Just watched your new video, I've been busy with work and home the last few weeks and what I like about getting a tool like this is that I can use it for more than one job. Thank you for posting and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.

Silly me thought I could just use my superhuman strength to remove the arm.
*NOPE!* Just bought one of these on Amazon. Thanks for the tutorial.

The small, cheap, pronged puller, did not have enough power to pull off E36 BMW wiper arms. The teeth at the bottom both broke off, leaving a useless chunk of metal. I found a puller of your successful type, though a little smaller, that told that wiper arm to come loose in seconds after days of frustration from the cheap pronged puller.

Just get a wiper arm puller that has adjustable width 'fingers'. There's quite a few of those available online.

Good stuff bro but when would you have to remove them?

On german junk vehicles that have all kinds of plastics underneath the wiper arms. I need this right now just to remove my front shocks on my 2005 Vw jetta Mkv

Had to remove the wiper arms on this Saab to get access to the cabin air filter box due to fire wall gasket leaking. Also to get access to clean sun roof drains.

Our '19 Chrysler Pacifica driver side wiper arm started acting all out of wack. It falls behind, not moving along with the passenger side one..
Does that mean the wiper arm spindle ridges could be worn out and I have to replace it or just the nut is lose?

Will that work on all wipers or did that tool just happen to fit your wipers??

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  2 роки тому +1

That tool will work on various vehicles that have thicker wiper arms. I've used in on numerous different makes and models throughout the years. With that being said, I keep an actual wiper arm puller and the tool shown in the video in my tool box just in case.

I have a faucet handle puller that might work. Will be trying that today! Thank you for the info, very helpful.

I appreciate this video--but I have the OPPOSITE problem. The original tool you show is too bulky to fit down in the cowl around the wiper arm. 😶

Potential for damage using the Pitman arm puller due to width and the video clearly shows that it barely grabs the wiper arm.
Most likely the wiper arm would've worked had he tried to center it from the end, which he obviously didn't try in the video, instead of the side.
I could be mistaken, but I doubt it.

Do you watch a lot of crime documentaries and over think/analyze everything? 🤪 The standard wiper arm puller tool for sale at most auto part stores doesn't work for every application, including this vehicle and many others hence this vid. No matter what tool you use you risk damaging the wiper arm or wiper linkage since you're forcing the two apart.

thanks for info, BUT doesn't work on chevy avalanche or trucks.

It's better to keep on the stud, otherwise you can damage the threads (break it loose but don't take it all the way off)

That one you said doesn't work is actually a battery terminal puller NOT a wiper arm puller and neither one of them work for me there's no nuts on my wiper arms it's a closed cap all metal

yes, the pitman is definitely stronger, but it often doesn't fit under the wiper due to its dimensions, so the weaker one is better

Depends on vehicle but for the most part you just need to decide on alignment, place arm back on stud, screw nut on and then tighten down. Heres the vid for removal and install on this particular vehicle: ua-cam.com/video/t5Py0mNixwM/v-deo.html
