King Jae I really learned alot from these episodes I hope you make more videos like this and help alot of people with it. There are things u show in these videos i already knew but most of the things u show i didnt know yet. Thank you for helping me.
I've heard that certain characters have "Unique Parries" that can't be chickened. Do you know which characters have these moves or maybe a list of them online? That would be really helpful! Thanks for your time.
LOVE your T7 video's but I do have some very small constructive criticism that might be of use. I was thinking, since each of your vids has a specific goal in mind to teach, why not put the time in the description for each subject within the video. For example on this one you got 3 subjects within 1 area of the game (parries). Put the time next to parry, another time link next to reversal parry, and another time link next to low parry. We will love you for doing this because it gives the viewer the ability to be able to shift around the video with ease. :) just a thought, keep up the great work!!! :)
I'm reliant basically entirely on yours and Aris's videos at this point to learn Tekken 7 system mechanics since the game teaches literally only to punch, kick, and block. You're a lifesaver!
Although, do try to take care not to cover up the input history with your facecam when you make these. Makes it easier to check what moves we're looking at when you're resetting in training mode.
yo bro this content is what i like to see , its me Electronic from the stream , i caught you in ur embarrassing moment during the 24 hour stream , regardless , i have been really liking these sorts of videos they are really in depth even for me someone who has played mainly Tekken 3 it is really refreshing to see how these characters work , Love the videos , Keep up the good work.
So this is the legendary CHICKEN! parry block I heard so much about, thanks now I know how to stop parries keep it up with these vids man you're doing GREAT
Kazuya has a parry when you press forward triangle when the counter starts when the opponent starts hitting and you do too Kazuya throws away the opponents hand and forward punches which is a secret parry king Jae
Hey King Jae just wanted to say thanks for all those good vids man. Havent played any fighting game for 10 years and you are really helping out. Keep it up buddy!
im glad that peopl like your self are sharing your knowledge with new tekken players, and i hope to peopele stick with tekken after learning at lease the basics, great job King , keep up the good work.
love your videos! I've been out of the Tekken scene since 4 so you're really helpful to bringing me up to speed again! If I can give you a respectful advice I'd do a little editing of the videos, or maybe record the gameplay and comment it later to streamline a little the stuff. Anyway great job. Cheers from Italy.
Hey bro, awesome videos! Thanks for all the advice, helped me to get back to tekken (i was playing T6 but stopped playing bout 3-4 years ago) im 3rd dan in ranking atm. You got my sub
Great videos! Wanted to ask you what hand position is the best for controllers? The best way of hitting two buttons simultaneously or just having a fast execution of commands. I find that the normal controller hold that uses the thumbs isn't as fast at pressing buttons as are the middle and index finger combined.
Asuka is so amazing character, really love her beacuse almost every move she uses has purpose, others have 10 signature moves but with asuka you can use 30 or even 40 moves per match.
That depends on the Player not the Character tbf. Some people like using what they are confident in, without having to worry bout moves they've never done before. Others like using everything their Character has to offer. And yeah Asuka is crazy, you've got to be on your toes to counter her countless mixups
yo kingjae! so i know you dont wanna talk about frames in this video but theres one question still bothers me.. these parries.. whats the start up frames for it? because if someone were to hit me before the active frames of the parry kicks in.. i wouldnt parry it right?... abit noob-ish question but you know thats why im here xD
Leo's reversal is good on walls. When you're backed onto a wall and you reversal a punch it gives you a wall splat. If you reversal a kick it automatically goes into like a certain counter animation. She's also got two other parries than can counter hit. b12 for kicks and punches, followed up with 2, 2 for punches and 2 for kicks, if I remember correctly. I think ub1 still exists, it parries high punches and can be followed up with 2.
Option select idea: back and 1+3 or 2+4(vary in timings to counter different strings) and buffer a move. Often just do 1 to 3 parries because you don't always know what your opponent will do because of the absolutely huge move lists in this game and usually you will want to buffer a jab as it is the safest option(this is especially good with Jin because his jabs lead into a full combo)
I am only used to keyboard and mouse and bought my first pad but i really struggle getting the diagonals only. Circles are no problem but pressing only one diagonal is nearly impossible for me, what i am doing wrong?
I kinda have the same problem in a 3d fighter like Tekken 7. I too am a PC gamer. Anyway, for some reason when I play games like MKX I can use the pad, but when I play Tekken it's almost a must have for me to use the stick. Don't know why, but I think it just boils down to preference. Some people are better with pad. Some with stick. It really shouldn't hurt your playing style by much though, and I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Just do whatever suits you, just like King Jae said about finding your Tekken character.
