Hi Folks! Very excited to share our ADT Review! This was a lot of fun to shoot and something we had been trying to do properly for quite a while and I hope we do not disappoint. We just bought a house and I was wanting to go with the service but one thing I found out is with this contract you have to do five years/60m if you stop at three years you’ll have to pay 75% of the last two years of payments upfront when you cancel the service kinda trash…….

Did you get ADT through an authorized ADT dealership? Not all ADT dealerships are great, and they typically handle the customer service for the first 6 months. But some of them are fantastic. Just like any business really.
I have ADT and the outside camera (in Texas) sucks! The camera fogs up and sees nothing!

Is there a date and time timestamped and visible on the videos or clips you save to your phone?
Great video. But a heads up to viewers, the average person that can afford ADT will not be using the IQ panel and sensors you see him use in this video. These are usually only installed in Custom Home VIP services. If your house hold income is $xzy,yyy or more, or you're a federal judge, or your habitat is 4k+ sqrFt you qualify. Other wise, you get the panel shown in 3:17.
Both use the same app and the monitoring is the same. The custom home service ones just have longer range. Like you can put a sensor on your cooler so when you go a few hundred feet away from your beach home to take a swim, you will know when someone opens your cooler to steal your beer.

I just ordered it today. They’ll be here in the morning. It’s good enough. I can tell it’ll work. It’ll do the job. I don’t know. What else to do. I mean who’s gonna be better than ADT AROUND HERE I DON’T KNOW. I DON’T THINK ANYBODY I’M SURE NOT GONNA GO WITH VIVINT
Still many questions to ask! For example, how much does each component cost after the basic system has been installed and does the additional component add to the monthy cost.
No extra charges you just pay the monthly service of the plan you decide to get for your home.
Great video. I think ATD is a good brand but I think most people don't like the price to monitor or they would rather monitor their own and not pay.
You can't beat my free cia and fbi surveillance way better than adt
You can’t monitor your own.
Monitoring means police come if a break in and fire department if a fire.

Hey Gabe, Great video and very informative. I just wish you would give ball park figures for the three systems.
Prices can vary from state to state and there are all kinds of discounts you may be eligible for.
I just got a quote from ADT and they charge approx $59/month and they want a 36 months contract that you literally can NEVER get out for any reason whatsoever. So if you are not happy with their system, or any other circumstance you can’t cancel or else.
They do not offer exterior video surveillance cameras, you have to purchase them through the tech that comes to install the system at the cost of approx $299 each plus taxes.
Their surveillance system, and door bell depends HIGHLY on your internet. This means that if you have a large house like mine, with a ton of stucco/cement interior walls, the signal will not make it through the house and you will lose connectivity. This is precisely the reason why I wanted a traditional wired system that didn’t depend on the internet. If you live in a remote area where internet is not available, you are pretty much out of luck.
I think given the facts, I will just stick to my ring system and find a way for the signal to go through my house to not lose connectivity.
I feel that if a company provides a good product and service, they should not hold a customer “hostage” with a long contract. Their equipment can be removed if the contract were to end and charge a disconnect fee

Thanks for the great ADT review. I have one important question about ADT service offerings. Is there an option that a customer can choose that will allow the ADT customer to stream surveillance video 24/7 to the cloud? Rather than creating zones or creating tripwires, the camera simply records 24/7 to the cloud for perhaps a more premium price? I'm not interested in zones or tripwire. I am interested in going back and knowing I have a cloud-based archive of my video that I can refer to after a potential security incident. I'm ok with the video feed being eventually overwritten after one or two weeks, but I still want it recording and available to me.

They just told me it's ~$6 extra/month for 24/7 recording, 30 or 60 days (I forget exactly already, sorry) before first in / first out deletion of old video. You can still view the highlights / clips or whatever too, i.e. what you got if you didn't upgrade.
That was my understanding anyway, having jusy hung up about 20m ago with the ADT rep who called when I requested it on their website.
This is not needed and actually incredibly insecure. Don't do this
We recently partnered up with Google Nest that allows customers to get 24/7 Recording that get stored to a cloud for 10days more then enough time incase something happens. I work for ADT if you have not set it up I might be able to help with that.

