Great reaction, Aaliyah! As a German I'm almost embarrassed to say that I'm only realising lately what an awesome band the Scorpions are and what a great singer Klaus Meine is. Greetings and much love
They are a group you can be very proud of. I got hooked on them in 82 (Blackout album). Was in Germany in 1989, Wind of Change will always be etched into my soul.
Fellow German here, and I have to say I've been a huge Scorpions fan since I was 16 - back when Tokyo Tapes was rather fresh 😅 And that is mostly due to Klaus Meine's incredible voice. He can hold his own even against a Dio or Mercury, I think.
@@diegocirilo1973 For me too, no question. Ahead of Dio, as well. Many would disagree, and I recognise that both Mercury and Dio had very powerful voices, but Klaus' voice touches the soul. That's how I feel at least. Glad to meet another Kaus Meine enthusiast 😁
What’s even more amazing about Klaus is that a few years before this song was released, Klaus almost had to quit, as his voice had gotten shredded nearly beyond repair. The band refused to hear it, told him to take as much time as he needed, but to do everything he could to get back in shape. Klaus had to go through surgery, therapy and a lengthy period of voice retraining. When he finally returned to record vocal tracks on the album Blackout, he sang better than he ever had - and was able to carry on at that level for the next album Love At First Sting. “Still Loving You” is the last song on that LP, and for me, cements his status as one of the great comebacks ever.✊🏼🎶
I saw the Scorpions 1983 in Dortmund Westfalen Hallen and this song is one of the most beautiful ballads i have ever heard. Klaus Meine has a fantastic voice.😄
Hello most beautiful young lady this is one of the most beautiful power ballads ever because the lead singer of The Scorpions got one of the most gorgeous voices on Earth
Ive seen them 6 or 7 times over the years. The first time was in 1983. The last time was in 2015, on their 50th Anniversary tour. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen!
Love Klaus' voice. He has great control of his vocals. Think my favorite lyric is, "You should give me a chance. This can't be the end. Im still loving you." Feel like you can hear the desperation to get her back and the realization that it might be over. I'm so happy you enjoyed the song and, as always, great reaction. 😊
I've been listen to Scorpions since the early 70s. Glad you finally got to hear them. Metal music is awesome. Classical music and Opera is awesome as well.
Nobody does power ballads better than the Scorpions. Others to try: When the Smoke is Going Down, Send Me an Angel among others. You might find it interesting that right about the time that the Scorpions were making it big on the world stage, singer Klaus Meine needed surgery on his vocal chords between the 1980 album "Animal Magnetism and the 1983 album "Blackout" (hence the 3 year hiatus). One of their earliest hits was "The Zoo" from Animal Magnetism and it illustrates very well the different sound of Meine's vocals pre surgery. After the surgery, his voice was.clear as.a bell,.but before, it was quite raspy (but his vocal talent still shows through the roughness). If you listen to the Zoo, make sure it's either a studio recording or a live recording no later than 1980. This song (Still Loving You") was from 1984's Love at First Sting, which also featured the big hit, "Rock You Like a Hurricane."
Scorpions were one of my late 70's to early 80's favorites. My top two albums of theirs are Lovedrive (1979) and Animal Magnetism (1980); every song on those two are really good. I saw them Live in '83...and yes, I do have a tattoo of a scorpion because of them.
Hi Aaliyah. One of my favorite bands from my youth. Love your reactions. I like when you for example sing. You have such a great voice. Thanks for sharing.
Nobody can performe a rock Ballad like Klaus Maine. He is and will always be the Goat. One of my favorites From Scorpions is "When the smoke is going down" 🤘🥰🤘
Thanks again for another great reaction. I've been saying for 4.5 decades that The Scorpions are the only heavy metal band that prioritizes melody above sound and volume. No other bands get mistaken for The Scorpions and vice-versa.
Ahhh....I always love seeing Aaliyah hit my main page! The best reactions to the music I grew up with....love seeing her smile in appreciation just like we did back in the 80's and still do today.
