yes its great hes providing for his family, but his kids don't even see him as family. there is no excuse to be disconnected from you kids. there are single parents out there who work night and day shifts yet still find time to drop off/pick kids up from school, say i love you, give hugs and have conversation with their kids. and even if its once in a blue moon, do something with them.

He couldn’t show her no respect because he wasn’t present in her life. Adding value to a household doesn’t mean you are adding value to an individual. The circumstances of him working his butt off doesn’t mean reality just completely disappears. He added no value to her life, she is 100% right about that. That is why she doesn’t know what respect is. If he was there to teach her that instead of working all day and night she would have a different outlook on it. @@officiallytrustissues5411 exactly people are conflating the two. Just because you had value to a household doesn’t mean you add value to that individual. In order for you to add value to an individual you have to motivate, guide, maybe give them an understanding, teach, etc. he did none of that. All he did was pay bills and sleep. That adds no value to anyone. The problem with people is that they think paying bills teaches a person about morals, life, and respect and right or wrong. It doesn’t. When you add value to a persons life, your presence, your teachings etc will guide them to making better decisions, using your teaching to understanding how to deal with people, understand daily concepts etc. he did non of that

She assumes he's lazy and can get money so easily. She probably never even bothered to talk to him if she is like this. She could've told her dad when he got home. Like Pegasus said, the fathers try to keep the problems to themselves, and try to shield you. The dad MOST LIKELY never thought there was a problem because she never said anything.

@lilaross-cz8zr if you're going to take it to this level, we're both in the wrong bc neither of us know what it was really like in their house growing up. Unfortunately, there are far too many dad's like you described or just completely nonexistent but there are also plenty of dad's who have been badmouthed by the mother so much that the kids won't even give him a chance to be a good father. We don't really know for sure and it's near impossible to know. I stand by my comment bc the OP is showing appreciation for her dad who was there for her but had to sacrifice a lot of time to give them the life they had while being the best dad he could in his time off. Some kids never show appreciation for the sacrifices their parents make and fathers seem to get the worst of it since, typically, men don't get as much time to spend with their kids as mothers do. IOW, there are bad mother, fathers, and children and we don't know definitively which one(s) are in the wrong in this case.

My Dad was employed in a random type of shift work in a governmental civil defence capacity as an industrial electrician. Occasionally my Dad would be away for days or a week or more at a time during emergencies. He also usually worked like 8 to 12 hours a day. When he was home he did sleep a lot, but that's because his job was physically draining. He's now retired and wasn't/Isn't useless for working long grueling hours (even when ill) to provide for his family. I never thought bad of my dad for working so much, I knew he did so for us and the time we did share as a family was special. This woman is just a coddled, entitled, narcissistic brat who wouldn't survive a day on her own in the "Real World"

    • @bradblumhof6917
      @bradblumhof6917 4 місяці тому +6

You'd be surprised at how common this lack of appreciation and entitlement is these days. My niece, who just turned 18, was raised by my parents since her mom decided drugs and alcohol were more important. They are retired and financially comfortable so they literally gave her everything she ever wanted and were there for her in every possible way, even at the expense of all their other grandkids. Unfortunately, she doesn't appreciate anything they did/do for her and is the most entitled brat I've ever had the misfortune to know. She almost seems to revel in how much she has helped to deteriorate my parents' relationships with their other kids and grandkids and literally thinks she can do no wrong (not exaggerating...she seriously said something to that affect 2 days ago). Now that my dad has some medical problems, can't walk, and needs a lot of assistance, she absolutely refuses to help him in any way whatsoever, regularly makes derogatory comments about his conditions and how worthless he is, physically and emotionally abuses him, and I'd actively trying to get my mom to leave him since he's now such a "burden" and can't do anything for her. This sounds like a badly written movie villain but, I assure you, it's real and I have to deal with it regularly since I do everything I can to help my mom take care of him as I'm the only family left nearby. While she's an extreme example, she's not the only one I personally know through friends going through similar circumstances.