Cheers bro that helps so much, Got my Miguel up to Savior without even knowing how to do this, hopefully will get into the red tier with this little tip.
dude your sick hahaaa im a compmete newcommer to the tekken series (bought the game today) for me your a god xD its so hard to remeber combos and press everything fast
3-Star Dragonhunter I've learned that you don't necessarily have to press the buttons fast but there's a rhythm with certain characters and combos usually during a hit press the next button
King Jae do you use an arcade stick or a controller? I personally use a controller and i've been playing tekken for many years so im pretty good. But should I get an arcade stick because people told me that I will get better. So should i stick with a controller that im already good with or get an arcade stick?
I hope you don't mind me asking a question that's different to the video. I don't quite get the flow of the game as when I'm out of range and I don't want to do a combo, I find myself tapping forward twice before a punch/kick. What this means is every strike looks heavy and not quite as fast as a standing still attack (plus it looks visually repetitive with heavy punches/kicks that go 'boom!').
can you make a video about how to press d/f d/b etc, i struggle hitting it properly on my 360 pad. and maybe there are tips n tricks you can tell. also korean backdashing might be easier with certain finger positions on your 360 pad when holding your fingers like somehow whereas different certain positions might be helpful playing with a ps pad
Did i miss smthg? Everyone has low parry(dwn-fwd) but high parry is character spec? or everyone who doesnt have spec high parry has Fwd+Left grab? Rewatching to make sure
Subbed, everytime i look for somthing tekken realated i end up on one of your vids, thanks for all the tips and advice :) Jae in your oppionion is there a good counter pick to King? I dont think there is one tbh but if ive overlooked somthing id like to know :D
Xiaoyu has a parry(short duration, less frames)Timed right before attack, and Asuka has a counter/reversal (long duration, more frames). Both are good with the right mindset. Xiaoyu, fast paced reading in the heat of battle. Asuka, taking her time whilst dealing heavy damage.
hey im fairly new, i was just wondering, in pro games, do people pretty much always parry everything that is parryable? and also counterparry everywhere where it is possible? I would imagine it would be fairly difficult to have action if everyone is afraid of getting parried because the pros are so good they never miss it
Minepebble I am fairly new too, but I've watched pro matches regularly for the past few months and they don't even parry in every match, let alone every parryable move. You need to get a read on your opponent to parry, otherwise you eat a fist in the face.
I need help against fighting Steve. I'm a decent Hwoarang player and my cousin plays with Steve, his defence is great and I can't get past it, as well as this, he always blocks my combos and mixups and puts me on the receiving end of a Steve onslaught. Any and every piece of advice would be appreciated.
Can someone tell me exactly what Leo's three different parries does, or rather what attacks they actually parries? I'm too trigger happy with them but I'm a bit unsure how they work.
Camera smaller just so we could see the presses as they are happening would be nice maybe in a future video. Really helpful videos however so thank you.
Hello King, I am new to the game and I love Xiaoyu but I don't know how to counter the grabs people make me with X and A or Y and B (Cube and X and Triangle and Circle on PS4) also with Xiaoyu i know the mid parry and high is with Cube and Circle but how is the low parry? Please i am more interested in the counter grabs since i cant do them
No, low parry is pressing down and forward on the exact moment and each character has his own mid and high parry which is different, for example Ling Xiaoyu is Triangle and X or Y and A in xbox for high and mid parry
I'm finding it hard to do the Korean backdash thing. In tekken tag 2 my online rank was warrior and this game I'm finishing it hard, like for me everything feels different
I notice a lot of the pros have sticks, should I continue to use my stick or should I try it on a pad instead? It seems a bit easier to hit certain things with a stick.
I have been playing Tekken 7 (first one) for 200+ hours as Asuka and I have only use her parry less than 10 so far. Is it time for me to use it more or do I keep away from it? My highest rank is only a grand master so I'm still bad at this game.
while these seem very viable, how come I hardly see a tekken pro use them. I've been watching a bunch of T7 matches up till relase and I see them do more low parries than character specific parries. is it because they're more risky or what?
a newbie like me want to say " love you !" df to counter low is help me so much .thank you! I have some request can you do a specific tips about how to deal with spammer like Hrowrang ,Edie, etc. cause I have so much trouble to fight them .have no idea to face it . thank you again.

Could've called the episode "Parry-dise" missed opportunity :(
Just bought the game hard as hell
mkat490 that's what makes it satisfying when you get over the curve.
Yup yup yup 2019 yup yup
Worst tekken
@@lorenstallion7484 Why do you say that?
I prefer the older ones
Very important video. Thank you so much! I'm learing a lot from your videos every day!
Lili Also has a parry.
My main :D
Can Lili's parry be chickened?
Sibusino, no it cannot.