Wow! Since 1965!? I had no idea they'd been around that long. When "Rock You Like A Hurricane" became a hit in the 80's I assumed they were a part of the new hair metal wave of rock bands. I quickly realized they were much more than a hair band but, I still did not know that they'd been around so long.
They were just such a good band as a whole. None of them were spectacular separately, but they just made dozens of good songs, including this one. Their "World Wide Live" live album first got me interested in them, but they made a lot of good music.
Klaus Meine was really able to express a lot of emotion with the inflections in his voice, being able to go from a soft tone to a strong tone and back throughout his songs. The band liked to do this musically, often favoring an understated beginning that slowly builds to a powerful climax. This is such a powerful song with so much feeling. My take is that the guy messed up, badly, and the girl left him and he realizes how much he loves her and this is his love note to her pleading for another chance. They had such a great sound, Scorpions were masters of the power-ballad. I'm a little sorry this was a live version where the fade-out got cut out, you missed some great lead guitar. "The Zoo" is an iconic heavy-metal masterpiece you might want to check out.
Scorpions went through a musical transformation from their inception in Hanover, (West) Germany in 1965 when Rudolf Schenker (guitar) formed the band as a 'beat rock' combo playing 60's British rock music by bands like The Beatles... The Who... The Rolling Stones... Rudolf became friends w/ another local musician Klaus Meine (vocals) and recommended his teen brother Michael Schenker (lead guitar) for Klaus' band... In 1970, Klaus' band Mushrooms broke up... so, he and Michael Schenker joined Scorpions w/ Klaus Meine taking over vocals from Rudolf Schenker. In 1972, Scorpions recorded their debut album 'Lonesome crow'... which was a 'space rock' / psychedelic record inspired by Jimi Hendrix Experience... Cream... and similar UK bands ... Michael Schenker left in 1973 to join UK rockers U.F.O. and became a major guitar hero there. Klaus and Rudolf decided to reform Scorpions in 1974 w/ Ulrich Roth (lead guitar, now Uli Jon Roth) and Francis Buccholz (bass) and released a harder rock album 'Fly to the Rainbow'... Scorpions could only tour Europe in the 70's as they released more records... Herman Rarebell (drums) joined Scorpions in 1977... The band toured Japan for the first time in 1978 and recorded a live album 'Tokyo Tapes'. Ulrich Roth left Scorpions in '78 and Michael Schenker briefly came back to record Scorpions' 1979 album 'Lovedrive' before leaving again... Matthias Jabs (lead guitar) joined in '79 as Scorpions toured N. America for the first time and 'Lovedrive' sold gold (half million copies) in the US. Scorpions evolved into an arena rock band in the 80's as their 1980 album 'Animal magnetism' sold platinum... Vocal surgery put Klaus Meine on standby for months as Scorpions refused to replace him... Klaus found his voice return by 1982 and recorded the platinum album 'Blackout'... followed by their 3x platinum hit 'Love at first sting' in 1984 as Scorpions toured arenas across the world. Their 1988 album 'Savage amusement' went platinum and the tour was marked by their first ever concerts in Russia (USSR back then)... which inspired their massive hit ballad 'Wind of change' from their 1990 album 'Crazy world'... which sold 2x platinum in the US. Unfortunately, the 90's decade proved difficult for Scorpions in the grunge/ alternative rock scene that rejected 80's rock bands... Their albums 'Face the heat' in 1993 and 'Pure instinct' in 1996 failed commercially without major promotion... added to their woes, bassist Francis Buccholz quit the band in 1992... drummer Herman Rarebell quit in 1995. Ralph Rieckermann (bass) and American James Kottak (drums) replaced them. Scorpions refused to give in... their 1999 album 'Eye II Eye' was an attempt at a pop/ electronic sound... Pawel Maciwoda (bass) joined Scorpions in 2004 for the album 'Unbreakable' as they returned to a hard rock sound and saw record sales rise again w/ the albums 'Humanity Hour 1' in 2007 and 'Sting of the tail' in 2010... Scorpions toured past a 'farewell' tour and opted to continue... However, drummer James Kottak was fired in 2016 due to alcoholism - he passed away in 2024... Mikkey Dee (drums) from Motorhead joined Scorpions. Their latest album 'Rock believer' was released in 2022.
