It's amazing how meathook would make this absolutely unplayable, while other sweepers are fairly manageable.
Isn’t it already banned? Why are you still complaining about it? It’s gone, you seemingly got what you wanted, and ultimately it was good for the format as a whole. Move on.

People still play depopulate, which would work. Definitely not as brutal as meathook but I’m glad that’s gone lol
@@reidyo5404 depopulate doesnt necessarily gets rid of Mondrak, and this deck doesnt have too much trouble rebuilding if Mondrak sticks
I'd love to see Mondrak along Tamiyo and Ob Nixilis! Could even include "Kaya, Geist Hunter" to double those copies! Would make for an interesting 5-color deck.. if it even works.
Mondrak would not copy the Ob-Nixilis copy as it is a spell being copied, not a token being created
@@jordansparks140 but can still double the ob nixilis devil tokens. There are some mardu lists floating around

Patreons get to suggest and vote for decks btw. Like, this could happen.
@@MidgarMerc copying a permanent spell will cause it to enter as a token which is not the same as a token being created

It fine. Its not like he flooded or was mana screwed. The ONE good thing about those decks is that its over quickly. Unlike mono blue who takes FOREVER to decide to counter something that they need to counter...
@@luisgutierrez8047 Sure, but while the opponent barely did anything, LVD wasn't even close to winning. But yes, at least it is over quickly.

I hope they ban this bullshit. In many cases you can't even play anything and they just cast a few 1 mana spells to win.
@@luisgutierrez8047 if they go first you litterally do not have time to use any interaction that can effect their board. remember, target removal is litterally to their benefit as it just kills you faster, so you are pretty much required to use board wipe to deal with the issue, and even then if they have slip out the back you've just wasted your turn which is usually the end. I love ivy, I've been rooting for her to be a deck in standard, but the rot preists litteral only counter is not drawing her
This is a really cool deck. Arena really hits that dopamine drip when you make dozens of tokens.
I love how you flash the other cards you're talking about in the video just incase the viewer doesn't know what card that is. CGB doesn't do that. Great MTG channel.

I'd love to see what kind of shenanigans you could get up to with anointed procession, parallel lives, and Mondy here. Maybe break the game due to the sheer quantity of tokens? You'd have to find a way to get around the limit though
oh you clearly do, 3 anointed is very much high enough to easily crash and tie the game
May I introduce you to scute swarm. Breaks the game all by itself, even with the token limit.
@@NoFutureForG0uda I'm reminded of that one guy who made a video where he created like 256 anointed processions. Then crashed the game client with no survivors. I think he made a few million tokens or something crazy.
@@moalboris239 and this is why the token limit is on total tokens and not individual types. So people don’t murder a server or two.

Jetmir seems like a natural payoff in this deck, though the 4 drop slot is quite crowded

@@dumplingdepinto im tempted to remove a wedding announcement, its crazy to say but it feels a bit underwhelming. Also, only one or two as you said, only to instantly reward rabble rousing
@@NoFutureForG0uda Not that crazy, really. Often, what this deck wants is to resolve a Rabble Rousing with something that gets instant value. A Wedding Announcement just draws a card if you get it with a big "Go Wide" push. A Jetmir can make that push _explosive._

Jetmir seems like a Win-More card.
It might close a game you were already winning (like in the Wedding Announcement game we saw), but it won't pull you back from the brink.
That is certainly a savage deck
Would love to see a couple copies of awaken the woods or white sun's twilight as a back up mana sync for those treasure piles. white sun + king darien giving tokens indestructible is a combo I've been having a lot of fun with in my mondrak decks

I really want to get a Mondrak + Ratadrabik combo going. I've only pulled it off once, but my opponent already had victory in the bag
Yeah, both Mondrak and the black dominus have interesting interactions with Ratadrabik, I'm waiting for someone to make that deck.

