I met Chris Isaak back in 2001 and again in 2003 a few times! He was doing his tv sitcom "The Chris Isaak Show"in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Chris was so sexy back then too!!❤🥰 Chris is such a nice guy as well as his band mates!

He sings the first 2 verses softly, then 2 verses fully, then 2 more go to falsetto. Love this guy, many campfires and parties drinking and fooling around to Chris Isaak. Saw him live at a Rockabilly concert in the 90's, he wore a suit and was barefoot. Sweet but deadly voice. Love your reactions and comments 💙💙

One of the most beautiful songs definitely so glad you discovered it and love it. I'm a singer and I can do that vocal cry which is so fun and awesome to be able to do. I love singing some of Hank Williams music and doing that he did that a lot. Maybe take a listen to some Hank Williams long gone lonesome blues that will knock your socks off.

I've seen Chris and the band many times and even met Chris and other band members in person, he also had a weekly show in 1990s thru the 2000s that you can check on the UA-cam streaming channel, just type in The Chris Isaak show and there's a few shows. There are So Many Great Musicians to listen to others are like The Everly Brothers, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel and many others, Oh and BTW I'm Tim, an Ex Musician and a fan of the band

But yes, to just normal viewers it was very tame. It definitely should have had a PG-13 rating at most.

Chris Isaak was born and raised in Stockton, which is 1 hour+ away from the Bay Area. He moved to my hometown San Francisco 🌉. He surfed and made music. He often appeared in the Bay Area Music Awards (BAMMIES).
As for the music video 📹., the Helena Christensen was a top model then. She was a royal pain 😖 to Chris Isaak. Fast forward to now. She looks bad 👎 and Chris Isaak still is handsome 😃.

I don’t know if I would call a song that says “No, I don’t want to fall in love with you.” a love song. It is a very sad song about how everyone is broken and untrusting.
Maybe she misheard the lyrics like I did for the longest time years ago. I thought he was saying, "No I..... wanna fall in love". I couldn't hear the "don't" part, or didn't notice it anyway.

The lead vocals came out better on the studio version, I think. A lot more reverb helped.
But the backing vocals were better on this version.
Unfortunately for some reason this live version has been heavily pitch-corrected in post-production (cf. the Wings of Pegasus analysis of it), very difficult decision to understand regarding one of the best singers of all time.

The problem is it's been pitch corrected in post. You should listen to the original version that isn't pitch corrected, way better, because it's natural. This version that's been dragged to 440Hz looses a lot of expression and sounds unnatural. I am surprised you can't hear this and the synthesiser like quality to so much of the singing?