Awesome synopsis, as a fan who bought Lonesome Crow in 1970, lived through Uli Jon Roth and their growth as hard rock legends into global superstars in the 80s, I loved their 70s & 80s output to death, saw them a bunch of times and I still listen to them regularly. Still great in my book, she needs more of them, UFO & MSG. 🎸
I just love the look on people's faces when Klaus Meine drops that first belt right at the beginning 😁 Thank you for this reaction to my favourite band for 40 years. Klaus Meine is one of the best rock singers to ever stand on stage.
Klaus Meine is incredible and a great guy. At the beginning of his career he almost lost his ability to sing and became a rock icon. My respects to this incredible talent.
Thanks for the reaction..very well done, and I'll look forward to checking more out. Klaus Meine is definitely a heavyweight in rock as well as the Scorpions. Best of luck to you.
One of my favorite little guitar figures that this song was built around. Love this song. Germans tend to be reserved, so that when they are actually moved emotionally by something or someone, they put everything they have into their expression of it. I think this is why there have been so many great composers from Germany and Austria, they sometimes find it easier to put into music what they can't bring themselves to say with speech. Good job on the name pronunciation. German differs from English slightly in that there aren't really any silent vowels at the end of words, so "Meine" sounds something like "My nay".
Great reaction to a great band. After seeing your reactions to The Scorpions, UFO, Journey, Kansas, and Boston, you should really check out the band Triumph. Rik Emmet, the lead singer and guitarist, is criminally underrated. They have so many good songs but "Magic Power" live is incredible. I think you would really enjoy it.
@AaliyahCapili old Gen Xer's like me love it when our music gets discovered by your generation. At this point, it's pretty much the only contemporary music my kids listen to 😊
Awesome to see you again my dear! The Scorpions are an amazing band that is related to the band you recently reacted to, UFO, in that Michael Schenker is Rudolf Schenker's younger brother, was in both bands as an incredible lead guitarist, and along with his own band, MSG (Michael Schenker Group) have been in my regular rotation since the 70s. Michael and Rudolf both play Gibson Flying V Guitars, easy to spot them in any of these 3 great bands. The song you just reacted to was a monster hit for them, it has over a billion views and is one of their very best ballads. For another, do the video for Send Me an Angel. For a great Rocker, do Lovedrive, Michael is guesting on it and it is an all time banger! The Scorpions have been around since 1970 with several great eras of music. My favorites are from the Lovedrive album through the Animal Magnetism and Blackout albums. Please try the title cuts from each sometime and listen in awe to the power and glory of Rock n Roll! I saw them 9 times from 1979 to 2003 and they always delivered, their musicianship is off the charts and are led by one of the great, unique vocals in rock from the German Klaus Meine. This band is worth exploring for the rest of your life as are UFO with Phil Mogg on great vocals/great lyrics and you will also like Gary Barden on vocals with Michael in his MSG group from the early 80s. This is another band that will knock your socks off, please do the epic tune, I Want More, from Live at Budokon and listen in wonder! Thanks for listening to music that has meant everything to me, all my adult life. Great music does not fade away as long as new fans hunger to hear their greatness. Good listening, lovely lady, enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶🔥
Great reaction and insight Aaliyah! Others have already named several good song titles. I would like to add one to the ones that have already mentioned (Wind of Change, Send me An Angel, Rock you Like a Hurricane etc). I'd like to add my personal favorite: There's No One Like You. That's a rocker!