You have ADT Custom Home, which most ADT customers do not have. There are a lot more benefits to homeowners with this level of service than you may even know. Custom Home Gold Service is to appeal to affluent homeowners. Expert security advisors work directly with the homeowner to address all needs. Gold Service customers also get a 24/7 dedicated line to a preferred service agent as well as dedicated email. Even the monitoring station is specialized for Gold Service homeowners. ADT Gold does not have "packages" because every system is designed specifically for the homeowner and their home. Custom Home systems also use different equipment like: keypads, door sensors, glassbreaks, motions, and life safety devices. Good overall video. However, the average homeowner will see some differences than what you have shown.

There are so many DIY systems available. It would help if we had a better understanding of your needs.
get a dog. and nosy neighbors. the only downside is lots of false alarms. also poop. (dog poop, not neighbor poop)

Keep a lot of gorilla tape on your inside door turn knobs you know the turn thing and. If you get cameras put reflector tape I swear to God they will never talk to you about reflector tape I argue with one guy at ADT Craig he's crazy he will write down when I beg him not to write down I'm not going to wrap up the camera he's so bad I'm not wrapping up the camera aluminum foil but there are reflector things to do this very important because I know somebody who turns off these cameras with a laser gun also someone can open your locs with a rake key that's very very scary. Put reflector tape behind each camera so when they hit your camera with the laser gun it will bounce back

@@lapame0204 I think Vivint’s average response time is much better than ADT. Something like 9 seconds for Vivint and 45 seconds for ADT.

ADT covers multiple avenues.. residential, small business, bigger custom homes, and commercial
Custom home is usually for specialised system not the usual home security, traditionally custom home is for people with mansions and require different needs from the normal suburban home but idk why he had it
It's basically Visonic components! Which is probably the best brand in the world for wireless alarm systems
NEST cameras have been using the “trip-wire” and “ground zone” features for years… way before ADT started using it.
Adt just partnered with Google. So Google devices will be available pretty soon. I mean cameras 👍
my adt came with NEST cameras instead of adt cameras..

I was a despatcher at ADT and I know them well. If your a smart criminal then all you need to do is activate a zone 3-4 times in one hour, ADT policy is "if a zone is activated 3 or more times in one hour disable that zone. For example walk up to a window and tap it hard and that will set of the alarm for said zone that us despatchers see on our computer and 3 or more in an hour implies a faulty sensor that needs resetting. Then there's the armed patrol ADT hires, there not that good at doing what they should do.
At on patrol tires what's that people??
Someone else told me that, my fix for that was....7 cameras, one facing driveway, doorbell camera, back patio camera, one camera on all four corners of the house looking down the side of the house for total coverage. There are no blind spots, you cannot approach the house without being seen on camera. So they can tap on the window all they want...they will be seen doing it in an attempt to disable a zone.

Great video, but can you also speak to their camera quality, coverage area, reliability of motion detection, mobile alert/notification time when someone is on property, etc. Is contact only made once someone has broken into a window/door, or do they initially alert/notify when someone comes onto the property? I’m hoping for initial alert/notification, and if necessary, contact.
Question about both… Once you finish paying for the equipment, be it monthly or upfront, is that equipment only compatible with that company or can you use it with other companies?
A lot of people new to home security world, like myself, also hear terms like Power Over Ethernet (PoE), NVR, etc., can you please briefly explain what they mean as it relates to home security systems?
Anyone with knowledge about my lengthy and probably silly questions can answer. My hubby and I just purchased our 1st home, and I wanted to do a little research and learn about home security before making a decision on which company to go with. Thanks in advance!😊

Great questions btw I’m glad you’re security minded for the new home. Congrats! 🎉 I am a relocation manager with ADT. I have more feasibility with new homeowners where I can offer more bang for your buck. If someone is coming from your driveway for example, and the motion is activated in the outdoor camera, your phone will get a notification right away depending on internet speed (cameras only). But with the door and window contacts, if the window or door slides open, magnets will separate and the alarm is triggered. Now if windows are broken the glass break feature will pick up the sound and will also sound the alarm. But you will always get a notification to know what’s being opened at all times. Everything else customizable regarding what your motion detects on your dashboard is changeable to your preference as well.
Since you being the new homeowners, I have a credit to give for the equipment depending on the dynamics of the home. But it could not be integrated with other alarm systems due to the liability of those other companies not operating at full potential not to mention the warranty would no longer be active.
Terms like PoE are in place to decrease latency issues with multiple cameras running in your internet. We include a repeater that enhances the signal strength but also acts as an lamp outlet to automate lights when no one is home.

