- We did not have nearly enough time together, but I am grateful for and blessed by the 36 years and 8 months we walked through life together. Bret will always be a part of me, and I see him in our children and grandchildren.
My world is spinning, and everything has changed. My loss is greater than anything I have ever experienced before. Yet, I am blessed beyond measure because I know Bret is not lost. He was sure of his Salvation, as am I, and our separation is only temporary. This eternal HOPE and our shared faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, gives me the strength to continue on, to live, to love, and to laugh again.
Thank you all for your prayers, love, support and kindness. You have blessed me beyond what any words could express. I pray our God Bless You All!

I know the editing in this is not what you are used to from Bret, but we are learning, and I promise it will get better. Unfortunately, we lost most of the photos from the last 5 years when we were editing, so we will be adding a short specific slide show to the end of the next few videos. We also, have a song that was recorded just for this video by Megan Poore that we could not get into our editing program, so it will be in one of the upcoming slide shows as well.
I can never repay Reverend Bill Duncan his comforting encouraging message or the Cosby and Honeycutt Families for the beautiful music they provided for Bret’s service. Bret would have enjoyed his funeral. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Oh Becky, my heart is aching as I watch this video. I was 1 of the ppl who received 1 of the first 2 boxes and I think about that quite often. When I received that box in the mail I cried. Cried because I needed it so bad, cried at how generous you all were to send it to me with no questions asked. What you did for me at that time could never truly be repaid because of how much it meant to me. Someone cared about ME, someone who didn't know me and never met me cared about how I was when it seemed the world was coming to an end as we know it. Since that day things did get better for me and I was able to do the same for someone else. That made me feel wonderful to know I was able to make someone else feel as you had made me feel. I'm so sorry you going through this. It will take time for you to process all this I know. I just want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Dear Sister in Jesus I am so sorry for the loss of your love. I recently lost my dear husband to pancreatic cancer and others wanted to say the same thing. Becky, I believe you are on the right path. My wife became bedridden in 2015 and on April 20, 2019 while eating breakfast she drifted off and was gone. I am in your shoes and know your pain. Keep your faith in the Lord. We were married in January, 1972. You will miss him all the rest of your days, but you will go on because the Lord is with you. God bless🙏👍
Im new to your channel and just came across your memorial to your husband, 3yrs ago or so. Love how you both serve the Lord and your meals. I lost my beloved Linda 10 years ago to cancer. I remarried but now she has dementia so I do all the cooking. I am almost 80 so I appreciate your simple approach to recipes. Thank you so much and you are in my prayers.

I’m so sorry, Becky. My husband died at 59 almost 7 years ago. He died unexpectedly of a massive heart attack. We were married 39 & a half years. He was my very best friend. September 8th is my oldest grandson’s Birthday. Your husband’s with Jesus now, waiting, just like my Jim is, for the rest of us. May God give you & your family Peace & Comfort. Blessings. My son just came upstairs and asked me what I was doing. I told him " Remember the nice lady who taught us how to make apple fritters? Well, she just lost her husband." He paused, looked down and solemnly said "Please tell her how sorry we are and we hope she's okay." Our family didn't know Bret and we don't personally know you but we share in your pain and loss. We love you.

There is definitely a look that believers have if they know the Lord. Bret is where we all hope to be someday. I am glad you will continue your channel. I, too, am retired from a Hospice. The people who passed who knew the Lord were peaceful and you could feel the presence in the room. Such a difference from the unbelieving fearful patients.

I love this. You are spreading the message of Jesus's love. Remember in your grief that this life is just a blink in time and then you'll see Bret again forever. My mom passed in May. She loved the Lord. Before she died she saw her momma and something beautiful. She was nonverbal but her eyes got huge and she pointed and kept making an excited noise. Becky, I am so very sorry to hear about your dear Bret! My sister died at age 36 and my brother died at 53...both from diabetes. I am the oldest of the three kids. I am a carnivore, and I eat only any kind of meat, fowl, fish, and seafood. At this point my blood sugar is perfect. My doc states that I am as "healthy as a horse". I thank Jesus Christ that I am alive and waiting on the Rapture at any time now! Thank you for your ministry and your love for the Lord! I just watched your Alaska trip! What a blessing that was!! We go to Towsend to visit the Smokies twice a year! We live near Destin, FL, near the beach , but we also love the mountains! We pray for you often! ❤

First time I’ve watched this tribute to your Husband you’ve been blessed with a love that sustain you I’ve cried thru this and totally understand your feelings and I don’t normally feel but I have a true love that almost left me to soon due to Liver failure due to a fatty liver it destroyed my world thinking of her leaving me without her but God made a way quickly once death was imminent and she got a perfect liver to match and it’s been 5 yrs and I’m eternally thankful! I couldn't have said it any better.
I am so sorry for your loss. My husband suffers with type 2 diabetes 20 years now. He can verily walk now. Neuropathy ravages his whole body. I was diagnosed with stg 4 breast cancer with bone metastasis. I didnt know how we were going to make it . He says i hope we both pass at the same time . I do to and for our relief a lot of times i hope soon. I have lost a child he was a month shy of being 17 years old . Losing you husband is the same deep hurt . Which is why neither of us want to be left behind for a second. My husband in all his pain takes care of me. The chemo and radation the first year did awful things to my body. It is a trial and error just when things were begining line out a bit i fell dislocated and fractured my right shoulder and fractured my right humorous. Because the cancer is so prevalent on the bone and my copd is so bad they couldn't do surgery so healing is long and slow. Did sedate me to slip the shoulder in place. My husband as sick as he is has nursed me back to health. I will probably be doing physical therapy soon. He is determined to get me well. He has helped with cleaning and cooking. He does all the transporting. All off our children i have children and spouse's and give us as much help as possible. My daughter stays 2 weeks out of the month and takes care of him and I because by that time he is exhausted. He tod me he can't get sick he has to take care of me because no one loves me as much as he does . So my illness is what keeps him alive. I enjoy your videos and the word from God so much and they help me come up with things that we can cook you both have been such a blessing to so many people and even though he has passed you both will continue to be a blessing.

