next expansion with either the isles added or with a section from the western continent. Maybe there will be a way for us to travel to new map areas from there…
I always thought about what a modern D2 paladin would be like (not the crusader). I always kinda wanted zeal and vengeance to be combined into a new skill that unleashed massive aoe elemental energy. That would be so cool
The crusaders could actually team up with Prava and her church under Tyraels order and we get Paladins with angelic powers. For Urah I think that part of the map is too small for a dlc, we already have that part shown on the map, so most likely we wont go there or it is only used for a portal to hell and we get the realm of hatred as the real dlc map (as Lorath sealed the Caldeum one). What I'm sure of is that we wont get Areat for quite a while as we have barbs which will make it hard to do a new class
I REALLY hope a Paladin type class will be in the next expansion. Maybe even lead Tyrael if not the Zakkarum. I keep going back to D2 and D3 after every season just because I need my Paladin fix lol
Next step will have to be to do with something to do with angels because the new mythic unique helm on it has a passive of +200% damage to angels and demons.... I'm sure we haven't come across any angels yet to fight
Before even watching the video... I predict, the paladin in the arcane bridge sanctum from D2. Except it will be more like a 4D endless staircase world like in the movie "the labyrinth."
It has already been confirmed by Blizz that there will be 3 addons for the game before Diablo V. Vessel of Hatred is already released and considered a first addon. So the second exp will be battle against Mephisto, however he will succeed in ressurecting Diablo and Baal back to Sanctuary. THe last addon will be battle against the prime evils. Third addon will bring Lilith back. Yes, she is not dead and I think everyone knows why - we have her blood, but she won't be fightning with us, instead she will ally with us against the Prime Evils. We kill Prime Evils, Lilith dies in the fight against them and it will be the end of D4. D5 will continue the story and we're not fightning Hell anymore, we're fightning Heaven. Remember Imperius from D3? Well guess what.. he went rogue and completely mad (maybe even possessed by Diablo in the end of D4). He now thinks Humanity or Nephalems are far worst enemies of Heaven then the Hell itself, becasue they are able to destroy both Hell and Heaven. PS: Don't ask me how do I know all of this.
I just wonder if this is gonna be expansions or just being diablo 5. It really feels like the stakes are super high here with mephisto being in akarats body being a super threat with diablo and baal back on the way. theres no way this story is small enough for even 2 expansions.
I'm hoping for an amazon Paladin hybrid. Spear and shield, FOH and lightning fury will return, owl cast skill to blind enemies and shield charge as mobility. Will use holy, lightning and fire damage types
Yeah I had been theorycrafting this. I'm calling it a Myrmidon. In greek myth, myrmidons are the army/followers of Achilles. It would fit the medieval greek aesthetics of Skovos.
We got a piece of concept art before the release of Diablo 4 that had just this - a female holy warrior wielding a shield and a spear: preview.redd.it/rathmas-prophecy-v0-0sjjlmjdhoua1.jpg?width=397&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9087f22a7a0916b00fa8a73b644fb68e647c8f7d
My idea is that we enter Hell again via Ureh, and must face Baal and Mephisto forces as they are at war. Cause it's hinted the prime evils are not on the same page. And we kind need this to know where everybody is. Crusader or penitent will be next class of course and it will fit the theme. Had the idea that Mephisto has taken chaos Sanctuary to rule and baal has taken other parts of hell. So they can bring up realm of pain and anguish and have raid areas within those palaces for those lords
Seems that way based off of the interviews with Rod Ferguson (calling out Paladin specifically). Crusaders are pretty weak and beat down in D4 so I’d be surprised if we get one of them
My prediction is soon we will be fighting Inarius, Izual and Malthael. We had Uber Tristram, it’s time to put new uber helm with 200% damage vs demons and angels!