Good its my main character learning the game lol.
And Steve
to someone who absolutely sucks at tekken this really helps thanks for doing this
I've heard that certain characters have "Unique Parries" that can't be chickened. Do you know which characters have these moves or maybe a list of them online? That would be really helpful! Thanks for your time.
Steve fox has a parry too, but I think it only works with incoming high punches
LOVE your T7 video's but I do have some very small constructive criticism that might be of use. LOOOOL
Embarrassing moment? Please do tell!
good shit again. parries are very important. And again a player like me still learning something new with evrry video
Yeah its not a secret counter every character has that move
Hey King Jae just wanted to say thanks for all those good vids man. Havent played any fighting game for 10 years and you are really helping out. Keep it up buddy!
your face is blocking the control functions
I really appreciate the honesty, saying you don't know things is way better then acting like you do 👍
im glad that peopl like your self are sharing your knowledge with new tekken players, and i hope to peopele stick with tekken after learning at lease the basics, great job King , keep up the good work.

I find it quite difficult to parry with jin i always play jin or devil jin
with Jins parry, I believe your able to dodge rage arts
Yes you can xD and you can actually panish with your own rage art after xD
Hey bro, awesome videos! Thanks for all the advice, helped me to get back to tekken (i was playing T6 but stopped playing bout 3-4 years ago) im 3rd dan in ranking atm. You got my sub
Been playing for a few days now. Love it. Don't know why I am so late with Tekken. The parry animations are great, they adjust to the attacks.
I just bought this game for six bucks on steam so your tutorials been helping me before I start. 😂
Thanks
Great videos! Wanted to ask you what hand position is the best for controllers? The best way of hitting two buttons simultaneously or just having a fast execution of commands. I find that the normal controller hold that uses the thumbs isn't as fast at pressing buttons as are the middle and index finger combined.
Just discovered you a few days ago. You're the man for these tutorials
another nice vid. do you have a punish video planned?

I come from SF III: third strike and I think these parries can give me some happiness :D

Thanks for making this vid my dude, as a SF/MvC player this is very helpful transitioning into T7. (I plan to use Akuma).
ayo jae do you plan I'm making a guide for the characters that you play (mostly the ones you play in tournaments) like bob and gigas
Thanks for your tutorials they're great ! Can you leave the command history visible all the time ? Maybe put your picture in the left corner.
Hello King Jae. I learned something new today. I was in need to find a way to beat Asuka's parry. Now, it's time for my training. Thank you!
3-Star Dragonhunter I've learned that you don't necessarily have to press the buttons fast but there's a rhythm with certain characters and combos usually during a hit press the next button

dude your the best, keep uploading this type of content.
King Jae do you use an arcade stick or a controller? I personally use a controller and i've been playing tekken for many years so im pretty good. But should I get an arcade stick because people told me that I will get better. So should i stick with a controller that im already good with or get an arcade stick?
What song do you have playing in the background in the character select at the beginning?
I hope you don't mind me asking a question that's different to the video. xbeanx3000 What character(s) do you play. I would love to help you out if you're having trouble with stuff like that.
Hello Maw, I only play Jack-7.
Nice video man, thanks!
can you make a video about how to press d/f d/b etc, i struggle hitting it properly on my 360 pad. and maybe there are tips n tricks you can tell. also korean backdashing might be easier with certain finger positions on your 360 pad when holding your fingers like somehow whereas different certain positions might be helpful playing with a ps pad
Ione Wolf seems to be easier on PS dpad...
Does Devil Jin's b+2+4(1+3) count as a parry/reversal or is it similar to Yoshi's 1+4? Devil Jin's gets a bit of armor for whatever reason, lol.
Keep up the grind Jae, great guides! (y)
What do you mean by buffer the buttons?
Came to this video after Asuka KO'd me using only those leg swipes (8:07). I figured I should learn how to low parry before I punched my monitor.
Did i miss smthg? Everyone has low parry(dwn-fwd) but high parry is character spec? or everyone who doesnt have spec high parry has Fwd+Left grab?
Rewatching to make sure
see how there's a low parry, can you do a high parry like that? or is parrys specific to characters. im defiently subscribing to your channel. 💯
Quality content, earned a subscriber
asuka and paul's move is called a reversal thats why it has the move after. Jin used to have but I don't think he does anymore.
Subbed, everytime i look for somthing tekken realated i end up on one of your vids, thanks for all the tips and advice :) Jae in your oppionion is there a good counter pick to King? I dont think there is one tbh but if ive overlooked somthing id like to know :D
Hey jae is there anyway you can teach how to use the rage drives in the best situations?
