I hope it's Aerith alive in the flesh, the other FF VII storied timelines support Zack and Aerith dying and together in the timestream. Aerith would have completed calling the timestream to heal the earth at The City of the Ancients after Cloud blocked Sephiroths Sword meaning Aerith would been in the flesh. But instead the timeline changed, who knows but I hope Zack, Aerith, and the rest are all in the flesh in the final fight

@@slyktech1860actually there is a theory that says aerith it's neither death or alive, she's between worlds, and cloud it's able to see her in one of these as you can also see that he's able to see the sky from other realities at the end of the game

Hello, i know this is not your first time here, i know You've felt this before, this sense of powerlessness, anger and sadness.
It's been 27 years and I bet you are still crying.
I will NEVER recover from this. Again.
“The dead are never really gone. They live on within those who loved them.” -my grandmother. I admit while I am confused by the whole scenario it only matter what the characters mean to us.
That's a really beautiful sentence on passed loved ones. I've always felt the slightest of unease when thinking of the afterlife.
There are literally two scenes I where we see Sephiroths’s sword stick in the ground after attacking Aerith (2:00). The floor is different, one is behind Aerith which is the scene where cloud successfully deflected the attack and then we cut to a different floor (2:04) where the sword sticks in the ground that did in fact impale Aerith. This is also the scene where she dies, as Seph pulls out the sword and it’s covered in blood. The party grieves, because Aerith did die in one timeline (the OG game timeline), which is the one we followed up til then as players. There are definitely at least two timelines at play, but how these alternating timelines get resolved and merged, only part 3 will tell.
Good eye, such a small detail and you were able to see it.
I think a lot of people miss it but "Cloud" really was able to save Aerith but thats another timeline. Its just that Cloud is seeing the part where he was able to save Aerith when it fact he was not able to.
His seeing other timelines mistaking it for his own.
This is really gonna destroy his mind.
Either way its gonna converge in the part 3, looking forward what it gives.

As Karyna_isabelle pointed out, there was a time-shift of sorts after minute 2:00, so it seems like fate was altered, rather than Cloud having been looking at a different timeline. Also, the flashing scenes with Cloud saying things (which were likely his words from the OG game when Aerith died) were clearly not being said by Rebirth Cloud, but images from other timeline (i.e the OG one).
Fun fact: she will return..you fight first vs fate...u will fight it again to change the fate. U just see how you protect aerith but was the same as we see in the other game..and even he talking to her. So she moves the fate himself. At least...u can see this time..was cloud who kill her..check what tifa see..
@@DanteObscuri That's exactly what happened. Cloud saved timeline B Aerith, then the shift back to main game timeline where Aerith is killed and the minute the reality shifts back to the main timeline of the game he starts crying.
Basically, he is holding BOTH Aerith's at the same time in almost the same position. Timeline B Aerith calms him down by opening her eyes and putting a hand on his cheek and basically saying "Chill out! I'm fine! This will all make sense in the end"
Remember back to the dream land/dying dimension? Aerith's eyes while Cloud is confused have that look as to say "Play along! Okay?" Cloud calms himself and assures her and gets his head back in the game.
Cloud isn't broken up at the funeral because he knows SOME incarnation/counterpart of Aerith still exists and she will be back at some point. Everybody else thinks Cloud is going further off the deepend by the minute because they couldn't access the overlapping realities and they just saw the OG Aerith die. Also if that is timeline B Aerith walking around and talking with Cloud then she is somehow able to project her image and voice from the other timeline and converse with Cloud, she just can't be there anymore because her physical body died in the games main time line.
All the Aerith's we see are pretty much sharing the same soul and mind, if one dies it simply goes back to the life stream and they seem to be able to gather information from each other on what's going on.

We have suffered enough back in 1997 already over this and trust me, this is nothing compared to her death in the original because it was so unexpected and shocking. At least now we all knew that it was supposed to happen. No doubt it's the most heartbreaking death scene in the entire history of video games ever...