Awhile ago I wondered if they were going to bring in the Blood Knight but my necro pretty much is one and even looks like one except with a two handed sword. Reason why I brought it up is that I’m sure they’re still around after all this time and their hidden base of operations is literally under Gea ‘Kul. How could they be hiding with all the madness literally happening right above them? Perhaps they were wiped out since Diablo immortal or relocated. Aside from that it’s time they bring in a holy sword and board tank. My Rogue has Eye of Zakarum vestments and found it pretty legit that many of the skills give off a holy light aura/visual effects. Gave him the flesh rot mount since it’s the only mount that has any Zakarum relevance with the crusader shield trophy though it’s not fitting with all vines infesting the mount and the boils and rot on the horses skin. Hopefully we see the Zakarum come back and take the reigns in fighting against the burning hells. My Barb has a mount and armor but the lore behind it is the barbarian Klath was a victim of Zakarum inquisitors that pillaged his village so he eventually got revenge and smelted/forged their trinkets and armor together that he recovered off the dead. I’m sure we’ll get more Zakarum inspired armor/mounts in the future. Edit: another location in Estuar we haven’t visited you didn’t mention was XianSai. Seems pretty small though to create a big story.
Thanks for the lore on the Blood Knights! I havent tried them out yet in Immortal Xian Sai is an island nation so I wasn’t sure if it’s considered part of Estuar
Mephisto is no threat. Our Nephalim characters have already taken on ALL three Prime Evils at once in D3. Blizzard wrote themselves into a hole with that one.....
Interesting thoughts. I've been playing through end game myself. I've enoyed VoH but a little disappointed how short the VoH campagin felt. But some good twists. But I have been thinking Blizzard even though now owned by Microsoft, Blizzard ultimately will have to break the mould of how they've always done Diablo games since Diablo 1 came out in 1997. Diablo 2 only had one xpac, D3 only had one xpac, and if the mould is stuck with D4 is done with one xpac. However, given D4 has gone down the road of an mmo lite so to speak, that gives the ability to break the Diablo xpac mould. I hope if that's their plan to throw another 1 or maybe even two xpacs, This D4 iteration won't be the last honestly, I also don't know that I'd want D4 to stay as an mmo lite, and would want to be able to play it offline any time. I definitely sense at least one more xpac coming despite that's not how Diablo games have been setup in the past.
Next class is definitely sword and board. But it might not be from the paladin/crusader order. It should be about time for the return of the D2 amazon as an NPC with the army she was training since the end of D2. Bring on the MYRMIDON!!! Spear/Jav/Sword/Mace and Shield. Medieval Greek/Spartan/Roman inspired theme from Skovos Isles. Trained by the D2 Amazon in Skovos preparing them for the return of the prime evils!
I think a warlock class where we can summon demons and use hellfire similar to Elias if we ever ally with Mephisto would be great so we get both a light and a dark class.
Yes there was a piece of concept art showing a holy class with a shield and spear. It was either scrapped pre-release or tabled for a future expansion: preview.redd.it/rathmas-prophecy-v0-0sjjlmjdhoua1.jpg?width=397&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9087f22a7a0916b00fa8a73b644fb68e647c8f7d
I got a better question, where is the nephalem from diablo 3, at the end of diablo 3 expansion, tyreal implied that he will be either the saviour or doom, i cant think of a better villain than him,
The new cost spirit born is basically filling the role of a paladin in the way the class plays imo. A lot of the skills are basically derivatives of Monk/Crusader. If anything, I think a priest is the most likely to come . Or possibly even a Demon or angel class. I don’t think they would go with something already done before, Crusader was basically the lowest played class in D3 across 15 years so it wasn’t a success exactly. Also, why do you want exactly the same shit as always instead of new stuff?
@@douglaura2652 they have already confirmed three expansions so yes there will be more. Next will come in roughly 1 year, they said at blizzcon they aim to release one expansion per year give or take.
@@picklechin3061 Thats all fair, but question is does the majority want this? Cause the majority needs to decide what direction the game needs to take not the individual few (or we are no better then the woke assholes whos currrently ruining our games)
Something tells me we will fight along side Mephisto to stop Diablo and Baal and after that we will have to fight Inarius and the angelic counsel. Could be insane
There was some dialogue that seems to be overlooked (or I'm reading too much into it lol) where during the discussions regarding the plan to place the soulstone in Akarat's tomb. Eru mentions how he fears Mephisto's influence could contaminate the Spirit Realm, but the younger female (forget her name) challenged this by noting that this was true, but the Spirit Realm was powerful enough to change back. After taking over Akarat's body, charged with spirit energy for over a thousand years, could this actually change Mephisto? Over the course of the next expansion (or hopefully more) Mephisto himself might find himself being 'corrupted' into something else.
