This is basically baby making music!😊. Chris Isaak is way more than just one song. He has lots of excellent material! Also kudos to the guitarist who did a fantastic job! His playing was sensual, and sexy!❤❤❤
The last line is often misinterpreted by listeners, it really means everybody loves someone, which I think a lot of Americans especially don't get, especially on first listen
I saw Chris Isaak live in concert a week ago in Stockholm (Sweden). He's amazing live! Great voice, and both he and the band is really fun to watch. A real show 👍
*Helena Christensen* was a Danish model & 5'10 This spent 24 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 reaching 6 I remember it getting plenty of play on MTV (were talking early 90's)
Underrated artist with a banging band. He and his band also had a tv show (comedy) in the late 90's/early 2000's that was really funny and had some great musician cameos. "Baby Did a Bad, Bad, Thing" is another track to check out.
Some other fine songs by Chris Isaak are 'Blue Spanish Sky', 'Two Hearts', 'Forever Young', 'Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing', and 'Somebody's Crying' along with many, many more. Thanks for the reaction.
Asked about the video shoot, Chris said he was getting all wrapped up looking into her (iconic) eyes. Then the director would yell cut.....and she would stand up a walk away. It was crushing...LOL
One of those perfect songs. He was also in a couple Art House movies in minor roles and he was really good. Kind of soft-spoken but highly charismatic. But he is a great singer, that is for sure. In the whole musical arrangement is just flawless.
This music video won a bunch of awards. That black sand beach no longer exists - it was covered over with lava a few years ago. That's Danish supermodel Helena Christensen Chris is frolicking on the beach with. I had to learn that lead guitar part on my Stratocaster - it's so very cool!
Several years ago, I saw Chris in concert at the Mt. Baker Theatre in Bellingham, WA. His live performance was fantastic. While performing one of his songs, he came right up into the balcony in the theatre to sing for us people in the cheap seats. He's a really nice guy.
I like the timelessness of the video . There is nothing to fix it to a time period because its set on a beach. The guitar has a 60s surf vibe in its toine, but the reverb gives it a haunting vibe.
Chris wrote this after getting a booty call that he knew he should not really say yes to. He wrote the song in the 45 minutes it took her to arrive! He is the GOAT.
What is clear from the video is that he is in love and the video shows her not that fussed, looking away and looking at her nails. This girl is really gonna break your heart.
My wife and I got the Chris Isaak cassette that this song was on, And we just fell in love with it. We got the cassette from McDonald's for a promotion they were having.
Still hits as if it was the first time listening everytime that opening guitar riff plays. Also as others have noted, the women in the video is Helena Christensen a Danish supermodel. She was with Michael Hutchence (INXS) for five years before his death. She also has a now adult son (whom is almost a maleclone of his mother) with Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead).
Chris has huge Elvis and Roy Orbison influences. I saw him open for Tina Turner like 25 years ago at least(wow, I'm getting old) He also had a funny comedy show for a little while and an interview show. I remember he did a great interview with Glen Campbell. This song is a very strong reminder of a lost love for me. Possibly for many. This song is from a great album he did.
If you think this was too spicy for the time, you have a false conception of the time. For evidence of this fact, see Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" video. That was not even extreme for then.
You guys should watch the live version, after having watched the video version. It captures the same feeling for me. I've always thought of the black and white video to be very mysterious in a sense. You can feel this song as opposed to just hearing it. Is how I would explain it.
The Orbison influence is obvious. He is a big fan. The description from one of your other viewers is perfect! By the way, he puts on a great show, he is a very funny guy who interacts well with the audience! His television program, obviously also initiated, new fans. I definitely go to another concert by him in a heartbeat!
This is simply stunning vocally and musically and throw in the moody black and white video you have an all round masterpiece. This always reminds of a similar vibe and video from Black with "Wonderful Life" which is also stunning.
Hi guys if you ever get the chance try listening to 10cc "Life is a Minestrone" what a great happy song that will make you bop! You need to listen to their hits they had many back in the 70's great production, sound and song writing by Graham Gouldman who also wrote for other bands eg. the Hollies. All their song were different just great music. They were one of my favourite bands growing up as well as "Supertramp" Just wonderful music that never disappoints.
