I like having an interior even on UCS sets. Ever since the UCS AT-TE did it so well, it a fantastic option to be able to display with the panels on or off
Great in-depth review, man. As for the interiors, my opinion is it isn’t necessary, more of a nice touch for we few “completionists”. Kinda gives it more character, plus if you’ve got the energy and time, you can show it off to other people who are interested.
Great review. Only thing I'd put to you is...do you not like pushing the bricks together properly? I've noticed in most of your vids bricks not being connected correctly. Not a complaint as such but it just grinds on me while watching lol.
Looking at the super-laser structure, and really the whole bow in general, how do you fix the yawning at the tips of the plates? Would it be possible to jerry-rig some connectors to fit *inside* the super-laser block and pull the plates into a more narrow point? Apologies since I’m not too familiar with Mould King.
My only concern is that it looks like some of the tiles on the interior do not look flush with one another. Is that mouldkings fault or did you not apply enough pressure on them to make the floors seamless?
It's not mould Kings fault. You just need to take your time to put all of the pieces 100% together. The quality of the stones is so good that once you have the pieces together it becomes really difficult to put them apart again (you even get a hammer delivered with you in order to clap the pieces together) That being said you must take your time and use that hammer everywhere it's possible or you will make your fingers hurt a lot if you want to do it bare handed. I have finished the same set and can hereby vouch for the quality of Mold king's stones. They are stronger than lego bricks and it's definitely not their fault
Just assembled the mould king upsilon shuttle, the toughness of the plates can also be a downside if everything is slightly misaligned it’s much harder to push them down. However if you’re more patient than me you can get them all flush

Thank god you finally reviewed this. There are literally no quality reviews on UA-cam for this one and I’ve been interested in the impressions on it since it’s such a unique build. Edit: you make a good point about the interiors. While that bridge looks sick (and could easily be improved in the MK version by replacing all those printed pieces with lego) most of us never see it. Might cost less to just have an entirely technic skeleton and the same exterior. My UCS Mos Eisley for example if full of mini figs and references, but I never actually see it because it’s closed up

Hmm I have begun warming up to non-lego however I am noticing quite an oddity looking at this model. All of the tiled off areas look like they don't fit together at all, and whenever you zoon in there are tons of gaps between individual pieces - it does not seem that they fit together as well as real lego. Can you confirm that this is not the case, and if so, why do the tiles look so crooked and why do the pieces seem to be slightly split apart? Thank you!
Even if this was real lego, I think the same issues would still exist. Personally, I don't notice any big gaps outside the one I talked about. But the problem with tiles would be the same with real lego. The bigger tiles just suck to get pressed down completely, and the inner smaller tiles are generally fine. The only reason Amy are off is because the bottom panels did fall, but going through the video again, they're fine. They might have a 0.002mm difference and that might bug some people.

I just finished building mine a couple days ago. 10:00 this set having an interior was literally the number one reason i bought and built it. Also the second floor down below. Obviously i will never play with it BUT i love to see a working interior with the set so that when i get visitors tor example i can show them through the inside, and not just go "sorry this is only for display it doesn't have interior" etc. I absolutely love that it does have that. The only thing I don't really like is that there is no physical way to access the throne room😅 However as i am progressing through your review: i notice some of the big sections do not seem to sit right where they are supposed to be. The upper section below the head should be way more flat at the end and resting on top of the upper two wings without any gaps. Also at the very front the one i have didn't have that much of a gap there. I believe that is because you didn't assembly the two bottom halves together 100% correctly and because of that now everything looks a bit gapped and kinda not 100% in place. (I also assembled them alone (i put the front section of the stand on a chair, then had the body resting on the table while i was also laying the body side of one of the halves on the table and by doing that i managed to assemble it (took me about 45 minutes doing it alone) however one of the black moving bricks which you have to stick together didn't manage to hold it's weight and it broke apart. Fideling this part out of the now put together bottom halves was a hassle, but then making this piece fit on it's original place... I used one finger which i could fit underneath between the gaps by like already scratching skin off, and in the other hand a pincette to make it go on again... And somehow i managed to accomplish that in just another 40 minutes. Could have taken much much longer for that 😆 Regarding the price: i got mine delivered from Alibaba for about 180€ + 60€ for shipping fee. Thats around 275$ if i guessed it somewhat correctly. So it can be even cheaper than 400$ The only thing i had to change was the section where you put in it's head into the body. It does fit but for me it was too tight and always getting lose. So i moved it up one stud from with the spare pieces i had left over. To make that whole thing easier.

Mould King is the best. I think interior is necessary but doesnt make or break it. Like u said 99 percent of the time it will be on display and for the few minutes u show someone they arenent gonna notice tiny little stuff. Of course id prefer but like i said the structure, quality of bricks, and complete look is more important.
At 10:21 why on earth or there so many pieces not pressed down properly? Do they come off, is the quality that bad? Also the grey flat tiles look horrible compared to the Lego model
12:20 The Eclipse is 17.5km long The Star destroyer is 1.6km long The eclipse should only be ~10X longer then a star destroyer so that is not even close to scale

you talk about the original lego one multiple times in this video but i have looked extensively and cannot find anything about lego itself ever making this. it has all been fan stuff or knockoffs

Exactly. I think they can add to a set, but realistically, they're not seen most of the time.

It's not mould Kings fault. You just need to take your time to put all of the pieces 100% together. The quality of the stones is so good that once you have the pieces together it becomes really difficult to put them apart again (you even get a hammer delivered with you in order to clap the pieces together)

So i have this exact same set from Mold King and i can confim you that i have not a single Problem with these tiles. They fitt perfectly fine.

It looks great! For the bottom panels, there wasn't a way to turn it over and let gravity help keep it in place while you made the connections?
A lot of connections need to be done from the top unfortunately