Some fathers are unapproachable though. For context, I was born with a developmental disability and still deal with the challenges. Writing is one of them, even though I can spell. But the time I am done with this paragraph, ( the cat doesn't help) a good half hour, at the least would be gone. It's because I want every sentence to come out right. Some fathers do not know there is such thing as disability rights, nor does some like to get help for their children's disability. I've tried and tried and tried to ask for help, I got made fun of instead, and never got the help needed in school. Some come home and drink all day and come home and pass out from drinking. Slam cabinets, and cuss the whole family out. As much as an AH mine can be, I still love him and want him to get better and improve his life. He doesn't even like to spend time with the family and grandkids, anyone. Except our mom.
Then you have THIS lady on tik tok. If her dad was like mine, I don't think she would know what tik tok was, because if social networking was a thing, back in my time, we would not be allowed to use it AT ALL! I would be less internally angry as a child if he was actually there and listened to any warning signs of behavioral changes. He never thought to help my mom get me set up for school accommodations when I was younger. And autism in girls was basically unheard of, but was later diagnosed a couple of years ago. when I was younger, would draw out my problems because I couldn't explain them in words, and was made fun of for it. so I stopped altogether. Of course this is my point of view, which may or may not be correct .My dad did work and made a decent amount of money. He's a marine which may explain a lot of his behavior. But at the end of the day, I do not want anything happen to our dad. The door is always open of he decides to improve his life. But that's what alcohol does. Despite how I was treated, I would never want any more harm bestowed upon my dad. I actually want to see him happy.

My mom had a down right horrible scum of the earth kind of father- the things he did to his daughters let alone his own wife were despicable.
My dad however is absolutely a gem, and my mom will always tell me how he was nervous about becoming a father- but then the second I was born I became his best friend. Even now I notice how much he cares about me- and I love him so much. Even if I'm worried about telling him about my relationship with my partner, I can only hope things will work out in the end and that he'll still love me the way he always has. ❤

I have absolutely no sympathy for her. The sheer hypocrisy of her complaining that her father is apparently not there for her but at the same time not showing any affection of her own as well as literally saying he should just go to work and send her money is unbearably untolerable in my opinion. Another thing i have absolutely no respect for is posting this mental form of explosive diarrhea on Tik Tok for the whole world to see, just because she's mad about something she has, given the context in which she posted it, no right to be mad about or complain about because at the end of the day, the only thing she said he does is fulfill one side of the paradox request that she put him up to. So with that being said, i still have to say that everything could change if there were to be any information she forgot giving, which would also be incredibly reckless of her. Nevertheless, i think it's safe to say that the form in which she posted what she did is unacceptable either way. No respect at all for this action.

What's there to gain in any of it that? I don't see anything good out from it.
People don't realize it's not just them. If people can use imagery of one person to find where everyone else live, then now it gets everyone in the family involved. All over one person getting viral in platforms like tiktok. It happened with that one girl who was being an ass to the piano/keyboard playing guy. Like there was no need to get parents risked in danger just cause of the one person being a rude ass outside of the parent's knowledge.

23 years ago, my father broke his leg In a very stormy parachuting training exercise right before going to Afghanistan for war (this happened around 5 years before my birth). Since then, he decided to drop out of the military (also due to the permanent damage to his leg), and started working at normal jobs. Since then, we have had more time to talk and play with him, but he still gets up at 2-6am, gets home at 5-10pm, and even then he just eats and goes to bed. Sometimes he has a day or two off of work a week but even then, I cant play with him because he spends more time with my mom (they married). Though I dislike how he treats me sometimes, I cant help but respect everything he has ever done for us. About a year ago me and him went to some local Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament things and had some fun, though we quit because it kept getting increasingly more and more unfair, needing us to spend way too much money just to continue going, now I'm just glad mom and dad get to spend more time together.
Anyways, moral of this story, don't take your time with your family for granted, and respect them, cherish every moment.

