I just made this yesterday for dessert! I topped it with Tru-Whip, fresh strawberries and Lily's chocolate chips for a healthy dessert! It was a hit!

She’s using angel food cake which is much different than a regular cake mix. Have you tried it with a chocolate cake mix?
Why not; just add unsweetened cocoa powder and incorporate it into the cake mix then add the cherry pie filling.

I make a strawberry cake where, I use a strawberry cake mix and, I put fresh cut up strawberries in them and, I figured out with a few short cuts, I make the icing with not a bunch of loaded sugar!