While I understand the disappointment of the story. I don’t think it is bad. I think it could have benefited from a few more missions but for what it is I understand the story that is trying to be told. Mephisto is getting his game guys just let him cook. Act 3 bosses need love too
The crusader can't be the next class(they get their power form Akarat and his spirit has moved on. The paladin is unlikely too as they most likely get their power from him too unless they find a new power source.
I don’t believe either get their power directly from Akarat. Akarat preached that all humans have the power of light within them from their Angelic half that they can pull from, which is what empowers them - unless I missed something 🤔
@@loatheburger The Rise of the Zakarum The Zakarum faith was founded many years ago, sometime after the Mage Clan wars by the prophet Akarat, a wandering ascetic from Xiansai. According to many historical accounts, it was during this pivotal time (in which humanity was beginning to reject magic for the comforts of religion) that Akarat received a startling revelation from a being he referred to as Yaerius. or "son of light" in his native language. While there is some debate among scholars as to the true nature of Akarat’s prophecy-specifically, whether the "being" Akarat saw was the archangel Yaerius or simply an echo of Uldyssian’s sacrifice at the end of the Sin War-its significance is undeniable. It is said that the vision, manifesting as a magnificent flash of light and energy across the sky, ignited the fundamental belief within Akarat that humans were powerful vessels of light, and that all should seek their "inner light" in order to live good lives. Found this. So I would guess arch angels can empower people based on crusader lore. But it is kind of merky.
@@loatheburger go back and look at the crusader quest line and their abilities. All of them come from Akarat/their fait in him. It'd be hard to get either from a now gone being.
It feels lackluster that they did not dedicate a whole act/expansion for each prime evil. VoH feels like it has too much filler content that couldve just been added to seasonal stories. If they are bringing back the prime evils, then they will be too short if they dont have an act each, or the whole campaign will be too long if they keep adding acts that has no resolution.
Was pretty disappointed when D4 released that I dropped the game quite early on. The ONLY THING that will bring me back to play this is a paladin or crusader class. I'm kinda baffled that it wasn't added from the get go...
Damn man😮 I started writing my own stories through tye inspiration of games and lore like the diablo series, it really, really sucks having to pay so much to experience these - especially when the paid content feels weirdly incomplete, but, as someone trying to write my own stories, learning how telling a heavy story takes a long time, I cant wait to see where the diablo story goes😮🎉 8/10 experience for me personally
In my opinion, the story of the Vessel of Hatred expansion has no depth, and it's extremely boring. If I could score the story, I would give it a 5/10. But Spiritborn, a brand new character class had a nice theme and I loved the design of the skills. But my favorite character is Paladin or Crusader, which I've played for the longest time in this franchise. It's also the class I enjoyed the most time in D2 and D3. I think it's a crime if D4 devs don't add a Paladin or Crusader in the near future 😞
I feel like Blizzard took a dip in writing quality. Even though I enjoyed VoH and that I would place it higher than Diablo 4, it felt a bit... meh. At least, Mephisto was done well. And what he's planning for looks promising. 😎 That, and humans losing faith in angels. I wonder how Tyrael will react.
I see how they are doing this DLC´s in the future, they gon be puttin in more and more story each time, i think Antichrist will be next, and yeah Paladin should return, but that will be a cliffhanger for the next demon lord to rise, somehow but before that i think they will make us wait a couple of DLC´s 😂 😂
I would prefer a Samurai/ Eastern Warrior class myself. Heavy Armor, two handed, dual wield. Crusaders are alright, but like why not get NEW classes we haven’t seen? Blood Knight would be a great addition
My knee jerk reaction to the story was that it was horrible. It definitely wasn't what the majority of players were expecting. The assumption was Mephisto was going to be the end boss. After watching multiple breakdowns of the story from you, and a few other lore heads, I have come around to it more. It seems as though Blizzard is setting up a deeper insidious plot by Mephisto other than I'm back to fuck shit up whoops now I'm dead again. So I will give them the benefit of the doubt that the next dlc will have some real juicy story arcs that are hopefully deep dark and brutal. The Akarat antichrist arc is pretty cool when you think about the chaos he can sew within the remaining Church of Light/Zakarum faithful that don't know what has happened yet. The one thing for sure that needs to happen though is Neyrelle needs to die. I really don't like her. Hopefully Prava crucifies her for bringing Mephisto back to Sanctuary.