Thanks alot for these videos, Can we get one on sidestepping in close range then punishing?
i think leo can do df4 after hand parry
and her parry can be reversal if parrying a kick
Was using Devil Jin last night and pulled off a low parry? I can't recreate it
why don't you move your camera on the bottom left so we can always see the buttons you hit?
Xiaoyu has a parry(short duration, less frames)Timed right before attack, and Asuka has a counter/reversal (long duration, more frames). Both are good with the right mindset. Xiaoyu, fast paced reading in the heat of battle. Asuka, taking her time whilst dealing heavy damage.
Can you do a tutorial teaching us about instant while running moves? I try to do a instant while running 3 with Lars but i keep getting dynamic entry
Nice video!
how do i parry incoming attacks with devil jin??
hey im fairly new, i was just wondering, in pro games, do people pretty much always parry everything that is parryable? and also counterparry everywhere where it is possible? That makes it very interesting! I guess the frames required to execute a parry are just greater than the frames required to execute a lot of moves.
I need help against fighting Steve. I'm a decent Hwoarang player and my cousin plays with Steve, his defence is great and I can't get past it, as well as this, he always blocks my combos and mixups and puts me on the receiving end of a Steve onslaught. I subbed bro, this was very helpful!
How does one chain double electric combos effectively?
Can someone tell me exactly what Leo's three different parries does, or rather what attacks they actually parries? I'm too trigger happy with them but I'm a bit unsure how they work.
does DJ say chicken when he chickens the parry?
hey bro i can't find repeat action under Action Settings. Do i have to do something else to get this setting??
Camera smaller just so we could see the presses as they are happening would be nice maybe in a future video. Really helpful videos however so thank you.
lol the old select character theme how did u get that? i want that on pc
thanks for the video sir... wanted to know how to low parry n now Im going to practice it
Hello King, I am new to the game and I love Xiaoyu but I don't know how to counter the grabs people make me with X and A or Y and B (Cube and X and Triangle and Circle on PS4) also with Xiaoyu i know the mid parry and high is with Cube and Circle but how is the low parry? I'm finding it hard to do the Korean backdash thing. In tekken tag 2 my online rank was warrior and this game I'm finishing it hard, like for me everything feels different
Give yourself some time to adjust. Remeber you also have to unlearn the Tag2 combos and moves that work differently . Also DAT RUST.
i am new to the game . how come i dont see the record on my action settings. Thanks
does steve have one?
does eliza have a parry?
it would be dope if you made a video on how to play claw
Jin can parry literally any move
He is God😎
I notice a lot of the pros have sticks, should I continue to use my stick or should I try it on a pad instead? It seems a bit easier to hit certain things with a stick.
Makron5 It really depends on your playstyle. The best uk tekken player is a pad player. He was able to compete with some of the top players.
When Leo swats a attack press 3 or ff+3 for parry
I have been playing Tekken 7 (first one) for 200+ hours as Asuka and I have only use her parry less than 10 so far. Is it time for me to use it more or do I keep away from it? My highest rank is only a grand master so I'm still bad at this game.
how to defend against Asuka Leg Cutter D/B+3,3,3 ?
while these seem very viable, how come I hardly see a tekken pro use them. I've been watching a bunch of T7 matches up till relase and I see them do more low parries than character specific parries. is it because they're more risky or what?
Josie also has a 1+2 parry for right punches
a newbie like me want to say " love you !"
df to counter low is help me so much .thank you!
I have some request
can you do a specific tips about how to deal with spammer like Hrowrang ,Edie, etc. cause I have so much trouble to fight them .have no idea to face it .
thank you again.
poppuri seed best tip? Practice. The more you fight a certain style/character, the more you'll realise what works and what DOESN'T (more important imho). Good luck!
thanks .no shotcut right.seems I just to get beaten more to learn 😭
Never knew how to get out of asukas parry.. Until now..much appreciated jae.. I aint calling u no king tho 😂
Leo has back 1+2 what does it do? (Someone help)
thanks jay
Can you parry rage arts? Trying it out now....doesn't seem like it.
No you cant
Well, jin can parry rage art actually
And I just 71 straight wit Paul so whenever you ready lol
Yo jae are you playin with stick or pad?
That Guy On The Internet pad
King Jae thanks for the reply and keep up the good work brotha✌🏼️
Ive always hated chickens since they first came out in 3. With reversals, the game became a game of feints and mind games, opponents never wanting to be baited into throwing a reversible move or becoming too predictable.
Then my friends learnt how to chicken. No more mind games.
Kazumi also has a parry... it's b1+2
Yeesssss thank you bro
Devil Jin doesn't have a parry? Why?
jae do you buffer on pad?
lol just saw the video rip
is tekken on ps4 60 fps?
