Want to see what an 8 sleeved MTG commander deck looks like underwater? We did that.
ua-cam.com/video/MmqS-tGrHqw/v-deo.html
I got 10 sleeves on my yugioh cards using random sleeves for yugioh and mtg cards and other things like credit card holders and such but after awhile you're risking bending the cards or compressing the edges even though they're smaller...
(also, for yugioh i think they only recently started allowing double sleeving for tournament play at my locals in the last few years)
Do playing cards (maybe even plastic playing cards).
I had a friend who got rejected because they didn't like how he numbered the backs of the cards with glitter.
Better be a Death Shadow deck and I might be persuaded to watch 😂
@@nonameimpotantlive9233who would want to use such a bad deck
"What brands are you using?" That is the sound of a man who has been looking for a way to do exactly this and has been unsuccessful
I love how the issue wasn't the amout of sleeves it was just the Quality control
absolutely, just go through the process again wearing clean gloves and it'll be swell
The outer layers that aren't designed for CCGs are probably a different type of plastic that pick up smudges and dings a lot easier. Since they seem to be designed for sports cards (which you don't handle that often) or maybe board game cards which are generally not played competitively so you don't care that much about small marks.
@@Phyrre56 It also might be the light refracting, through all the plastic.
All of those sleeves is BAD quality control though... You aren't protecting the card from outside elements any more by just sticking more layers of plastic on it, but you sure as hell are putting more stress on the edges of the card every time you handle one with that much weight surrounding them. If you are really so scared about damaging your cards that you are wanting to put 6 sleeves on them, don't handle them.
@@ShaggyRogers1 its a joke bro
Now, you must test if the Tolarian Community Community College deck box fits a 6 sleeved 100-card Commander deck in the main compartment. Because if it doesn't, it means that we all need The Academic II to be made.
I was talking to my wife about this at lunch today. I'm fairly certain it won't fit in the academic I showed on camera, but the larger academic will 100% fit it!
It might fit if you put some of the cards in the top compartment?
It doesn’t.
I have the academic and it comfortably fits my triple sleeved cEDH deck. It will not hold a quadruple sleeved deck, let alone a sextuple sleeved one.
The Postgrad
Im glad the judge gave the reasoning that the sleeves make the cards look marked and even said if they all looked the same you would be fine
I love that the judge you got to deck check you was the one who brought the Ruudi deck to PT Baltimore and swindled the UPF judges into letting him play an adult hero for the laughs. This community is great. Please never change.
No YOU ♥️
@@DMArmadagive these to shaq and he'll use em as if they were normal perfect-fit sleeves

Could you please link or reference me the video?
I wanna watch it, thank you!
The judge's enthusiasm is wonderful. He certainly had to demonstrate a lot of restraint to not just go "What the hell is this?!"
If this video gets 500 likes, I will do this to a Commander deck.
Please don't make me do this to a Commander deck...
I hope you picked out which Commander deck you'll definitely have to sleeve 😅
@@RedZoneRogue yeah, about that... I may have a discussion going in the discord trying to figure that out 🤣
I made a second account so I could like a second time 😅
@@merlinpiper7731 oh you son of a gun.
Love your content keep up the good work!
You could continue your sleeving journey by putting the 6 sleeved card into a ziplock sandwich bag, then a quart bag, then a gallon bag, then sealed in a food safe vacuum bag.
That was my original thought just for comedic effect!
Fun fact, i did this with Yugioh already. Yugioh has perfect sleeves too, and the yugioh mini hypermattes fit perfectly inside mtg perfect fits. so you can get to 8 sleeves!
Oh man I gotta octuple sleeve my Labrynth deck
Can you still see the card in there?
Time to 8 sleeve my battle of wits deck
unfortunately completely illegal :(
@@ozzysmith2571 and u even get dq'd from locals, policy update was so strict, a guy with a whooping 80k deck showed up on our locals with tripple sleeves (tripple for a good reason), yeah he got dq'd with no entry packs on round 1
You can go for a 7th layer using sleeves meant for MTG Planechase cards. Usually 88 x 125. Must go deeper
11:35 that dude in the background was eating food with his hands, and then immediately started touching your deck. Good thing you used 6 sleeves
And THAT'S why we have nice things!
Oh jeez he did too. That hurt.
He was out of frame and there was a cut could have wiped his hands lmao I hope
@@danielfishburn7042 lol that wasn't much of a cut to wipe his hands, there wasn't any break in the conversation. You can see him rubbing his fingers together over the plate to "clean" them. :p
@@mehra6712if you pause he licks his fingers. He’s good to check decks 😊
Man, you were so close to 6 sleeves! I believe it can happen.
As a fan of the number Seven though, I do suspect you will need to get a legally playable 7-sleeved deck to finish your journey. Eight is too many. But SEVEN!? You'd go down in history.
What about 10?

