This has to be the most simple vegan nugget recipe I've seen. I'm not interested in achieving the chicken flesh texture, so all the freezing and other complex steps other recipes call for are superfluous to me. Thanks for sharing Liv!
I can vouch for this and i am not vegan, this is so good!! I made this before however I use your tofu dipper recipe and added some paprika and the nutritional yeast for the dry mix reallly give its a savoury taste!! I love it! I also love dipping the nugget in the maple mustard sauce you created

I wouldn't suggest to freeze them after baking. Freeze after frying! If you bake things the molecules of the food are mutating and they don't change back while freezing. so if you bake them again the molecules will change even more due to the high temperature. At one point elements like carbon dioxide can form up and make the food poisonous. It's as if you'd be eating burned food. Sorry if it was to much science about only one short sentence. I'm not actually vegan, but do try to eat a more plant-based diet than that with which I grew up (switched to soymilk, reduced my cheese consumption although haven't totally eliminated it, etc.) but I grew up eating vegetarian food at home so I never want to cook meat. If the recipe does turn out well, this will be such a great healthy snack that looks more affordable than the store options!

I made your nuggets the other day and they were great. I used the pieces I cut off and made popcorn tofu out of those. I had the leftovers cold out of the frig the next day and they were great. I just tried the recipe and thank you so much!! It’s so good and it’s honestly taste like mc nuggets. I used to eat a tone of them before going vegetarian and now I’m so happy I can have them cruelty free 😍
These were so good!! I just made these and they’re absolutely awesome. I added some season salt on them after they were done baking but other than that the recipe is perfect, it’s easy and simple and I literally had all the ingredients in my house already. These do however remind me of fish sticks because of the texture of the tofu, if u wanted to make them more like a fish stick I’m sure u could add nori to them somehow❤️❤️❤️

You can also marinate the tofu slices in some vegan chicken-flavored broth before coating it. I've done that and it really improves the flavor. :)
So true. The longer you marinate tofu the better it picks up flavor. I've marinated overnight before and the flavor was incredibly delicious 😋

I made these and added a seasoning mix I got from Trader Joe’s & cooked them on a wire cooling rack to make them more crispy super good

So you lay them in water instead of pressing it out?
@@alpina4115 you press the water out, then freeze. After unfreezing, you soak it in some meatless broth just for a while
