If square Enix had a brain between any of them, they would of just took final fantasy 7 remake, and rebirth, turning them into one game. The first disc of the original was around 20 to 25hrs, and could easily turn that into a 80+hr game instead of turning a 7 hr opening section into a 35hr game and a 15hr open world section into a 80+ hr game.

no ones talking about how Tifa fell into the lifestream! they didnt just do that for a scene. that has to connect her to all the otherworldly things now, right?
It’s not a multiverse. That’s what people with braindead reading comprehension have been interpreting the ending in Rebirth as. It’s simply the livestream from og FFVII. When Aerith, Zack etc die, they appear in the “other realm” which is just the lifestream where everyone goes to after they die anyway - except here in the remake they actually show it.
The problem is while it might be a split timeline, or likely they are already Dead it's still dumb and lazy and feels like the most basic emotional tugging and oversaturation of actually feeling for the story and characters we loved
DISCOVERY ALERT!!! Watching this video just occurred to me that the last scene of the original game is a replay of Aerith looking to that green lifestream in midgar. THAT MEANS THE ENTIRE STORY YOU PLAY AFTER THAT WAS BEING TOLD IN HER MIND AT THAT MOMENT. Aerith from the original game ALREADY HAD SEEN THE FUTURE!!! That Aerith at the end of the game IS THE AERITH FROM REMAKE!
Even if it wasn't intended, but instead just a reused shot from the start for cheaper development, to represent her watching from/to the Lifestream - this concept is still what they're going with now, yes.
Doubt im the only one thinking this but the final game will probably be called FF7 Reunion. Fits the whole RE theme they were going for. Remake, Remission, Rebirth, Reunion.

In my opinion, that Aerith that Cloud sees at the end of the game by the Bronco is not a spiritual Aerith. That is the Aerith he saved in the forgotten capital. Cloud does save Aerith in one world and she dies in another. Cloud is seeing two different timelines or worlds at once. More evidence for is is when cloud says "don''t look up" to the party in the last cutscene. Only Cloud can see the tear in the sky, the rest of the party can't because they never entered the temporal threshold at the forgotten capital, only Cloud did.

They are too different from one another both in terms of story and in gameplay. If your prefer more "anime" like characters and plot FF7 is definitely more your style. If you prefer the more western type fantasy games with grand boss-fights, then ff16 is a better choice. If the main factor for you is gameplay, then ff7 is just straight up better in side activities, RPG elements like itemization and character leveling, and combat has a far more impact with its tactical layer to it then 16s DMC-like hack and slash, that only gets impactful enough at the later half of the game.
so much to do in ff7 rebirth. ff16 for me is somewhat linear, and the quests are not interesting and repetitive. the crafting system alone in ff7 blew away ff16.

Red losing his memories have nothing to do with his visit to Cosmo Canyon.. you're blending two elements that are like 70 hours apart in game time. Also, no one understands what is happening with Aerith in the ending. It is purposely ambiguous to keep us talking.
Why does everyone not understand that Aerith is dead. She is not communicating with him still, he is just hallucinating because his mako poisoned brain is blocking out the memories of her death the same as with Zack.
They show up when meteor is summoned, as the planet is in danger. They will be in the third game.....look closely at the posters in Tifa's room, they're literally foreshadowing them
Poor Sephiroth, to conquer all universes, he had to do the same thing and say the same sentences over and over and over again like a million times? Must be super boring and go insane (oh he already is).

While in his hometown he was able to reveal his normal self and was more comfortable with speaking in his regular voice with others now that the truth of his age was revealed.
In addition to what mx10589 is saying, some of the changes may have been to accommodate for Cait Sith. Unlike the original, Rebirth Cait Sith is more than just (unnecessary) comic relief, providing wise insights, progressing the narrative, and being key to situational events. But to keep some differention in the party and character roles, they may have opted to remove the wise guide role from Red XIII, and give it to Cait, while using 'child Nanaki' and exploring his character growth in that lane. Maybe in game 3, the role may shift again, to someone like Vincent/Cid. Characters tend to flip their roles in long narratives like this one, albiet temporarily.
In the OG japanese for ps1, red xiii's dialect and mannerisms change after cosmo canyon. In the US release it's not as obvious, and so in the remake they kept it more true to that

They really shipped Clerith in this game 😅.
Plus, I’m not sure Cloud knows Aerith is dead. His mind is a little…messed up, and he doesn’t deal with death well 😅
@@Khjaden97 True. If we look at it from Tifa's perspective, Cloud _really_ has gone mentally ill in the end of the game
why is everyone here so negative?😅 same happened with people constantly complaining Dragonball Super and now everyone is sad about Toriyama. Be glad that the original staff is still willing to put out this banger of a game for us. If Remake and Rebirth were bad, I'd understand this anger, but the games are genuiely great. You really expected a 1:1 remake? No way a creative person is going to do a 1:1 remake of a product they'd worked of for 2 yrs some 25yrs ago. Let's be real.
@@unownbob123 no, they did well the way they did. you don't know how to design stories well, while Kitase, Nojima etc do. They know their craft better than you.