"These cards can survive re-entry"
Underrated comment
I was actually looking for this comment :D
That is the next step. Get the deck into space to the ISS and a astronaut will go out space walk with the deck and will fling every card as hard as the astronaut can into retrograde direction. If the cards get found on earth somewhere than yes they survived a reentry.
Your problem is the clear backs. You would need a black back on the outmost layer to hide all the imperfections. That's why tripple sleeves work: You have those black back dragon shields for that that hide everything beneath. You could probably wear silk gloves for the sleeving process to not leave any marks, but every clear layer on top adds to the risk that they appear marked.
I'm both sad and relieved I wasn't the judge selected to do this check 😄
That sixth layer would probably have been fine if the blade on the paper cutter had been sharpened at least once since it was manufactured in the 1840s.
That was my thought, too... If only I had the extra time with my big paper cutter!
To be fair, those things basically never need sharpening for paper.
@@grantmurdock7385 exactly!
@@grantmurdock7385 that is a false statement. If you have one that you regularly work with at your place of employment, i strongly encourage to have it sharpened just like, once every 10 years and feel the difference.
Granted, they work for paper, especially smaller batches, even when really far gone. But it could just be so much better, especially if you tend to slice larger badges of handouts or let alone something that isn't plain white copy paper like card paper or photo cartonage.
I was forced to turn so so so much expensive cardboard stock into frayed pulp until we finally had ours sharpened, and it was a revelation.
Also of note is that you need to ensure that the bolt of the blade is tightened properly. If its even slightly too loose the blade wont be close enough to the platform edge to cut cleanly@@SeleenShadowpaw
You should have used sealable inners for that extra layer of back protection.
they're also GREAT at trapping air so every card turns into a tiny pillow.
Former teacher here... I'm sure you know, but that old, crusty, cutting board you have is the Cadillac of cutting boards. Power, precision, speed... it can do it all. We used to have teachers from all over campus come to our common area to use ours.
OH MY GOD! The hotel has the awful one that teachers would never use 😂
yup@@nickstreif480
I've been triple sleeving for years, thank you for helping bring the sleeve game to the next level
The second I saw that paper cutter I thought, “what, is this dude a teacher?” Sure enough. I only say that because it looks like the paper cutter in my classroom… game recognizes game.
You're one of the REAL ones. 💪
FaB Playing Teachers Unite! (5th and 6th Grade Art)
lol my art teacher has one of those huge ones too. She uses it to cut down final project paper and stuff like that where it's pretty big paper.
My family has one for 4-H stuff. I was so confused when he said "teacher" cause I have never actually seen one of these used by a teacher.
This pretty common for Weiss Schwarz cards, or at least it was a few years back. Some folks would run a perfect fit, an undersleeve with a frame design, a character art sleeve, a sleeve protector, a rear frame design sleeve, and finally the oversleeve. It wasn't like an "Every game someone is going to be 6sleeving", but it happened enough that it wasn't a bizarre thing. I was using 4 sleeves myself, and I still doublesleeve every card in YGO when I play
I double sleeve all of my Digimon decks (DS perfect fit sealable and DS regular gloss) and also all of my cardfight vanguard decks (regular small size sleeve into a standard size sleeve for the outer layer), because, even if they re not that expensive, it FEELS so much better to play double-sleeved, and also protects the artwork on the sleeves so it doesnt wear out in time.
Although, i don't have that many decks, mind you.
Now we need to see a commander deck done this way.
I thought 500 likes would be a bit too lofty of a goal... I might have been wrong.
The deck would look god sized compared to your ant sized hands... now shuffle