I was a huge ff7 player with the original... nothing hits harder than this in the original.. even this one too ... maybe it's me but the og hit sooo much worse you play soo many hours get attached to her an then boom ! Everything gets personal going after sepheroth past that . An ya I definitely cried for the og and this one was close too but not quite as sunk into this one not the way I was for og ff7.
Tifa really broke my heart at the end, everytime I watch this Tifa always gets me back into another round of sobs

@@pearljaime2 It's hard to say whether Cloud actually has PTSD or not, but the dog senses Aerith because of her ability, when she touches it. If you have played, before that, Malin told Zack the future, which was also because Malin received that ability through a hug.
I think Is the right things to do the developer providing gamers with few different ending depending on Cloud choices and interaction with the characters, the ending including he ended up with Tifa or Aerith, and dead or alive of Aerith. That's, not just remastered the game, but freshen the whole game for players.

So when the entrance was blocked by whispers Aerith only allowed Cloud in. This is important because the rest of the party doesn't join him and are at the other side of "destiny's crossroads".
Cloud deflects masimune thus denying Aerith's fate. Cloud and Aerith are now in a new timeline while the others are still in remake timeline. So Cloud can now see the sky and talk to Aerith. The rest of the party see's her destiny as it should've been.
So yes, she's alive.
I'm diligently reading your comments here to finally get an answer to the question of whether Aerith survived somehow/somewhere? I had so much hope for the Ramke because Aerith has been my absolute favorite starter since 1997 and her death broke my heart as a seven-year-old little child. Today I'm thirty-two and this moment broke my heart again. Please tell me that she survived because she opens her eyes where Cloud tells her to wake up. I cling to this moment, that's where she lives right? Please help me understand the chaos.😢
@@fangirlchen9135 she's alive. In fact, she is the one that swapped the timelines when Cloud blocked Sephiroths sword.
The floor glows when the blood appears. The same glow that happened when she pushed Cloud through her portal and the same glow when she walks out of her portal at the end with the ribbon still in her hair.
She tricked Sephiroth into thinking he killed her. Cloud kept him and Jenova busy while she prayed for Holy in her own timeline. That's why she smiles and he says "I got this" and leays her head down. When she steps out of her portal she says that she "saw what you did back there Cloud, thank you" because he not only broke free of the whispers he also straight up disarmed Sephiroth. Cloud hasn't been able to get close to Sephiroth until now. Sephiroth also remarks to Aerith that he underestimated her.
My theory is she rejoined Cloud in his fight once Holy was activated. Unfortunately, because Cloud and Aerith where inside the whispers when the timelines diverged, the group can't feel Aerith... But red can.
So Zack's in one timeline, Aerith's in another and Cloud is caught in between. Once Sephiroth merges the timelines I expect them to reunite.
For the devs to throw Cissnei at Aerith in Gongaga, then Marlene tell Zack about Aerith's feelings for Cloud, then Zack backs Cloud... Way too much foreshadowing. Plus NPTK refers to their special place" which Aerith makes a HUGE point of in their dream date.
They'll reunite, in the church in part 3.

no. Aerith will not survive or revived, because Producer Yoshinori Kitase confirms Advent Children's events are part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy narrative. Aerith and Zack is already dead in Advent Children.

And honestly imagine you’re in an apocalyptic world where you’re only surviving and you find a friend who you can talk to about fun things like boys and joke around, to her she was like her only real friend apartó from cloud since it’s been pointed out the kids she hang out with when she was a kid weren’t really that nice

I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

That quote always reminded me of Aerith. She was never meant to stay long but she made the most of the time she had with the group and it's a tragedy that fate necessitated she go so soon for a great purpose, but it's impossible to let go.
Aerith has always been that almost otherworldly and ethereal beauty of a character that is bound to tragic fate from the time she was born and despite all the hardships, she manages to go on cheerfully with life.
You find out that despite the worst tragic fate to befall her, she is still happy and wants her friends to go on and not feel guilty about her death, but their hearts still ache for the chance to somehow change what happened and Aerith is the type of soul worth pursuing across worlds and cosmos and time and life and death, just to have some sort of closure or even a chance of bringing her back.
Aerith is worth challenging fate for to the point of jeopardizing everything and as selfish as it is, you want her back!
I’m so confused, the point in the first game was to change fate, and i know Aerith dying is what eventually stops sephiroth originally , but i thought they would find a new way. And what’s happening to cloud, is he going crazy, or is he seeing different timelines at the same time. I haven’t got rebirth yet, but in remake he seemed to be the only one to get glimpses of the original timeline, are they clashing in his mind, so he sees Aerith dead in one and sees her with them in another. Or is he seeing the original Aerith as she is making her presence visible through the lifestream?
Remake is Act 1. Its Sets everything up. The goel never was to change the plot but to keep interest. Ther basicly was no way to make a remake without a Trilogie.