Dear Becky, you and your family have been in my prayers. When I was 15 and my brother was 12 (back in 12,20,60) we lost our 41 year old minister father to diabetes so I well understand what you went through. My husband died on 12,10,12 to renal disease. Last year on 12,15,21 we lost our beloved son in law to covid while I was in a nursing home for 3 months due to covid. Although my mobility was quite poor before, it is almost nonexistent now and will never get better. I am not writing this as a "poor me" note but as a "Praise God" note as he has NEVER once failed any one of us. We truly know where all 3 of these men are and we were all able to be with each man as he died. Mom and Dad had 17 years together, Harry Sr. and I had 42 years together and Heather and Rick had 22 1/2 years together so I can truly say "God is good." The VERY LAST words each of these men told each of their wives were "I love you." I thank God (and Harry) constantly for those words as they are such a blessing and comfort to me. While I will be observing the 10th anniversary of Harry's death in December, 5 days later in December Heather (our daughter) will be observing the 1st anniversary of Rick's death. Well, this REALLY seems like a "downer" note, but I assure you it is NOT. There is NO way any of us could have survived without the loving presence and guidance without the love of our Lord and Saviour. As a fellow sister in Christ, my love and constant prayers are with you and your family as God guides you though this difficult and painful part of your journey. All my love and prayers. Becky, my husband died at home alone. He didn’t want me there. I went to work thinking I’d see him again. He too was diabetic also had a bad heart. It was his heart that gave out. We only had 15 years but I know I’ll see him again one day. I pray for your peace and comfort in this time. God is our rock and our salvation. Stay strong!!!

@@sharontaylor2243 I am alone too. Two ingredient biscuits, were good. I just make one at a time. I have to force myself to see again too. New Hampshire seems far away, probably as Oregon to you. My 2 kids are not close either but I love the weather where I live. My sister is about 20 miles away, we text but don’t drive too often.
Funny. Becky has me in the kitchen. I hate cooking, I mean I hate it. I fail miserably most of the time. Yet, after watching so many of her uplifting cooking vids, I decided heck, I’ll try again. So I tried Becky’s country fried chicken. The one with the ritz crackers. As I was breading them, turning them over and over in the crumbs, I remember thinking how much I hate cooking. And how much those chicken tenders weren’t getting covered as well as hers in the video. Well, I cooked them up in the grape seed oil, because I listened to Becky and I like to cook healthy. And low and behold, they came out GREAT. I have since tried 2 other meals while watching Becky’s videos. And it was good! God Bless this woman. I am so thankful that God lead her to share her cooking with us.

My father freaked out and remarried 10 months after my mom died which was so dishonoring to her memory, I thought. Anyway, I’m so sorry you lost your other half. You’ll be in my prayers.

I was devastated to hear this so can't even imagine how you feel. Your love for our FATHER will/is giving you strength. As I cried I was hearing your words of how Bret didn't like tears but I just couldn't help it. One reason I became familiar with UA-cam and your channel is because I am a very sick Insulin dependent Type 2 Diabetic ....but I've already made 68. Bret was just too young. Our prayers are with you all💕
Usually type 2 diabetes is treated with oral medication. However, people with diabetes are more likely to be susceptible to the Covid virus. As with polio, measules, mumps, even smallpox, we were all vaccinated.

I have only watched your channel a few times..but I just caught this video by accident. But again maybe it wasn't an accident. I lost my husband this past New Years Day. This time last year he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. It happened so fast. And it has been almost 9 months and it still feels like yesterday. So I truly know your pain and it is painful. We were together 32 years, which was half my life. Now I am working on a new life living alone. It is hard, it is sad. But the only thing you can do is pray, keep busy, and stay strong. God bless you that you heal your broken heart. Mine is still healing....I guess it is gonna take awhile. God bless.

Becky what a wonderful testimony of Bret's life and his love for Jesus and his family. As I listened I just to you talking I kept thinking how the Lord gave you such grace and strength to be able to do it. Mark 10:8 and they two shall be one flesh so they are no more two but one flesh.So take all the time needed to adjust to all that has happened. Still praying for you all.
One good thing about the Lord, he has for us when we are born again, is eternal life. Brett is truly enjoying himself but with no pain,no hurt or sorrow. He simply moved his residence. My sincerest condolences to you and your family in this life, but happy celebration of Brett in his second life. The Lord is a God of second chances. When Brett went to be in the presence of the Lord, the Lord said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Brett is an example many men can follow. The Lord is good to all and his mercy is everlasting! He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. We may weep for the night but joy cometh in the morning. The Best of the Lord be to you and family.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It is so difficult to carry on with half of yourself missing. We, though, as daughters of the Most High King, have our heavenly Father to protect us.