This was a lip-synched "performance" - artists would appear in person on these types of shows to promote their latest single, but just "air-band" their "performance". This was a common thing back in the day, it presented the band to the crowd and played the song as people would most recognize it (from the radio). I can only guess these not-so-live appearances were cheaper, too, as the band would just be required to show up and go through the motions, and not actually play. But you'd have to fact-check me on that one. This studio version (performed "not-so-live") is an edited-for-time mix, or "single edit" if you will clocking in at just under 5 minutes. The original album version runs close to 6½ minutes. This song was re-recorded in 2011, in two versions; the original arrangement, and a duet with Amandine Bourgeois, the latter of which, features "Frenglish" (English+French) lyrics, with the French translation title of Je T'aime Encore. The year prior, in 2010, a sequel was released called SLY (an acronym for Still Loving You). Where the original song was about young lovers trying to reconcile and repair a broken relationship, the same issue is revisited, but this time between parent and child - "SLY" is the (nick)name of the child, the product of the love between the couple from the original song. I like this song the best out of the bunch. I strongly recommend the sequel for a reaction video! 🙂
My thoughts exactly when I saw the setting and heard the guy announce the band: definitely a studio recording with the band just acting and lip-syncing. This isn't just a thing from the past. Even with modern sound technology you just can't have a band play in a room like this without having the drums blasting into each and every open microphone in the room and thus running the sound (unless you put the drum kit in a soundproof "cage"). That's why you never get real live rock music in this type of TV shows, except for stripped-down "unplugged" arrangements. Still a great voice and a great song. The soundtrack of my youth.
Klaus Meine has 1 of the great 👍 voices of 1980s metal. The Scorpions 🦂 wrote songs with Jim Vallance and Desmond Child. These 2 songwriters had their peak in the1980s. Klais Meine had the fortune 😊 to sing and write with them.
They have to have a lot of great rockers too like Rock You like a hurricane big city nights bad boys running wild the zoo tease me please me Alien Nation I can also say one of the insanely beautiful power ballads that I learned how to sing and did it karaoke it's called send me an Angel
I wonder what you would say if you perform an aria and someone in the audience stands up and shouts: "Everything stop! Let's talk about this."and some time later."OK! Continue." It seems that people nowadays do not learn anymore that sometimes music is one piece and should not be broken into pieces to get the whole thing.
Scorpions are an awesome band!!!!! Would like you to react to "LOVEBITES"s (Epilogue)!!!!! I'm a 71-year-old man and these Ladies are my favorite band!!!!! I'm on a very limited income so can't afford to join your patron to make a request but would appreciate it if you could do this request for me!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!
Saw them on the Crazy World tour in 91 in Los Angeles, my friend won tickets on a local radio station. Please react to "Wind of Change". Klaus is as good as anyone who ever picked up a microphone.
Klaus Meine sure has a voice that one will´recognizese again. POSITIVE NEWS: Ann Wilson of Heart just declared that she is free of cancer! One of the most beautiful voices in rock. Aaliyah: pls check them out! Barracuda might be the most noticed. But thre is a lot more. Alone has been covered by soooooo many! They where influencial. Don't be shy to ask me for another suggestion about them. 13 CD's here, on my shelf. Greetings from the far north of Germany!
Not sure if you have covered the Queensryche MTV unplugged session or not but is a must for any singer to admire. Geoff Tate as well as the band are on point and simple perfection in music. A massage for the ears.
It's nice to "see them perform" unfortunately all of the performances on Peter's Pop Show were lip synching over the studio track. That said, when you do see an actual live performance Scorpions are just as good. Klaus nails it live. Phenomenal band.
Ive been watching your videos for a while and i love how someone whose classically trained gets to be exposed to rock music. I'm guessing this is not something your parents either listen to nor know anything about, and that's how people your age get to know rock music.
Hi Aaliyah! A mostly lurking viewer here. Just wanted to let you know I feel your mic volume could be turned up a bit to match the volume of the music you're listening to. Here's to you listening to more music!!!