I’m a little confused too, because when he is holding her, it seems his is saying something more. Is it the famed lines “Aerith will no longer talk. Cry, or smile…” lines?? And then it flips to him on the brink of tears, almost like confused or panicked, and Sephiroth saying “your tears are empty…just like you.” (Cold a$$ line btw) it’s like to me two timelines bashing or merging into each other???
I do personally think she is trying to comfort her friends, especially Cloud, to keep him from falling apart or losing it. And I think it is hard for her when he says he will beat Sephiroth, she pauses, knowing he is going to find out the truth soon.

She’s alive… there’s so many clues:
- Sephiroth says new worlds are formed when someone defies destiny
- watch cloud deflect Sephiroth’s sword, he creates a new world/timeline
- Holy wasn’t activated, it’s still white when it falls into the water, meaning Aerith needs to be alive somehow to pray to the planet - I don’t think she can activate Holy from the lifestream, right?
- if cloud has gone crazy he would act as though she is in front of the members and be like “hey guys, why we mourning? She’s alive!” He never talks to Aerith while the others are around. Yes this could be editing out the members POV and giving a red herring. But I don’t know why Barrat would say he trusts him if they can see him talking to himself and thinking Aerith is alive 😅
- Nanaki still senses her presence whilst Cloud can see her visual presence
- Aerith doesn’t get in the tiny bronco, cuz she’s staying at the city of the ancients. So we can assume she’s not a ghost that follows Cloud everywhere

Even after all this time, this still hurts.
Now i wonder why aerith is so concerned about what would be the impact of her death to cloud, first he didn't protect her as his friend, then cloud maybe think his the one who kill aerith too since he think that he is a clone or a puppet of sephiroth, and last zack, since cloud knew what is aerith to zack he is responsible for aerith safety in exchange of what zack do to him.
They should not have censored the part where sephiroth use the masamune to pierce through Aerith

POV of cloud ... he thinks he save her ...or he did but the timeline merging and there is two scene overlaping hard to tell cuz he still has his schizo ...but aerith did die here
That's because he initially saved her. But Aerith undid it hence the glitch. She knew she needs to die to strengthen her grip on the lifestream and stop meteor.
Sephiroth even looks at his sword and chuckles as if to say "well played Aerith" then later tells her he underestimated her.

Cloud might not be going crazy or hallucinating. He KNOWS Aerith is just fine and dandy and she will make her move in good time. But for now, she probably asked him NOT to divulge too much information because for her plan to work they gotta play this like it's still Playstation 1 1997.
I think when she opens her eyes and smiles, that is the Aerith he saved telling him to "Just play along, Okay?" Sucks for the main cast who to their eyes, Aerith definitely died in front of them. But the bonkers multiverse theory is that they are all Aerith, linked by the same soul acting out their lives in alternate realities.

Cloud has been brain washed by sephiroth. Think if aerith is talking to him and given him white materia( black materia). The clue is when cloud see aerith is like see sephiroth jenova brain effect and sephiroth said " however you'll never see the truth with such clouded eyes, after all you just a puppet" . So till end game cloud still dont know a reality aerith is dead.
Speaking of that materia...when activated...its supposed to turn green...it did in the original...it didn't here...does that mean that holy is not active