If Chris ever passes nearby you doing a concert, run to buy tickets. You don't even need to know the rest of his catalogue. He's a great, engaging showman.
I had a "video album" of Chris Isaak and I thought that he bore a striking resemblance to Rick Nelson. Of course, "Wicked Game" was the highlight...great song, great video.
I became of fan of Chris because of this song back in the early '90s. It was the beautiful guitar music that first caught my attention. He has a LOT of great songs; it's too bad that this one is the only one that any one ever reacts to.
The funny thing you say about supermodels, the girl was actually a supermodel during that time. Her name was HalimaKristiansen. Very very beautiful girl.
What an absolutely beautiful song. But his voice always made me sad. Heck, the whole song does. He always reminded me of Roy Orbison. And this song was hugely popular. The video was on MTV constantly as well as the radio.
Love the reactions as always! I was hoping y'all might pick up on the chorus singing in the background "This world is only gonna break your heart"... This song is def a song about person with such a broken heart that they now have that stank outlook of "there's no such thing as love". And that's why the last line in the lyrics is "Nobody loves no one"... I think most of us have been there at some point ha! And then we heal our emotional wounds, reflect, and get back in the game of searching for love... I hope some day you do the live version. PERFECTION. To watch Chris Isaak and the band pull this off effortlessly is a real joy. And geez this early days of MTV video for the song was almost soft porn haha!!! Once again thanks as always for the cool song reactions choices!
Teenage me in the early 90s really appreciated this music video. Not sure why. 🤔 But yes, fantastic song and so smooth! And that bassline is sublime! Did you pick up on the background vocals "This world is only gonna break your heart"?
Sorry guys, we had to add the effect on this one or else we wouldn't have been able to post the video at all!
May I suggest reacting to Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue WHERE THE WILD ROSES GROW it a good song from the album murder ballads
its ok bro we got sam to gaze at..deep an wide hott lol
There is only one reaction channel I watch that never pauses and they’ve been doing it for over 5 yrs🎉
No worries. Doesn't take away from the music
What effect? ... ... Just kidding, do what you gotta do.
Fans said that Chris Isaak was the result of Roy Orbison and Elvis having a child...his voice!!! Just beautiful
Perfect
Holy crap, what a great description of this song and style! I can totally hear both.
Dang it, i was g9nna say that!!! Agree 100%
Also reminds me Raul Malo of the Mavericks.
@@Mario-it3po I love that you said that, I love his voice and their music. But nobody ever reacts to them, and he's got one of the best voices around
She was a Danish supermodel her name is Helena Christensen.
Great song ❤
I'd mention that she was dating the singer of INXS before he passed.
@Hornet71 she was with Michael when he was beaten and received the brain damage.
She is otherwordly beautiful!
and David Lynch was directing this video
@@happyheretic01 Oh yes, you were right. There is another Video by David Lynch ua-cam.com/video/-cV0IL2Dtok/v-deo.html
This Song Is a Masterpiece! One Of The Best Songs Ever Written.
wow thanks
One of the sexiest songs ever written and performed 🔥
Surprised their wrap up lasted 3 minutes, thought they'd gave some urgent business to rush to after watching it.
You should see him live if you haven’t
The guitar work in this is fantastic, as is Chris' vocal performance.
A one word description for this song is, Sultry…❤
You guys have GOT to check out the live version! Sounds just as good or better than the studio version!
Chris Isaac can do it all...Model, Actor, Singer and Songwriter....
... your mom
...and he was once a boxer, too.
Twin Peaks
This is basically baby making music!😊. Chris Isaak is way more than just one song. He has lots of excellent material! Also kudos to the guitarist who did a fantastic job! His playing was sensual, and sexy!❤❤❤
Haunting!
Yes. I disagree with their take that listeners wouldn't get the steamy vibe unless they were watching. It's there in the words and the music.
"This World is only Gonna Break Your Heart! "
The soft lyrics in the chorus.
Great song...
"Nobody Loves No One!"
Great line
The last line is often misinterpreted by listeners, it really means everybody loves someone, which I think a lot of Americans especially don't get, especially on first listen
Very few songs give me goose bumps, this one does every time.
I saw Chris Isaak live in concert a week ago in Stockholm (Sweden). He's amazing live! Great voice, and both he and the band is really fun to watch. A real show 👍
I saw him live and the women go crazy for him!
Me❤❤❤
Go figure? Any woman with a pulse, straight or gay, I'm thinkin'...
*Helena Christensen* was a Danish model & 5'10
This spent 24 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 reaching 6