Mephisto is considered the most cunning and intelligent of all the evils in Hell - I think they're doing a great job properly building him up and also giving a proper sense of power scaling for the wanderer + highlighting the immense strength of a Prime Evil. In Diablo 3 we went from killing 2 lesser evils in Act 2 and 3 to all of a sudden killing The Prime Evil Diablo with all 7 evils combined immediately after - which made no sense. Having Mephisto be more than a 'You're too late, muhahaha' stop gap like in D2 is very much welcomed
I never really liked Lilith infectng you with her blood. Just felt like another "Player is powerless" trope, I just headcanon it that I wasn't infected. I think it would be a bit harsh if Paladins or something close to it doesn't get released in the next expansion. Mephisto being in Akarat's body will definitely cause chaos amongst the Zakurum and the Church of Light.
I think it is consistent with the lore. Everyone is powerless, everything is futile in the long run. Most of the Diablo heroes suffered terrible fates or got corrupted. This world has no happy endings, only pauses in the eternal war.
We should have fought and killed mephisto and then this time next year we get diablo and paladin expansion, actually the only chance they had vs poe2 was for this expansion to be diablo/paladin, it's too late now.
Poe/ 2 is Trash. The Story and Lore in Poe is pure Trash Mate. Ive never Seen a Game with such poor music, Story and Art Design. The only thing Poe is good at, is build variety
Well no holy heavy armor class, ala paladin or crusader i dont interested. lets hope the best i will not buy this dlc so i need to wait at least 1-2 year from now to finally sit down to play diablo 4 again .
I don't think it is. I can imagine the next events to be like Akarat (Now Mephisto) walking Sanctuary and fooling everyone again, and being us as the only witness to what really happened, no one would believe us except for the Paladin/Crusader new class who could see through Mephisto's facade.
@@francisgene3890 neyrelle should have jammed that soulstone in her head and we should have killed her, she’s so annoying. That said I am keen to kill akarats hatred filled body
To me this show their lack of originality. They are going to replay the Sin War. Mephisto leading the evil church and Tyrael leading the good church. Lilith's blood will reactivate your Nepahalim powers and you will defeat everyone.
Many people claim that D3 and D4 story telling is too soft, not grim dark enough, and does not fit the Diablo world. I completely disagree with that. Both D3 and D4 and especially VoH story fits in the Diablo world perfectly. It's just the time window is not selected in a orthodoxy way in regards of a dark fantasy game. Many people say that the nephalem in D3 is too overpowered, but that's not the for the first time in Diablo world. Uldyssian during the sin war literally possess the same power, and did things much bigger than the D3 nephalem. And in VoH, despite all the major NPC keeps preaching love and peace and how good mankind are supposed to be, we literally saw how Nihlathak was born! Nihlathak must have felt the same way when he surrenders the key to the world stone fortress to Baal. Akarat's spirit have to die a second time because Eru betrayed him, yet Eru doesn't have any conspiracy against anyone, he followed the way of Akarat as best as he could, until he reached his limit. Akarat's way utterly failed, it failed to even hold his faithful to reject the temptation. Although his ideas preaches hope, yet he pushed his follower into the abyss of desperate by his own requests. This tragedy is the most Diablo arc I've ever seen! It's fits in the world of Diablo perfectly, just past Diablo games are not set in such time period. We are used to chase the aftermath instead of witness its happening. That would give different feeling to players, but that doesn't mean the story is bad or not fitting the world setting. And for the burned knights, a major theme of Diablo 4 is family conflict. Divorced parents, abandoned kids, father and mother have completely different plans for educating, etc. And we saw that both the cathedral of light and the triune playing as the role of dependent children, while the Horadrim and the wonder tried to act like a grown up person. If you put the burned knights into this theme you'll realize they are kids that gets mad with parents' absence. The heaven didn't "abandon" humanity. They stay away from sanctuary exactly to preserve it. Not to say that the Angiris council have lost two of its five members - that's not just two members lost, it also means two major section of the heaven are in lockout, due to how the heaven works. So