She might have hyperbolised her situtation and came off a tad bit disrespectful but I do understand her situation as I am in the same one. My father never really came home. He never "worked his ass off" having two jobs or taking extra hours to raise us. He always worked management standard 8h jobs. Sure in time his salary got bigger but it was always the same 8h job. When I was little he never came home straight from work. He was going drinking with friends leaving me and my sister with our mom. The only thing what he always gave us was his paycheck and not even all of it. He just gave a portion that should be enough to keep the home running. Now I'm not saying that he should give all of his money. He should keep some of it to have for like outings and stuff but he always gave us just enough to get by, not even half of what he earned. The rest of it he kept for his 'Outings" with his friends after work.
He never went to our school performances or receive a prize for our good grades. It was always my mom that did it. Sure my mom had more time because she didnt work, but it never was like she didnt want to. My dad never let her. He was an abusive fuck towards her and controlled her every life decision. My dad never tried to build a relationship with us except for occasional taking me to play football or ride a bike. But mind it it was no more often than once a month. He never knew what our birthday gifts were until the moment we unpacked them. He just gave money and its still this way after my mom divorced him. She stopped buying his gifts for us so he just comes up to us and tell us that hes going to give us a certain amount and we buy ourselves a gift. Sometimes he doesnt even ask what we bought.
You get the gist. He just gives money. Now you can tell me "You should have tried to build a relationship with him!" "You should be grateful you have a roof over your head" I tried, and I am grateful that I was well fed I have a new phone and that he gave me enough money for Christmas that I was able to buy 2 new monitors for my PC setup. Its just that the responsibility of building a relationship with a child is on the parents side and the parent should take these few first steps. I tried to build a relationship with him when I was a teenager but he was just not interested. His friends were more entertaining than his own daughters. Now that I'm in my twenties I'm just not interested anymore. I'm tired of being the first one to reach out and frankly when he texts me its just annoying. He has the same status as my job. I just want money, because that's all he can give me and I learned it over and over again when I was dissapointed when I wanted to spend some time with him but he just didnt come back from work on time. You can't just make a child skip first 20 years of their lives and then suddenly want a relationship because you realise that your friend are dying due to the alcoholism, youre getting old and your child can hold a decent converstion. I want to have a good relationship with my dad I do regret how it looks like and its not like I want to feel annoyed when he tries to talk to me, but its sth that was built up over years. He reaps what he sows. It's probably very similar for this girl, she might have come across very ungrateful and aggresive but you cant just fit all these 20 years of plain emotional neglect into a 3min tiktok so that every viewer would have a backstory to why you feel spiteful and why you do not care your father is sick. I also do not care if my father has a cold. Its really fucking sad and I know that but I cant change that I dont care about our relationship anymore.

Same with me, although on top of it, my dad disciplined me the first 7 years of my life, so I grew up being afraid of him until I was about 16. I give him credit now for being more relaxed than he was when I was younger, but that was after my mom spent literal years telling him to get therapy and start working on his issues. I can’t lie, it’s thanks to his job and all the work that he put into the company he worked for that I was able to get such a high-grade education, and that I live in a very well-off country in a time where almost everywhere else is an uncertain hellhole, but his emotional distance when I was growing up, coupled with his emotional abuse, makes me very uninterested in actively building a relationship with him. Especially since I live in a welfare state and get insanely good financial support from the government, so I don’t really need him for financial stuff anymore.

My dad left my mom and I when I was 3, because he didn't think he was responsible for taking care of me. I hate him for it, but that doesn't mean I hate *_all fathers_* in the world. I know there are dads out there in the world who will actually _be_ there for their children, and I think Little Miss Miss here needs to realize how lucky she is to *_have_* a father.

As someone who had a dad who used money as a placeholder for love i get it. However, a conversation after he heard me crying through the walls was legit all that was needed for him to change his behavior. I’m glad I got to have that talk because we were REALLY close up until his death 5 years later.

  • @neonstix1035

Honestly both sides need to fix something. The girl has to learn what her dad does to provide for her. She’s prioritizing getting the money but not prioritizing spending time or helping her dad. Though, if the dad is not there at all, the dad should try to use breaks or off days to spend time with her.