Glad you reacted to this.one of my all time favs. Romantic and haunting. Kind of sticks with you.
Underrated artist with a banging band. He and his band also had a tv show (comedy) in the late 90's/early 2000's that was really funny and had some great musician cameos. "Baby Did a Bad, Bad, Thing" is another track to check out.
I believe he also had a reoccurring part in Twin Peaks.
Some other fine songs by Chris Isaak are 'Blue Spanish Sky', 'Two Hearts', 'Forever Young', 'Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing', and 'Somebody's Crying' along with many, many more. Thanks for the reaction.
Definitely blue Spanish sky
It's truly a masterpiece
A perfect song and a perfect video. And Chris Isaak was a LUCKY GUY
Asked about the video shoot, Chris said he was getting all wrapped up looking into her (iconic) eyes. Then the director would yell cut.....and she would stand up a walk away. It was crushing...LOL
1
I'd argue that he's sexier than her. And I'm straight.
She was so used to modeling in the nude that it wasn't a thing for her.
Although filmed in Hawaii, both said that they were freezing during the shoot. The parts where they're pressing against each other was "for warmth"..
What a wicked game she played
One of those perfect songs. He was also in a couple Art House movies in minor roles and he was really good. Kind of soft-spoken but highly charismatic. But he is a great singer, that is for sure. In the whole musical arrangement is just flawless.
He was a member of the SWAT team in The Silence of Lambs
This music video won a bunch of awards. That black sand beach no longer exists - it was covered over with lava a few years ago. That's Danish supermodel Helena Christensen Chris is frolicking on the beach with. I had to learn that lead guitar part on my Stratocaster - it's so very cool!
It's notable to mention that the soft female vocal after Chris sings, "I wanna fall on love" says...
"This world is only going to break your heart"
I think its "this girl is only going to break your heart"
@@hartspot009 nope
its not a girl..its Issak's bass player
@@hartspot009 I think it's "world"
Not a female vocal - harmony with Chris's bass player and other guitarist
Several years ago, I saw Chris in concert at the Mt. Baker Theatre in Bellingham, WA. His live performance was fantastic.