Love this challenge. Can't wait to see you 6 sleeve a commander deck in lab conditions to avoid contaminating the sleeves
lmao yeah I feel like the judge was a little rough on the markings and such. Some of it was a little worse for wear, but I feel like any unsleeved deck wouldnt make it past the judging criteria without be an out of the pack grade 10. I doubt anyone's bringing unsleeved decks, but still XD
@@randomguyontheinternet5030 card game tournaments at any rules enforcement level above local gamestore casual level do not allow for unsleeved decks, due to scratches and damage on the cards allowing someone to manipulate a deck unfairly. Even if the deck was completely undamaged at the start, simply shuffling it could cause more than enough damage for the cards to be considered marked
@@dutch6247 yeah that's fair. I dont think we had anyone actually playing unsleeved decks anyway. People would just look at you weird if you did, but wouldn't stop you, and the main reason they'd look at you weird is cus you're messing up your cards. Locals is small enough, and the specific card shop/time I went, there weren't enough people to actually take it seriously. I think it was like 4-5 players on the average sunday as opposed to saturdays having like 15-20 so we just went to hang out, duel, and kill an hr or two. Nobody was taking it seriously enough to cheat, let alone mark cards by destroying them with an unsleeved deck.
judge weighing in here, there is no rule in the CR or TR for Magic that requires your deck to be sleeved.
He still needs ti find custom order sleeves for layer 5 n 6 so he doesnt have to cut them all in the worst possible way
Judge: "How many sleeves are on here?"
Armada: "The answer is 'yes"
😂😂
For layers 5 and 6, Swan and Mayday substitutes could be Sleeve Kings (they have 2 thickness - standard and premium) or Paladin sleeves. Swan though has very weird sizes so they may not have analogues in Sleeve Kings and Paladin.
I feel like 5- and 6- sleeved variants should be called "Pentasleeved" and "Hexasleeved". Loved the video!
Those are Greek prefixes, I don't think it's right to be mixing both origind.
In Latin based I think it would be quitasleeved and sexasleeved
Each card in my deck has its own clear boulder deck box as the final outer sleeve

I love the reactions of the vendors and the judge.
Am I the only one who protects their cards by dipping them in epoxy resin?

@@hanakoisbestgirl4752 I don't what game he is referring to, but Yugioh only just altered their rules recently to allow double sleeving.
@@Mega1russell Yeah he is more than likely referring to Yugioh thanks to cheating with improper double sleeving being rampant back in the day so they banned it then recently reallowed it stating you must now properly double sleeve it but instead of calling it double sleeve they call it over sleeve because they love being overly fucking complicated about things. Like seriously it should not have been banned in the first place as common fucking sense

This was such a fantastically absurd and amazing video that was extremely well done! Thank you! It must have taken a lot of time in the editing/post production, but probably less time than sleeving the deck. I'm glad that I'm subscribed to your channel. Keep up the awesomeness!
When I started sleeving my board game collection, I was primarily using Mayday clear sleeves. Partially because of how many size options they had for the diverse card sizes board games can have. Cool to see their sleeves featured here. Their customer support people were great to work with too.
I am so glad this got into my recommended, your editing was entertaining, you crafted an entertaining story out of it and you're at 3.8k likes so its going to be a very fun commander deck
He has over 10,000 likes now lol
Funny thing, my Yu-Gi-Oh cards (in a Japanese-sized sleeve) fit *perfectly* into the Dragon Shield Perfect Fits that I got for my MTG cards, which of course fit perfectly into Dragon Shield sleeves as intended. It's surprising how well they fit together.
Ok, loved the fact that you're working on a big tournament and beside resting you tried to SIX SLEEVE a deck.
ACCURATE
I just loved how much the judge laid into it hahaha
6 sleeves as a person who spent a good hour double sleeving a shutter to think how long that took to do.

"These are protected against scratches, dents, dings, nuclear winters..." LMAO great content, I've only sleeved decks 2-3 times but this is making me want to play more!
My dude we can make this happen! We just need gloves, cleaner environment, more precise cutting. Hell yeah we can completely do this in the revision! 😂
Sweet, I didn't know Flesh and Blood had commander decks.
14:09 The judge nonchalantly removing the 5th sleeve has me 💀💀💀
This was hilarious! IIRC Yu-Gi-Oh! has very strict rules surrounding their sleeves, and I don't think you can get away with triple-sleeving there
Yeah they have a dimension that your cards actually have to be, you can't play unsleeved. (YGO has had a lot of cheating over the years)
Really? I play yugioh but never like YCS or anything. It was all locals and stuff, but we weren't too harsh on card markings or anything. Plus a lot of the MTG rules I've seen feel a little harsh too like certain keywords being used that forced people to actually skip the phase they intended to go to (I think it was "combat" skipping your beginning of combat phase and pushing you right to declare attackers) and just other shenanigans of "well technically".
Guess it depends with YGO then, I've only played online. And yeah that ruling about going to attackers was really unfair, but they've changed it since
Shout out to Matt and the front desk attendant. Homie Matt said yes and did it while looking like a good time was had the whole time. Everyone needs a homie Matt