Klaus gets SO high! (notes, I mean) You said you like guitar work, too. Most people don't know their 70's stuff before they made it big. But they had a different guitarist and were legitimately a metal band then. Check out The Sails of Charon (not so much for a reaction video).
This is such a classic, glad you liked it Aliyah. One other singer that lovrs to move between an airy head voice and powerful belts was the frontman for my favorite band, Rhapsody. Here's Magic of the Wizard's Dream ua-cam.com/video/Z93SdirnzTw/v-deo.htmlsi=EHRhtCFgM-GVLc0z a beautiful ballad in a duet with actor Christopher Lee, the Saruman of Lord of the Rings, who happens to be a marvelous basso cantante. His name is Fabio Lione and he is with Angra now. Elizabeth, The Charismatic Voice, loved that song, btw.
The look on your face when he's singing is priceless

*One of the most iconic rock bands of all time*
Legendary music, iconic band, indescribably beautiful woman
Triple crown on that one!
What’s even more amazing about Klaus is that a few years before this song was released, Klaus almost had to quit, as his voice had gotten shredded nearly beyond repair. One of my all time favorite power ballads. Klaus’s voice is so unique, so strong.
‘Send me an Angel’ is another slow song with great vocals.
I agree, but even there new stuff is great:

I saw the Scorpions 1983 in Dortmund Westfalen Hallen and this song is one of the most beautiful ballads i have ever heard. Klaus Meine has a fantastic voice.😄
I saw them in KB hallen in copenhagen in 1989 with Vixen as warm up and yes they also played this song but my favorit from that set was "The Zoo"
Thanks so much for sharing
Ce tube légendaire des Scorpions approche la perfection. Il est inoubliable !
Great introduction. The Scorpions will definitely Rock You Like a Hurricane.
A lot of great songs.
Great song Wind of Change one of my favorite Scorpios songs about the fall of the Berlin wall
Hello most beautiful young lady this is one of the most beautiful power ballads ever because the lead singer of The Scorpions got one of the most gorgeous voices on Earth
These are the jams! Scorpions are serious ROCKERS! They are AWESOME in concert.
Ive seen them 6 or 7 times over the years. The first time was in 1983. The last time was in 2015, on their 50th Anniversary tour. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen!
Greatest rock ballad of all time!!!!!!!
...totalmente de acuerdo con lo que dices ..la mejor balada ...
Met Klaus and Matthias in Edmonton in 1984 (Love at First Sting tour). Took the time to chat. Nicest guys. Fantastic concert.
Really picked a great singer to study here of course he'd been a professional singer for twenty years at this time of his career
Nice, what an awesome singer. My favorite by them must be Wind of Change. Such a historical and important song. ❤
I've been listen to Scorpions since the early 70s. Glad you finally got to hear them. Metal music is awesome. Classical music and Opera is awesome as well.

I saw them live when they sang the song Beautiful I've never seen so many bras at the stage they were flying from everywhere
I don't think I've ever seen someone instantly express so much JOY in a reaction. Your face was Priceless...😄
This is one of the all time power ballad anthems I would say
I really like how you go back to a 57 years old teen years! Great reaction! Keep up the great work alliya!
Thank you!! 😁
This song can listen every day ❤❤❤
Definitely my favourite song from this awesome band,Aaliyah. Thanks for the reaction!😀
Thanks so much too💕
It's the first time you heard this song and you sang a little bit of it...and you NAILED IT!!!!!! That's talent!!!!!! Great reaction!!!!!
Enjoyed this reaction, so many great singers from this time period.

That entire live album, "Scorpions, World Wide Live" is a banger from front to back...
Early 80s seen Scorpions and Bon Jovi opened up for them.
I've seen Scorpions twice in my lifetime. Both times in the 80s.

Back in USSR in late 80s all school discotheques used Scorpion slow ballads for slow dance.