I think there are two Aeriths here, remember there are two timeline in the game. maybe Aerith 1 is alive and the Aerith 2 is dead. What you think guys?
I think there are actually 3:
1. FF7R (Remake/Rebirth) Aerith: She's the one we've been following in these new games. Cloud managed to save this one, but fate was changed, quite possibly by Sephiroth with Arbiter of Fate Ability.
2. Zack's timeline Aerith (aka. World between Worlds' Aerith o Flower Pin Aerith): This Aerith is comatose/dead in Zack's timeline and ended up in some kind of World between Worlds' Lifestream. She's managed to contact Cloud through dreams or has met him when he's been in or close to the Lifestream.
3. OG Aerith (i.e. 1997's FF7): She died in the original game, and when fate was changed in FF7Rebirth, the dead Aerith everyone saw was this one.
The way I see it, Rebirth Aerith is in some kind of quantum state in which she's both dead and alive at the same time. This one, unlike the OG Aerith who returned to the Planet as soon as she died, has remained as some sort of Force Ghost, because her fate hasn't been 100% determined.
Everyone who isn't Cloud or Sephiroth can't see Rebirth Aerith because they hadn't yet crossed the Walls of Fate when fate had been determined, and thus they only saw the dead (OG) Aerith. On the other hand, Cloud has seen the Rebirth continuity (i.e. he managed to save Aerith), the OG continuity (i.e. Aerith died) and the World between Worlds, which is why some fans think he's going schizo, but the reality is he's looking at several timelines at the same time. Proof of this is that he can see the broken sky from the World between Worlds' in the real world, whereas no one else can (but maybe Force Ghost Aerith).
i think your close however the aerith in the world between worlds at the beginning with marlene and elmyra thats another one if you look at the stamp dog crackers that marlene is eating then when we get to cloud and aeriths date the chips you can buy from the vendor have a diffrent stamp dog on them i think there are multiple aeriths who are working together and cloud is the constant going through thoughs worlds so to speak

There actually more than 2 timelines. There were like 4 or 5 different versions of Stamp if you watch closely.

This was when I learned I could hate a video game character. And I mean, *hate*, with the fury of 1,000 suns. I was like, they better let me kill Sephiroth at least a dozen times.
I never had the chance to play the og FF7. But I knew what happened just from seeing it on G4 back in the day. playing through these new games it was still sooo difficult to not get attached to her even though I knew what was coming.
Can't wait to see what new form the Buster sword takes on with Part 3.
Cos at the end of Part 2 we see Cloud adding the black materia onto the Buster sword.

When Red XIII was sitting with tifa while she cried and Aerith touched Red and he gasped lightly saying her name I cried more I do kinda wish they would have shown cloud putting Aerith in the water but that one little bit of hope I really thought Aerith was saved by cloud and seeing cloud sword in the air like he was fighting, it said they were going to show cloud killing her I’m crying now at 6am

Huh? That's cracked. Maybe, but Aerith isnt implanted with Jenova cells. There's no reason for that to happen, and furthermore, how is it that Sephiroth has a sword? If its the black robed clones, they don't have swords on them.

something i noticed is that weird rainbow effect when its in the background aerith is alive when its not shes dead also cloud is giving that speech and that rainbow effect isnt there in the cuts also we dont actually hear it

i think she will come back somehow and i think it will involve her waking up in another timeline as the aerith and cloud at the start of the zack timeline at the beginning of the game i think are still asleep if you look at the diffrent stamp dogs in each scene that seems to point to that direction

Why is Cloud so calm at the end? He was crying when he saw Aerith dying. He knows something we don’t I’m sure.
I think the twist worked very well. Aerith’s death is something that everyone knows. Like Vader telling Luke he’s his father, Aerith’s death was a huge shocking twist when it came out but it’s so iconic that everyone knows now. So by making it look like we actually saved her only to reveal Sephiroth still killed her… for me it kept the shock and twisted the knife even further. I cried so hard

Yeah from my observation she's not dead in Zack's timeline. Or more accurately in the one he ends up in. I was a little confused about the last scene with Zack. Because we see him fall into the light/ presumably the lifestream. And then he wakes up at Aerith's church. So did Zack jump from one timeline to another? Cause thats what it seems like.
Like I know he was with Cloud for a sec. But then he ends up back in the timeline that was seemingly doomed. So did he end up waking up in a new timeline? So confuzzled lol

everything is so confusing. I don't want aerith to die, but the way I see it, along with Tifa and everyone else reaction afterwards, I think Aerith is dead. at least in this reality since cloud (and red) can see her. either that, or cloud is so broken mentally he's talking to a ghost or her spirit in the lifestream.