I think what the burned knights said about the heaven is merely a foreshadowing, to serve as a contrast to the future event that the angels actually come. And for Prava's cathedral of light - the faith is built upon that an angel will bring deliverance to his followers. And now that angel is utterly dead, and the church is in a difficult situation. I guess Prava will be super happy if another angel came to replace Inarius's empty space - ideally it would be Tyrael, but if the heaven does open its gate to sanctuary, I think that'll do too. That leads me to the early leak picture about a holy warrior with wings on its back stood beside other heroes. Half-angels, or some kind of selected saints, or perhaps heaven's anointed, would looks exactly like that. That would be the perfect holy warrior setting, and obviously more powerful than any other holy knights in the current situation. I do miss Tyrael too. I can't stop thinking about what matter caught his attention so much that would make him left Lorath when Lorath so desperately needs him? Could it be that he's on his quest to get in contact with the angiris council to call help? Could it be that he's trying to find a way to ascend once again? Lorath mentioned that Tyrael doesn't "answer" him. But in what method? Did Tyrael not replying his letters, or Tyrael didn't answer his prayers in mind? So many mysteries! I really can't wait to see the next part of D4's story!
So you get speculation but not anything solid. Kinda like Rhyker's "confirmed" b.s. I think this video is utterly wrong and you might be fos, but Im willing to listen to you, no matter how utterly off this video will be.
You're my #1 content creator to bring the story of Diablo closer to me, because of the great efford you put into your videos. thanks for that!

It could be a mix of a Paladin/Crusader and Amazon all wrapped into one - a Spear and Board class?

"Bringing in Paladins has to make sense" the expansion literally takes place in Kurast where the Zakarum came from.
That statement was crazy
they made it clear that their classes need to be flashy and non traditional, we will never see a sword and shield class ever in a diablo game from now on (unless you want to count necro in d4)
Diablo Immortal has a crusader so I wouldn’t rule out a heavy armor class. There is only one shield using class right now and I can see some sweet looking shields be sold in the shop to entice not only necros, but crusaders (or paladins) as well.
@marinalexanduradu7384 the necromancer can literally wield a sword and shield.
Awesome video, keep it up!🙌
Glad to see your newest video gaining traction, well deserved
Would be interesting if they added in a knight class with different paths like holy, blood, dark and knight. It would allow for some unique combos
Absolutely love ur content. Honestly i was a little disappointed with the campaign arc. But i also understand the developers are playing for the long game with this story.
I am super excited for the next class and hopefully to get to fight a corrupted akarat and potentially a corrupted zakarum.
Tyrael can take over the mantel of Akarat and start the new Church of paladin class
My brother has been wanting one ever since the older games and D3
(mostly speculation.)
He wasn’t bad in D3 , but I like imperius the most and wish he would come down and rain hell on everyone in his righteous way
@@Slashresto I've only heard speculations, that the grave Lorath spoke to during the base Diablo 4 trailers might belong to Tyrael. He called a person buried there "old friend", so it would make sense
@@ajsti91 yea that’s what im thinking
I’m curious if the section of Nahantu that was left off the map is going to be connected to the next expansion with either the isles added or with a section from the western continent. Maybe there will be a way for us to travel to new map areas from there…
Definitely possible - or for future seasonal content
Ureh has been updated again, there is a counter/vendor sort of space next to the path
I always thought about what a modern D2 paladin would be like (not the crusader). I always kinda wanted zeal and vengeance to be combined into a new skill that unleashed massive aoe elemental energy. That would be so cool
Tyrael is too busy farming for rawhides, obducites and resplendent sparks at the moment.
I Dont care how you know this... what I wanna know is if I have to buy each addon cause fuck me the campaign was so short and added nothing
All demons are immortal and respawn in hell once killed. So of course Lilith will be back.
There will be diablo5? Also on the story plot I also think we summon Lilith back
I believe we will see Prava take up sword and board and we follow her around for the next part.