He's a really nice guy.
Now try Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing, and yes you'll have to use the effect again, but you'll love the song
one of my favourites is Dancin'
Nice! + Musics Chris Isaak , i ❤like!
Chris Isaak had a series with his band on Showtime in the early 2000s. It was good.I just found out he is 68. He still looks young.
I am glad you guys did this song I have always loved it and probably always will
I like the timelessness of the video . There is nothing to fix it to a time period because its set on a beach. The guitar has a 60s surf vibe in its toine, but the reverb gives it a haunting vibe.
He sings this live and it's just as good. The guitar is a Fender Strat using the whammy bar to get the mournful sound
I've seen Chris live many times. Sounded this good or better. Plus he is a very funny guy!
his "Baby did a bad bad thing" is also a great song
He is from the 209 here in Central California and even had his own show on Showtime that’s how BIG he was!!!!!✌🏼❤️
Hey!!!! I'm from the 209!! Modesto here!!!
@@sarahdixon1943 I’m in Oakdale

Great album !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guitar work is also great!
It’s the last line of the song that gets me - “nobody loves no one”. Makes it deeper than just one story.
Chris appeared on an Australian current affairs program. The Host, who was a very take charge type of woman, just melted under his charm.😊
This song is so light- makes you feel like you're on a cloud.
My wife and I got the Chris Isaak cassette that this song was on, And we just fell in love with it.
We got the cassette from McDonald's for a promotion they were having.
When you're a guitar player and all you can hear is that dreamy guitar. Awesome
There is also a live "studio" version which is killer.

She actually was a super model. Just imagine how “spicy” this was for the 90’s. Can’t believe they actually played the video on TV.
MTV had to have before 10pm and after 10pm versions of this video.
If you think this was too spicy for the time, you have a false conception of the time. For evidence of this fact, see Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" video. That was not even extreme for then.
He still can do that long note to perfection in live performances today.
Handsome Chris Isaac and supermodel Helena Christenson together on a beach. Everyone was happy. And that voice.
Definitely a super model in this vid. It’s Helena Christensen 😊
Who was in a relationship with Michael Hutchence of INXS for about 5 years..
This could be Roy Orbison's kid . Great voice. Love it.😎👍
This is one of the most covered songs of the last forty years. Daisy Gray does an epic cover!❤
First and last time you listen to Chris Issac though i do know another banger
“Somebody’s Crying”
"I Wonder" is another great song from him. It was featured in the film "Fools Rush In" starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. Good movie.
Chris was also quite the actor.
Your explanation of her attitude in the video is spot on, no one has caught on to it as well as you.
You guys should watch the live version, after having watched the video version. It captures the same feeling for me. I've always thought of the black and white video to be very mysterious in a sense. You can feel this song as opposed to just hearing it. Is how I would explain it.
Songs to listen to from Chris Isaak.
DON'T MAKE ME DREAM ABOUT YOU and
WRONG TO LOVE YOU are a couple of his best music.
I recommend "Nothings Changed" or "Somebody's Crying".
That is Danish Supermodel Helena Christenson, she once dated Michael Hutchence from INXS.
Chris is a great talent 👌
The fun of watching reaction videos is watching the reactor experience something or someone for the first time
Woah!!!! 🤩
He became so popular back in the day he had his own talk show for a while about the same time Harry Connick Jr. and Billy Ray Cyrus had theirs.

Loved that Friends used this song the first time Rachel and Ross made love in the Museum
Saw him live about three weeks ago...so so good!! Funny, charming, and his voice as smooth as always❤
what a masterpiece. One of my all time faves, that whole album was unique and really good from front to back.
Such a beautiful unique track. Chris has a phenomenal voice
This song sits deep in the center of the soul of every Gen Xer
This is simply stunning vocally and musically and throw in the moody black and white video you have an all round masterpiece. This always reminds of a similar vibe and video from Black with "Wonderful Life" which is also stunning.
I've only heard this on the radio before.
"Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing"
This was in a very dramatic scene in the David Lynch movie "Wild at Heart".

Has anybody mentioned "Wild at Heart"? That was my first experience with this.
This definitely a country backroad drive at night track......wailing, and crooning along to the song all by yourself.
He's got a lot of good songs but I would recommend 'Can't do a thing to stop me" for another reaction.
It's a song of unrequited love.
The Beautyful Model is Helena Christianson..... She still Look's as Good... His voice is PERFECT👈♥️
I had never heard this song until Gina Miles sang it on The Voice.
What an absolutely beautiful song. But his voice always made me sad. Heck, the whole song does. He always reminded me of Roy Orbison.

He’s got a lot of great albums ,later on he had his own TV show for a couple of years kind of Elvis style