Also after playing Rebirth, I just realized what was actually going on in this sequence as well just as Sephiorth-sama is from the future of course and why at that one time he seemed to convey some emotion which connects to First SOLDIER! Very moving and interesting! I was shocked when I finally understood why the heck, he was being so chummy and slightly intimate with Cloud in Remake.
Aerith is already dead and pretty much it was the tides of time in a warfare, the whispers I believe were deciding if Aerth's death was going to remain or was going to be changed by Cloud's interference-which of course, in the original never happened period. Very interesting.
I was still slumped over on how they didn't show it Ugh..>< The ultimate dramatic scene ruined! Well Sephiroth certainly seemed to get the job done but I cannot wait to see if the story ends in a twist of fortunate for all the characters esp Cloud and Sephiroth. I certainly know us adult fans of 1997 are dying to know how Tetsuya Nomura will impress us over his original story!

I dont think we are dealing with timeline aerith. Just cloud being unable to deal with her lose. Hence two scenes with alive and dead aerith. In one frame she is present and in another she is gone. Its frame from clod and frame from ither point of view. She is dead, party is in extreme pain and in all that they are dealing with cloud mental breakdown where he is halucinating,hearthless and cold at the same time. Tifa is so scared of him. Even barret doubt her decision and look at her with "you really trust this guy? Thats your friend? You sure?" And she looks at barret with "yeah... i... he... ... he ... i...s " 15:03

Sephiroth did say Cloud has 7 seconds when he had that vision of Meteor falling with everyone seemingly dead on the ground. What if, in those 7 seconds, it is up to Cloud which timeline becomes real? Sephiroth said Aerith's death is where "it" begins, the confluence of worlds. He is counting on the timeline wherein he wins in one of those worlds. Cloud is piercing through the veil by being able to see the version of Aerith whom survived, and this Aerith seems to be able to exist in multiple timelines all happening at the same time with different results. Part 1 is Remake, because we are making differences in the timeline just as Aerith is implying that we can change it for the better. Part 2 is Rebirth, which likely signifies Aerith's death and being reborn anew as the catalyst for this change. Part 3 is what I predict to be Reunion, wherein Zack and Aerith will likely be present in the final confrontation against Sephiroth.

Like I have a solid feeling of how the next game will conclude, but all this timelines crap, dead or not dead Aerith, Cloud acting delusional despite being somewhat possessed by Sephiroth, like does he legit think she is still alive and she’s not or is he really talking to another version or her who’s now in a separate times, and all this whisperes and Sephiroth knowledge of what they know or not know is really confusing!!!

When developers think they are smart, and want to complicate things for no reason just to be confused with smart writing. “Look we subverted expectations with some kind of Kingdom hearts nonsense”. Original story was simpler, effective and better. There’s things that shouldn’t be changed.

cloud is no have feeling and heart he can't feel sadness and emotion , he loss her mother but he not feel and think if you have power and strong feel to save people and defend your family , friends , and valuable person for him , he most more effort to solve problem and stop sepiroth as soon as possible before more victim happen , but flashback in midgard , cloud lose and can't stop sepiroth , why he not train to be stronger to stop sepiroth , he loss her mother he should get motivation to stop her senior and her idol to kill everyone and save the world , but cloud only empty vessel , he lost her feeling and humanity , and lose again valuable person for him , aerith sacrifice is wrong , for someone is know how precious person for him he not want lose it everything what happen , if you know kratos in god of war 3 , he full angry and madness , but he know pandora not guilty in the case , and kratos not want pandora sacrifice him self for kratos vengence , man with full angry and madness can understand how person not innocent , and valuable for him because he look like her daughter , and in god of war 4,5, dlc valhala , we know what reason kratos what do , he admit his guilt , but for her family and someone valuable person for him , he do it anything to save and protect valuable person for him ,