Valkyrie/ Valravn class. Holy Shield/spear class would be awesome.
Yeah I had been theorycrafting this. I'm calling it a Myrmidon. In greek myth, myrmidons are the army/followers of Achilles. It would fit the medieval greek aesthetics of Skovos.
We got a piece of concept art before the release of Diablo 4 that had just this - a female holy warrior wielding a shield and a spear:

@@Dave-sw8yh Id LOVE that!!
@@loatheburger Cant wait to see what they do next!
We need more melee skills and minion types
Please blizzard gives us a Paladin not a crusader pleaseee
Seems that way based off of the interviews with Rod Ferguson (calling out Paladin specifically). Crusaders are pretty weak and beat down in D4 so I’d be surprised if we get one of them
@@Tildradain a Myrmidon dude. Dont worry next expac we will have the Paladin x Amazon Hybrid. I'm sure of it
@@Dave-sw8yhactually I can see potential in Amazon paladin hybrid. And I wold not mind it. Because mostly I want a shield + javelin based class 😂
Lool , what I have realized is that the paladin archetype has been the main villain of D4 (including the expansion) all along
My prediction is soon we will be fighting Inarius, Izual and Malthael. We had Uber Tristram, it’s time to put new uber helm with 200% damage vs demons and angels!
Really enjoyed your video, thank you
Awhile ago I wondered if they were going to bring in the Blood Knight but my necro pretty much is one and even looks like one except with a two handed sword.
I havent tried them out yet in Immortal
Xian Sai is an island nation so I wasn’t sure if it’s considered part of Estuar
Mephisto is no threat. Our Nephalim characters have already taken on ALL three Prime Evils at once in D3. Blizzard wrote themselves into a hole with that one.....
We need the witch doctor class next
Just give me crusader/pala
I hope they do two new classes in the next expansion. An unholy knight that channels Hatred and the paladin.
I think we will need lilith help, and find way to bring her back
Interesting thoughts.
We just got to that point. I'm excited to merc zombie Jesus
lets hope they do a better job than south park did
I wanna know what happened to nephalem from d3
Yes me to. I want to have an answer in the next expension.
90% of sanctuary's population died according to the lore so might be he dead too
it is group of adventurers, not a single nephalem now.
I think we’ll see a holy class raise from the Church of Light but it won’t be a “Paladin” but similar.
I think a warlock class where we can summon demons and use hellfire similar to Elias if we ever ally with Mephisto would be great so we get both a light and a dark class.
I like that idea, warlock also hasn’t been done before. Pet classes in general hasn’t been done a lot.
I thought there was a leak like a year ago that said there was going to be a paladin type class?
Yes there was a piece of concept art showing a holy class with a shield and spear. It was either scrapped pre-release or tabled for a future expansion:

a Paladin type class? your comment scares me, it best be a Pally, not something that kinda resembles one
Definitely want a sword and board class necro isn't really that
I think they are going to bring Azmodan and Belial
I am calling it, Akarat isn't gone
The road leads back to Tristram.
I got a better question, where is the nephalem from diablo 3, at the end of diablo 3 expansion, tyreal implied that he will be either the saviour or doom, i cant think of a better villain than him,
I made a video speculating that here:
Diablo 4 Lore | Where's The Nephalem? A Hunt for Diablo 3's Hero
ua-cam.com/video/21YWIPrlrUk/v-deo.html
I ain’t buying an expansion until Paladin is added
Well it's highly unlikely there will be another expansion for this game as Blizzard has never done more than one expansion per Diablo game

We Need Crusader Paladin class, but name it as a TEMPLAR
A scorned Paladin class that taps into both holy and infernal powers because he’s moved past his petty faith and simply pursues power would be hype af
Oo i like the idea of an Oathbreaker Paladin for sure
From what we heard from developers it seems like Paladins/Crusaders are not ever going to happen. But something "you have never seen before"
Templar class. Or a witch
Something tells me we will fight along side Mephisto to stop Diablo and Baal
and after that we will have to fight Inarius and the angelic counsel. Could be insane
That would be insane - not against the realm of possibility. Curious it we get more dialogue between the actual lords of hell as opposed to D2
In fact this is the idea, Mephisto allways wanted to get rid of his brothers
But Inarius died in base game
While I understand the disappointment of the story. I don’t think it is bad. I think it could have benefited from a few more missions but for what it is I understand the story that is trying to be told. Mephisto is getting his game guys just let him cook. Act 3 bosses need love too
Akarat spirit can become an Angel?
