  • I was looking to replace the rear wiper and arm on my Vauxhall Antara. I found a complete unit on eBay for £9. Of course the nut was stuck and the arm corroded to the drive shaft. This seems to be common among all vehicle manufacturers. Same problem.
    I needed a solution.
So, here's my solution that took a little over an hour to complete.

Nice video. My wiper arm broke leaving the ally insert stuck. I made a puller after watching yours. I used 50mm box 3mm wall. It bent it to buggery! Had to cut it off carefully with an angle grinder.

Nice work! I have only the bottom part stuck, but it helps a lot to see how it fits together before I break something. Its rusty like hell :-)

Nice puller, mad props, but you made removing it a lot harder than it had to be. You could have used a channel lock, or a vise-grip to remove it in seconds

So, armed with an engineering degree (OK, 1st year apprenticeship experience) AND a workshop - You too can perform this 'simple' task!

Or you could just get a torch and heat it up for like four or five minutes and then pop it off with a pair of vise grips. Make sure you spin it clockwise though.

I brought a puller figuring it would work hahaha yeah still no rear wiper it's proper stuck only other option I'm thinking is Dremel cutting it lose enough then using the puller 😄

The arm is not corroded, there is a special tool for this job and it costs £6