I’ve had ADT for my business and it has been good but I wanted to cancel it after the contract was up, the customer service just keep transferring me to different departments on hold and customer service agents doing fake accents, just to let you guys know about their predatory practices.

yeah everyone I talk to says its a very aggressive business and they are more concerned about money than satisfaction. But apparently their systems are actually solid.

I hate to tell you i had 3 incidents and cameras didnt catch a thing, the worst ones a breaking through a back window and a stolen item from step door less than 30 mins drop from amazon, I have a lawyer going through this to have adt accountable for this matter.

I just had my ADT installed. The man didn't finish putting up my stuff. He was to come back and finish but hasn't yet. That was 3days ago fixing to call them... so do be careful.
ADT had a new partnership with Google and their smart home devices I've yet to see a review on be cool to see as I'm trying to decide on adt and cpi a rejoinal company here In nc

Buyer beware I just purchased a security system with AT&T on Saturday and had several issues. On Sunday I tried to reach technical support the entire day. The only department I could reach was a new customer service. they told me I had a three day moneyback guarantee. Tuesday someone called me back from the management department and so I told them my issues with not getting through to technical support, technical support, not calling me back, and my technical issues. she was more concerned with me canceling my service, then resolving my issues she said I can’t promise that you’ll ever reach technical support but if you want to cancel, I already scheduled an appointment for somebody to remove your cameras. And you are within your three day window to cancel services. Not one time did she ever say? How can I resolve your issues or maybe I can help resolve your issues what are they?
I've been trying for 3 hours to cancel my service after 20 years of being a customer!!! It's a tactic that they must have to not answer the call.

My parents got adt installed 22 years ago in there home. They neglected to do the bathroom window my sister has been seeking out of that window ever sense she could. Now she has missing teeth and is addicted to meth, heroine, and fetenal. Trust N ADT.

Heads up, the app is AWFUL and regularly won't connect to the system, the cameras buffer and go offline CONSTANTLY (it's not my wifi my other cameras work perfectly), and the sensors randomly malfunction.....

I’m just waiting to my to finish my contract with them. Ridiculous company, horrible customer service. All the devices they install in my house went bad after 1 year and a half… doorbell the outside camera… now, try to call them

New Home Build and I’ve been with them 3 years… It’s been the worse experience ever batteries go down the security cameras always go off line I thought it was Wi-Fi but all my neighbors have different Security Alarm systems…and customer service impossible to get them to fix your problems…. In my 3 years They have replaced my door bell camera 3 times and it’s still not working driveway camera never worked… I’ve had them on Auto pay.. but as of tomorrow… I’m done… I don’t feel safe with ADT…
We all need to build a lawsuit against this company.

They lie to you. They write down what your bill will be, then you get different bills.
Horrible, 2 months with them and I am not happy at all, 2 hours wait when you call and they’re 100% rude and they are 0% willing to help, I do not recommend them not even 1%

I worked as a tech for ADT for many years. I would never use any of there products to secure my home and family. If you really care for your families saftey, I recommend you do the same.

Service and repair is not free and is ridiculously overpriced. I was just charged over $200 to reconnect my cameras to my new router. So basically every time I decide I want to upgrade my router system is going to be another 200 just to get my mediocre and overpriced cameras reconnected, which I can do myself most likely intentionally. Its waay over priced and There are plenty of new solutions for home security these days.

Sales rep just came by my house. 24/7 monitoring 5 cameras a video door bell and 28 window and door sensors. And glass break sensor.. all for 60 a month…. Sounds like a great deal but all I see is bad reviews on them… it sure what to do.

Hardly a "review", you really need to change your title to "overview". It feels like clickbait because it's more like a sales pitch. But changing that title would match exactly your content and set expectations. You did a great overview of ADT, but a terrible review of ADT.