The crusader can't be the next class(they get their power form Akarat and his spirit has moved on. The paladin is unlikely too as they most likely get their power from him too unless they find a new power source.
I bet tyreal will show up and replace akarat or whatever.
I don’t believe either get their power directly from Akarat. Akarat preached that all humans have the power of light within them from their Angelic half that they can pull from, which is what empowers them - unless I missed something 🤔
@@loatheburger The Rise of the Zakarum
The Zakarum faith was founded many years ago, sometime after the Mage Clan wars by the prophet Akarat, a wandering ascetic from Xiansai.
I want demon class🤤 something like Aldkin
It feels lackluster that they did not dedicate a whole act/expansion for each prime evil. VoH feels like it has too much filler content that couldve just been added to seasonal stories. If they are bringing back the prime evils, then they will be too short if they dont have an act each, or the whole campaign will be too long if they keep adding acts that has no resolution.
Was pretty disappointed when D4 released that I dropped the game quite early on. The ONLY THING that will bring me back to play this is a paladin or crusader class. I'm kinda baffled that it wasn't added from the get go...
Priest would be cool
Is the next part of the story likely going to be a DLC?
They just need to find a shard of world stone and re awaken the wanderers nephilim powers
A new nephilim class with both angelic and demonic powers
Damn man😮 I started writing my own stories through tye inspiration of games and lore like the diablo series, it really, really sucks having to pay so much to experience these - especially when the paid content feels weirdly incomplete, but, as someone trying to write my own stories, learning how telling a heavy story takes a long time, I cant wait to see where the diablo story goes😮🎉 8/10 experience for me personally
cool, so that means the next expansion is where the story gets good, and this one is to just balance the game.
Basically
That, and humans losing faith in angels. I wonder how Tyrael will react.
I really hope we get back the powers from Diablo 3’s Wizard somehow. I’m still furious that they took my fucking lasers and black holes.
I strange playing a diablo game without duablo in it
What about valkyries. Aren’t they holy spirits sent by a goddess? Bring us a heavy armored holy Amazon!
So something like pala.
Probably follow the girl for another 3 expansions before one of the greater evils appear
Definitely possible if we end up in Xian Sai for a Fareast Themed class! That’s where we got the Wizard from
If they don't release the paladin class, many people are gonna riot and be done with this game.
I wont be surprise if people make a petition to add the paladin class in the next season or expension.
100% not true at all
the game sucks soo much im not sure a Paladin can save it, just like D3 this game wont last 20+ years D2 is the GOAT
DOPE!!!
Next is vessel of love
Tyrael will take the soulstone of Diablo and then when you kill Diablo the eternal conflict ends
PALADIN NEXT AND WEST MARCH/TRISTRAM FFS !!!!!!!!!!
Next expansion Westmarch, Diablo, Paladin or uninstall.
I just wanna fight Diablo god dammit
We should have fought and killed mephisto and then this time next year we get diablo and paladin expansion, actually the only chance they had vs poe2 was for this expansion to be diablo/paladin, it's too late now.

Anyone else highly disappointed in the voh story? It felt boring and predictably written
I don't think it is. I can imagine the next events to be like Akarat (Now Mephisto) walking Sanctuary and fooling everyone again, and being us as the only witness to what really happened, no one would believe us except for the Paladin/Crusader new class who could see through Mephisto's facade.

Predictable=/ bad. It was just mid when it wasn't focusing on Mephisto and the soulstone. It needed one more act though, it was cool.
It’s Blizzard my dude. It’s all garbage story telling.

Whats next ? PoE2 😂
im pumped for PoE2
So you get speculation but not anything solid. Kinda like Rhyker's "confirmed" b.s. I think this video is utterly wrong and you might be fos, but Im willing to listen to you, no matter how utterly off this video will be.