Play this deck in paper to stall the entire gamestore figuring out each turn, counting gala greeter triggers etc

Ooh I saw an Orzhov version of this deck that used Sorrin to make twice the vampire tokens haha
Get rid of green and splash some black. Remove gala greeters, stim package and the briefcase. Get Devilish Valet and Kaya in there ASAP. You could also add a few Captain's Call and/or Burn down the House, these are great behind a rabble rousing if you've got a valet on the field but even as 4 and 5 drops they're incredible. 12 devils for 5 mana is insane, with or without a valet on the field.
Having Mondrak without Kaya just feels wrong.

I came back to add some card changes I felt like vastly improved my games.
I took out 1 join the dance. I didn't find it as useful without mondrak out and a late game 4 1/1's was meh. With mondrak, did I really need 8? I was already winning on board.
I took out 1 Adeline, I rarely drew it when I wanted, having double white on turn 3 wasn't the easiest either.
Cut 1 Stimulus package. Like you mentioned in the video, two is redundant and feels bad if you have one out already or draw two in your opening hand.
The 3 cards I added to really speed up the deck was 2 platoon dispensers and 1 nissa animist. The platoon can use mana to make a token, two with mondrak. It's another late game mana sink and the card draw is amazing! Plus a 4/6 inst easy for them to get past while you might be needing to rebuild or set up the board state. Two was the perfect number it also gives me something I feel is useful on the rousing. Getting the hide away on a 2 drop or so wasn't that exciting... Speaking of potentially exciting rousing hit, NISSA! Why spend many turns stimulus-ing with mondrak and greeter trying to build a nice state or flooding swing after swing of roused tokens, when you can nissa and make double big tokens! Also the minus isn't craterhoof sized, but the little boost can help and trample on those double big tokens she made!
vesuvan duplamancy plus mondrak is really fun because it quickly gets out of hand when the copies of mondrak starts copying the copies of the copies
Match 3 was actually crazy close. At least, it seemed close; not that you’d ever know it by the commentary

Mondrak is fun with ratadrabik. If mondrak dies, you get 2 copies of mondrak, I believe

I wonder if Symmetry Matrix could fit in a deck like this. So far I've yet to see anyone on YT or Twitch feature the card but last month I had a nice Matrix/Edgar/Clerics deck which did OK even without treasures or powerstones.
It's just a little too slow for Standard I'm afraid.

Out of curiosity, why is Jetmir's Garden the only triome from New Capenna without an animation? The other four triomes have animations, I'm fairly certain. Just wondered while watching this.

I think cutting one Stimulus Package for one more Wandering Emperor would be fine since they feel bad when you get more than one on the field
Don't like to fight the deck in standard, but looks like a fun strategy for edh.
I wonder whether devilish valet would be useful here? 40 tokens are probably sufficient to win on their own, but 2^whatever trample haste would be a pretty spicy meatball.
Would certainly end the game a turn sooner, but at the same time can be a bit win-more.

I've often been curious, LVD, how do you spend your wildcards? It seems to me that using them on dual lands would be a top priority.
Spending them on lands is never a bad choice since you will need them at one point anyway unless you only play Standard and even then they are a high priority choice

No halo fountain or explosive singularity for a one of style win!? Lol sure it wouldn’t be as consistent but it would be pretty fun as a win condition
Could this deck be made to work in Best of 3? Feels like you would just get wrecked by (additional) sweepers coming in from the sideboard, with Farewell being especially brutal.
Farewell is indeed very rough. The cool thing about Mondrak is that it can set up a lethal board in the opponent's end step alongside enough Treasures and Stimulus Package, so you can sometimes still win through a Depopulate at least.

I've been playing on Explorer and have encountered Obliterator numerous times as an expected "automatic win" when actually it's really nothing special. Token decks like this are far more difficult to answer, especially if they have a quick start.
Love the deck. Thank god Meathook is no longer in the format.

@LegenVD yea I made one, but I'm not great at deck building. Land base is meh. Every colorless land and a dozen white for Seraph and the 2/2 prototype/ 4/5 vig. I have almost no interaction. I feel like a win ⅓ of the time. Love watching ppl with go for the throat or the new mite: "wait, it's all artifacts? And my mite can give colorless protection?!"

The new cards feel way too broken. Like the most powerful cards from previous sets feel like they don't even compare to some of ONE'S uncommons
