Eminem Dissed His Mom So Hard, She Sued Him

  • Eminem dissed his mother so bad, she sued him, and not for an insignificant amount either. Eminem's mom sued him for $10m, with the lawsuit eventually succeeding, although not for the amount that Debbie Mathers initially expected. This event had come after the time Eminem got sued by his childhood bully, marking just one of the many times Marshall Mathers got sued.
This is, The Time Eminem Got Sued By His Own Mother.

"You don't do this to your mom" is the worst excuse you can have. I'm tired of that being used as an excuse to justify abuse and neglect from parents, they have to show love and respect to recieve it, nobody is ever just entitled to it. After all if you choose to become a parent then it's your responsibility to stand by that and act like it, not start charging your kid for rent and getting mad when they vent about you. Children were never asked to choose their parents or be brought into this world, they were born to be taken care of by those who CHOSE to have kids. It's also a reflection of the choices adults make, kids growing up with a parent like that will obviously influence and reflect their own path and decisions in life. It's basically generational family trauma in the long run, pretty hard to break that chain. There is a lot I can get into honestly.
Edit: why is everyone who's disagreeing with me bringing up invisible things I've said 💀

As someone with a similar relationship with my mother, I just wanna point some stuff out to those defending eminems mom. Pay attention to her actions everything is monetarily motivated. She was charging him rent as a kid, or he could get out. He spits a few lines venting about her and she sues him. She makes a diss track and a book trying to make money off of him. She denies everything, gaslights him and claims to be an exceptional mother instead. This stuff is just so familiar to me that I believe him, I know exactly how women like this work. She only cares about money and peoples perception of her. The fact he went off and became a massive success pains her because shes not entitled to that money. So she does whatever she can to make an attempt at it. The mother she described herself to be under no circumstances would sue their son. And if thats who she was theres no doubt in my mind eminem would be grateful for her and take care of her. But she didnt invest her love in him, she never expected him to ever be a success. So she learned the hard way. If she just showed her son some love, she wouldnt have to worry another day in her life. But hey atleast she doesnt have to pay for her own burial, Eminem already dug that grave for free.

Thank you to someone who get it, there are "moms" out there who care more about what people think about her than fixing what is wrong in the home. I can probly tell she never spent a single day doing something like teaching him how to drive or cook, she probly just went out to party when she get the free time. I had the same resentment, almost end up a delinquent until my aunt took me out of the house and I actually became abit poorer but because my auntie showed she care with the things that mattered I ended up happy. My mother always tried to pretend and yell saying she was a good "mother" but my aunt never once said something like that or that I owed her, she gave me a hug saying it was gonna be alright on the hospital bed and that was more love than 15 years with my mom. Now working to pay off a house me and my aunt live where we work on the garden together, never heard from my mother again and it all feel too relatable.

Honestly she sounds like my mum lol. Those of us who want nothing to do with our mums were abused children who’ve been left with permanent psychological issues as adults.
I really don’t believe his mum, and I’m questionable about his half brother. My own bio brother is my mothers favourite, she made that obvious by enabling him to violently beat me, the homophobia, weaponising my disabilities, he would tell the world she was a great mother and I’ve no reason for cutting contact for nearly a decade, and she will play the narcissistic martyr. Thing is, I’ve a folder of evidence that says otherwise, from hospital reports to things they’ve said themselves, proof of theft, eye witnesses from childhood of the violence, eye witnesses from adulthood of the ableism, but that doesn’t matter to the two of them because in their eyes, she’s a perfect mother and could do no wrong.
So I’m extremely skeptical of his mother and younger brother, he could’ve been favoured and sheltered from her awful behaviour, maybe I’m biased being a child abuse survivor, but it’s extremely plausible.
It’s the narcissism, neglect is totally fine, my own mother was so neglectful that I had to raise my brother as if he were my own child from about age 12 (she just didn’t want the responsibility of parenting but wanted to be a mum? Yeah idk), I had to make sure he was fed, clothed, our bills paid so we had shelter, she went off and partied, brought random men to the house and loudly had seggs not caring if we heard, she would constantly have random men round because she couldn’t be single for more than a week and relied on them for money. So to a narcissist it’s insulting being called out for your abuse, but neglect, ableism, violence, theft, not only enabling your son but encouraging him to dish out those violent beatings (because in her eyes “I didn’t hit you so I’m not abusing you”), that’s all totally okay.
Narcissists can’t handle being called out on their behaviour. My mother only tried contacting me after I cut contact near a decade ago to harass me, to threaten me, to scream at me, there were no apologies over her once again weaponising my disabilities against me (PTSD & cPTSD, cripple with mobility issues, bedridden disabled) to the point she tried withholding my meds from me, she’d invited herself to my home with no warning and tried pulling that behaviour, then was angry I found my meds (I’m in constant pain, I NEED those meds for my nerve damage), and I’d had enough.
So she drove home (I’m Scottish highlands, she lives Scottish Borders near England) and texted saying
“That’s me arrived home, late because there was a road traffic accident. Bet you wished it was me who crashed and died.”
So in short, narcissistic parents can never do wrong, they can never acknowledge their behaviour, they try and excuse their BS (mother used her own abusive childhood, when I managed to break the cycle of abuse, strange that), there’s always a “reason” why they behave deplorably because they can NEVER admit doing any wrong. Marshals mother? Of the same cloth as my own.

