Thanks, Brandon! This was probably my favorite show to play! I have a few more from my Minneapolis days that I want to upload here...

That’s great - I’ve never been to Munich. I would love to visit Germany someday. By the way, yes I do teach a few people online using “Zoom.” It works pretty well, so long as the Internet connection is good on both ends! Happy to chat with you about it sometime, if you are ever interested 😊👍

Had the most fun of my life playing lead in Gypsy, Dolly, JC Superstar - good pit bands in local Cleveland theater groups circa mid 1970s. This recording brings it all back. You obviously have the juice to play with the very best Broadway groups. I dig that this recording centers on the lead part. Sounds like you're the only trumpet? I mostly hear drums and one bone aside from that bulls-eye accurate trumpet.

Hey, Peter! That is so cool you played in those shows. Really great trumpet parts in those! I got to know one local Cleveland trumpeter many years ago when I came through with Ragtime in 2000. He was super cool.
Yes, you mostly hear the lead trumpet part because I had the little Sony Walkman cassette recording unit on the floor, near my left foot! I was the only trumpet - the trombone player was to my left, and the drums to his left. We also had one tenor sax, reed doubler to my right. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment!
I imagine you’re still living in Cleveland?

@@jeremymilos Been in the Pittsburgh area since '76. My eventual career was in radio. Retired now. My teacher back in Cleveland was much like yourself, great all-around player but especially lead. He was the union contractor on most of the big local shows. I envy your career! But I had a tiny taste of it that I'll never forget. The lights, the excitement - the girls!!! (just happy to watch 'em dancing and acting from the pit). I still blow some for fun - and annoyance of my family - nothing REMOTELY close to your skills. Here's a taste if interested - just a bit at the open middle and end. ua-cam.com/video/5r4LIGK7iD0/v-deo.html

@@petermorley3910 Hey Peter! Wow, great job on that cover. Your voice is fantastic. What microphone are you using there? Sounds really deep and rich. Also, great job on the trumpet. That middle section has a Miles Davis “Woody ‘n’ You” vibe. Well done!

@@jeremymilos Thanks for having a look at the video Jeremy and the good words!!! The mic was an Audio Technica AT 4033. I had the luxury of multiple takes for the trumpet parts - and needed 'em! It requires an expert with endurance to do what you do - deliver on the spot. Bang! I'd be cooked after a couple sloppy measures under that kind of pressure. When I was 20 I could cut it pretty fair though. What I am an expert at is Pro Tools, having used it daily in radio production for the past 25 years - easy to de-clam. Also thanks for your videos aimed at helping us and giving us a sense of what it takes at the top!

@@petermorley3910 I thought it looked like an Audio Technica! I use the AT 2035 for all of my spoken commentary on my videos. Your 4033 is better, but my 2035 does a good job for speaking!
That’s great that you’ve mastered ProTools. Sounds like it! Nothing wrong with de-clamming anything!
In any case, if you’re curious to hear a longer version of the show I recorded in this video, there’s a link in the description that will give you all the best parts of act one, and it’s about 23 minutes long. It’s at shows.jeremymilos.com

Hi. Listening to you sends my ears on the way to Cat Anderson... His way of starting notes sound like yours... More the opposite way I would guess.