Wouldnt be surprised if zack becomes the leader after cloud loses his mind from lifestream poisoning.... If he still even loses it.
This explains something very important that no other videos I've watched so far mentions... how Aerith can no longer see the future like before due to the white Materia being empty.
People need to stop looking at this like it's not about to be a full on sequel
Maybe they shouldn't have called it a Remake then
@@dragonwarriorz1maybe you should just get over it and enjoy two excellent games for what they are. Remakes in film and video game world are rarely 1 for 1 copies, and the "Remake" title was clearly meant as a play on words, seeing as the games are still mostly faithful to the original.
@@kk_33 No
@@dragonwarriorz1 the title Remake is appropriate because it is a title. Literally our characters were remaking the story.

Some things make sense while others don’t (on the surface anyhow). Seph could just wipe out Shinra (or at the very least Rufus / those in power). What is the point of racing with them for the promised land? None of these figures are any level of threat to Seph or his goals.
Sephiroth can’t directly attack in the physical world, he can only operate through the black cape guys.
He wants Shinra away so they can’t use the cannon against his barrier on the northern crater.
Exactly. Sephiroth isn't fully "alive" following him being thrown into the livestream.
5:00 that isn't Cloud, that is Sephiroth controlling Cloud, after it happens, Cloud is confused and is given a flash with the memory of what just happened, screaming "Tifa!"
Everyone leaves out what they did with poor Biggs. Otherwise this was a great summary and cleared up some of my confusion about the alternate realities.
Because no one ever cared about Biggs, wedge and jessue
Honestly the Biggs reveal was the biggest disappointment of the story for me!
So sad he lived only to die in a flashback!
@@josephosullivan9891He lived to die in an alternate timeline, not a flashback. But, yes, still sad. As if it was inevitable.

@@SolomonRasputin damn I'm dumb
Ngl this is a great video and put plot points in an easy to understand way
Wait they actually made FF7 into a multiverse? lmao not sure how to feel about that. Almost wish they just remade the og game at this point.
@@SoulsLordsthat doesn't make any damn sense
@@SoulsLordsSure as hell sounds like a multiverse.
So basically yes but also no
DISCOVERY ALERT!!! That Aerith at the end of the game IS THE AERITH FROM REMAKE!
ah nice recall. yeah indeed this could be it.
Crisis core was reunion
@@bign8te oh damn, nvm lol

This storyline.....makes absolutely no sense. Final Fantasy had some complex themes (advent children) before they threw in a multiverse for no reason. What a nightmare.
Literally always been like that. The lifestream is a cycle, not a straight line
so square is essentially giving FF7 the Disney treatment
They make a lot of games for Disney and FF7 characters fought against Goofy and Donald in KH so how is this a surprise?

CT was also the 1st to have synergy attacks
My conclusion: It will lead the story line to Advent Children. as the OG Cloud can see The Aerith and Zack from Rebirth. we Jus Play all the Cloud with OG's and Rebirth Consciousness to have a chance to save Aerith in Rebirth.
Maybe in Advent Children He still possesses both White and Black Materia. he became the keeper. that's why he always stays away from everyone.

Final Fantasy XVI or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? Which one is better?
16 obviously
Rebirth
In terms of narrative, FF16. In terms of gameplay, FF7 Rebirth.
Oh no...this is Kingdom Hearts all over again...
It's simple really. Original FF7 is a premonition that is destined to take place, where the remake is that very vision occuring in that present reality of the remake.
What did you expect? Nomura himself is the creative director.
Basically Aerith and Zack are force ghosts. And we are seeing them interact in such a way. They are still in the lifestream. Still dead.
The developers have stated that Advent Children is still canon.
Don't really care what they are as long as they are party members in part 3. They can be force ghosts, people from a different timeline, or whatever.
In main timeline, yes. In alternate timeline, Zack and Aerith are still alive.
The Star Wars influence is strong with this one

If you know then the voice the guy who voices vincent is jotaro from Jo jo
What were they smoking when they wrote the new stuff
Why does everyone not understand that Aerith is dead. She is not communicating with him still, he is just hallucinating because his mako poisoned brain is blocking out the memories of her death the same as with Zack.

Rick and Morty make this concept work, maybe Final Fantasy can too
Why did they make Red XIII sound like a child??
Red is a teenager and was faking his deep voice.
It was explained that he’s about 75 years old but compared to the full lifespan of his species that would only put him at around age 16/17 relative to a human lifespan. He deliberately put on an older voice to not be looked down on as a “pet” according to himself when going back to his hometown in cosmo canyon.
In the US release it's not as obvious, and so in the remake they kept it more true to that
@@fosterkmasI would argue OG Cait Sith was also more than unnecessary comic relief too. He has some pretty pointed back-and-forth with Barret about Avalanche's disregard for collateral damage and "ends justify the means" attitude, and helps to humanize a lot of Midgar.