The way his mother went about things, trying to save her reputation, was very similar to how my mom would go around making sure everyone knew her side of the story, and trying to invalidate anything the actual victim said. She would try to get sympathy by playing victim and treat everyone trying to help her like shit, just like how his mom treated her lawyer. I'm sad that he went back to her in the end because I know the manipulation tactics used by people like her is what made him go back. His grandmother when saying how much she cared, and for his younger brother how he wasn't even allowed to make friends until he got older. That sounds awful and reminds me of how my own mother didn't let me go out or do anything. Yep my grandmother is upset with me because I don’t want to change my name back to my maiden name and will instead use my middle name once my divorce is finalized. The thought of carrying on that name and giving it to my second child that’ll be born in a few months makes me sick to my stomach because I associate it with my abusive and neglectful father. Instead of understanding where I’m coming from. She sees me as a villain for it and thinks I’m forsaking my grandfather (who was a saint but I just don’t associate it with him like that) and my family (who watched the abuse and neglect take place and did nothing to help me while abusing their own children in different ways) and she wants me to just “put it in the past and rise above it”. She doesn’t understand that changing my name is my final step towards healing and doing just that. It’s depressing to be the villain of the story when you’re simply trying to escape the actual villain. I’m deeply traumatized and damaged from my parents’ abuse but I’m supposed to just let it all go and forget it simply because “tHeY’rE fAmIlY”.

Doesn't mean things were done that shouldn't have happened to him, and his younger brother standing by his mom can be normal especially if he's the youngest, not to mention parents don't necessarily treat every kid the same. There's so much bias within family systems it gets messy and it gets hard to say who did what
The only true thing is it fucked with Eminem, it hurt him permanently, whatever it was.

There's something to be said about the greatest art coming from the people with the most pain, and Eminem, at least in his earlier days, truly made art unlike anyone else before or since. He's obviously had a lot of growing up to do from then to now, and it seems like all of his relationships were strained in some way, but I'm glad he's learned to be more forgiving and make amends for everyone important to him. And hey, Headlights is one of his best modern songs to date.

As a society we need to stop looking at troubled kids/teenagers that lash out as "kids being kids" there are so many signs from children of abuse and trauma whether due to mental torment through direct abuse or neglect and neglect is still abuse. These are the kids that can also end up being murders or end up addicts or suicidal. And we can stop these children from ending up like that if schools actually paid attention and worried about these signs and if Parents and CPS would do their jobs.

    • @KennyJohnson-ym6ux

Let me get this straight, CPS. You will put my friend in foster care for 2 years because of dog hair on his jacket even though he has loving, protective parents but not my friends who constantly talk about abuse. Rolls royce brand clothes with absolutely no stains? You must have a good home. A good home is more than being able to get the newest gaming console, CPS. It's about loving parents and being able to eat and have somewhere to sleep. My dad can't afford to buy us a Range Rover with tinted windows and new phones every Christmas, does this make him a bad parent? No. He raised me to be nice to everyone and he made sure to get past any financial struggle he went through for his kids. Eminem's mom was like the opposite and that's where CPS needs to come in. Not for kids who have old clothing or houses over 30 years old, or kids who get excited over a penny. It's the kids that act horrible that show no home training and the kids that talk to people about a bad life at home that need it. Did your dog get excited when you wore black clothes that day? Go inside and wash your black hoodie. But now you aren't wearing one. A problem with CPS now. At least you won't stain it with school food. Wait, why are you eating school food? CPS will think you're starving. Don't eat it. Wait, a CPS worker asks why you aren't eating the food. Bullcrap that needs fixing. They're the opposite of CPS. They make kids miserable most of the time. Screw you CPS. And thank you to the understanding CPS woman who was dispatched to our house and didn't take us away for a food crumb on the floor. I will make sure to pray for this woman to be protected at all costs, and for the CPS members who just want money to quit their job. You won't leave any more kids in need behind by doing that anyways. CPS needs to get it together.

@@tohsakamine I'm agreeing that they can't do their jobs either. They have no idea how and just choose ordinary kids for the money. Darker peter pan type of stuff. And some parents don't do their job, but CPS ignores it. I really think CPS needs to do their job and ask bullies more questions. They likely have no home training. I don't believe that all bullies are kids with alcoholic parents. Some just have parents too dumb to discipline them, and those kids need CPS to warn those parents.