If I may suggest a yugioh deck may I suggest a P.u.n.k zombie loop combo that allows you to loop to summon an 100+ material zues to the field (this would let you have a monster with every 7 sleeved card stacked on top of it) as I feel it would be very satisfying to see.
Yes, use that Zeus + Zombie Curious loop by Dawnstar at MD (ik it is banned irl, but would have been legal), and see how high that Zeus can stack with TWO whole SIX sleeve'd decks under it.

I just watched a video of a man sleeving up some cards with some epic music under it and i loved it !
And that's why I'm proud of you
This is the epic mealtime equivalent of a card video. Love it.
When I was a kid I had a rare pokemon card and I put it in 3 or more sleeves to protect it. I sleeved them opposite directions thinking it would keep anything from getting in, like lamination. A tiny amount of condensation got into it and disintegrated the card because the liquid couldnt escape.
This was such a fun video idea. Loved it, but I think I'll stick to 1-2 sleeves for now.
I think you're better off for it 🤣
A while back just out of sheer curiosity I stuck a card in a Dragon Shield sealable inner sleeve (and nothing else) and submerged it in several inches of water for about 20 minutes. Came out completely unscathed
id love to see a version of this with a yugioh deck, didnt see too many other people agreeing tho
You could put even more on since those cards are smaller.
An 100 card mtg commander 😂😂
No need to find a judge for that official policy forbids more than 2 sleeves
13:24
"How many sleeves are in this?"
"The answer is yes"
I don't know you or this channel, but I love it so far
You can actually go bigger then those swan sleeves by getting the sleeves made for the old commander giant cards. 129 mm x 910 mm.
I was thinking about grabbing those and the ones they made for the oversized Transformers TCG cards, but I couldn't find anything to "smooth out" the transition between them without looking absurd 😂
Different brands of "perfect fits" can fit inside each other. Also the side loaders usually fit around the perfect fits as well.
The beginning felt shaky but the ending was worth it
That dude’s shuffle was very satisfying. There was no issue for him shuffling those. Lol
Aaand this is why yugioh limits you to double sleeving
Silliness aside, the dragon shield perfect fits and dual mattes are incredible. They fit perfectly and are super clear. They really let the art on the cards pop
There is actually a rule already on how many sleeves can cover your cards
You can do 6. You just need to sleeve it with protective gloves on so you don't sweat all over them.
Is anyone else concerned about Armada changing his look from school teacher to youth pastor?
Hey, there's worse looks!
My deck was triple sleeved. I took incredible care of my elves when I played MTG. Craterhoof and tokens quick easy multi kills when I played it. Once tore apart a table of 4 other players in a single combat! Had to sell my deck when times got tough but hey memories are made to be remembered.
Omg! This is best. Please do more😝🍻
I'm gonna need to use Ziploc bags if I go any bigger...
This reminds me of Gillette and their razor blade marketing: “Everybody thought 3 blades was enough, but we’re upping it to 5 BLADES!” 🤣
Could you get another sleeve or maybe even two going by starting with a japanese sized game (i.e. YGO) rather than a standard sized game?
Edit: commented too early it seems
I bet you this will be the most popular comment!
I knew Swan would be the perfect bridge for the last sleeves, they have such weird sizes for sleeves and I love it.~

Nah, that's just where the good part starts
This has the same energy of the dudes who brought a thousand card deck to a YGO tourney in which they got an upper limit size added to decks because of it.
i believe the penny sleeves by ultra or bcw can go in between the perfect and regular dragon shield
I tried that but they crumpled too easily and don't allow for a flat finish without a lot of finagling!
Was really surprised to see that you were wearing the Levia shirt I was commissioned to designed at the end of the video
The professor's deckbox is so premium I love mine so much
You forgot to put them in multiple ziploc bags, then supermarket bags, then trash bags, then car covers, then tarps, then hot air balloons, then blimps.
