    You need the oil temp to be 175 degrees, not the coolant.

      You are correct, I pinned your comment in hopes other people will see it as well. Unfortunately I can’t edit it to say oil temp instead of coolant temp without deleting it from UA-cam.

    I just changed the oil on my 2011 Corvette grand sport, used the exact same oil, but used a K&N oil filter that was made in the USA. Thanks for making this video! W/o you I wasn't sure which drain plug to remove first!

    You can cycle through the options on the dash and see the digital engine temp

      Yes Fred, 2 drain plugs. Remove the front one first, then the side as this fellow did.

    No offense, but shouldnt you have the car level, or even at a slight rake with the back higher so ALL the oil drains out? Also, just wanted to say THANK YOU for showing which oil drain plug to remove first! I thought common sense would dictate the higher upper plug FIRST (as you do) and the lower one second. But another fellow on youtube with a velocity yellow grand sport like mine, did it the reverse.

    No need to jack up the rear end of the vehicle to get all the oil out?

    Do you need to reset the oil life remaining reminder?

  • @sbinnala

    You can also disconnect the two oil lines and another 1.5 qts will come out. You'll end up needing nearly 12 quarts. I did this on my ZR1. It took just under 12 quarts to go right below the top line on the dipstick.

    • @jasonmacneil2256
      @jasonmacneil2256 6 місяців тому

      Was the stuff in the lines dirty enough to warrant doing that?

      @@sbinnala Three questions: 1. Doesn't the oil in these lines drain into pan? 2. Does anyone know the part no. of the seals or o-rings that might need replacing when you break those lines loose? 3. Are these the supply lines from reservoir or cooling lines? Thanks!

    • @sbinnala
      @sbinnala Місяць тому

      @@michaelsmaldone645715217990 is the part number. You need 2 of them. No idea why oil remains in the lines when it should go into the sump.

    great video, thanks....i think the temp you should be targeting to measure the oil at the dipstick is the oil temp, not the water temp though.