As always, great analysis and reaction. Cudos !!!!! 🤘🏼🤪🤘🏼
He's got them shoes off the plant himself and really belt out the notes
I would like to recommend Winds of Change. It’s on of the few of many great Scorpions songs

Hi Aaliyah, I'm 66 now but I say them a long time ago at a very small venue when I was a teen in the early 1970s, I even spoke too some band members 😎
So many great songs in the 80's
I'm really enjoying your reactions and poking through previous videos. I hope you keep up the good work. Thank you.

GREAT REACTION TO A GREAT BAND THE SCORPIONS
Klause Meine is phenomenal. There is no one that can match his unique Tenor rock voice.
wow you have grown into a beautiful young woman.
Yes Klaus has one the best voices in rock especially in ballads like this one .
...and sometimes Rudolph's brother Michael Schenker from UFO another super group! It was very hard there were so many great bands.
Thanks for the recommendations💕
@AaliyahCapili old Gen Xer's like me love it when our music gets discovered by your generation. At this point, it's pretty much the only contemporary music my kids listen to 😊
You always deliver Aaliyah excellent reaction ❤❤.
Amazing he can sing like this after going thru several throat surgeries.
This mans voice is Fire!
Saw them live in Norway, must have been around 1988-89, great live band =)
They Scorps are top tier metal. The double live album "World Wide Live" was a very frequently cassette played when I was riding out on the early 80s.
Holiday by them is an underrated love song from their Lovedrive album 😎
The power ballad makes sense to me if you think of Klaus's belts like the power chords of the guitars.
Good reaction and finally you sang a sentence or two with your voice!! I believe his voice was shot later in time and needed surgeries 😳
Can't go wrong with The Scorpions.
I know that Klaus was classic trained singer. And I do believe that he was trained in opera
Great reaction 👊
I knew they were going to blow your mind 😁
Klaus Meine has 1 of the great 👍 voices of 1980s metal. The Scorpions 🦂 wrote songs with Jim Vallance and Desmond Child. These 2 songwriters had their peak in the1980s. Klais Meine had the fortune 😊 to sing and write with them.
Che meraviglia che sei!❤️
Klaus Meine and Ronnie James Dio were pint sized powerhouses !
Spot On!
They have to have a lot of great rockers too like Rock You like a hurricane big city nights bad boys running wild the zoo tease me please me Alien Nation I can also say one of the insanely beautiful power ballads that I learned how to sing and did it karaoke it's called send me an Angel
Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism and Blackout. 3 legendary Scorpions songs and albums she need to hear...
This is a reaction video. Look at the original video if you require instant satisfaction
You need to react to Winds of Change. This is the penultimate song of the end of the Cold War!
One of The Scorpions Best. Aaliyah you should reach to their Songs Winds of Change. The Zoo and Rock You Like a Hurricane
❤❤❤The Who A Quick One!!! Please one off the first rock opera!!! Great pop rock vocals!!!
Got chills too such a badass love it need to do The zoo next killer band you rock
Saw them on the Crazy World tour in 91 in Los Angeles, my friend won tickets on a local radio station. Please react to "Wind of Change". Klaus is as good as anyone who ever picked up a microphone.
Girl you have to do Kamelot "Sacramony" live.
Check out Scorpians , Always Somewhere , Sails of Charon , Animal Magnetism
Ive been watching your videos for a while and i love how someone whose classically trained gets to be exposed to rock music. I'm guessing this is not something your parents either listen to nor know anything about, and that's how people your age get to know rock music.
Hi Aaliyah! A mostly lurking viewer here. Just wanted to let you know I feel your mic volume could be turned up a bit to match the volume of the music you're listening to. Here's to you listening to more music!!!
Oh Thanks for the feedback💕
Klaus is the singer. Rudolf is the guitarist w/ the V guitar & mustache. fyi.
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Klaus gets SO high! (notes, I mean)
You said you like guitar work, too. Most people don't know their 70's stuff before they made it big. But they had a different guitarist and were legitimately a metal band then. Check out The Sails of Charon (not so much for a reaction video).
❤✌
Check out their songs In Trance and Animal Magnetism.
