Fight to be strong, to be victorious, to overcome the atrocity that I've experienced. I owe to to me, my family and loved ones and for future me. God bless Jordan Peterson. He has helped me so much. Yes.. Meaning or non meaning relative to self is not only built on is it honest but are we a rational thinker who grasps it.. or are we like the Cheshire Cat and not all there? Truth is the moral of EVERY story. Truth is impeded by every fault of man. Truth is found by opposition of thoughts, doubts, dissent, the search for contradiction, and skepticism. Truth is found by knowing self to eliminate self as a bias and then to propose logical designs which capture a truth outside of self by comparison to known's or past experience. Truth is found by a single minded commitment to the responsibility of finding it which is mitigated by an open mind to the fact that not all things are a book cover version of self.. and they require you read the book for it's meaning to see the identity or meaning of it in every nuance on the flow of it's life.
Good luck to Dr Peterson with his time in rehab hope he can recover from his addiction

When analyzing someone or the idea of nihilism or a cynical disposition one could ask the individual or even themselves a question... "If you do not believe life has meaning or purpose or civil morality, then if you could create a meaning, a purpose and a moral guideline, what would they be?" Often an answer will appear. Take that and let that be your goal and aspirations for your life. Create your own meaning and purpose and your set of humanistic morals. Its easy to create no morals, no meaning or no purpose. But its work and struggle and suffering to do the opposite and create them and live them out positively. But thats why we humans are here. Thats why the universe is here. For everything to "Be", instead of silence, sheer void and nothingness. We are all Gods and Devils...ready to make heaven or hell in this world.✌

As much as I like some of the stuff JP says and especially his way of saying stuff, what I don't hear him addressing is the "'Heat-death' of the universe ... when the universe has reached a state of maximum entropy." That is the ultimate game-over for all life. Consequently all purpose, meaning, value, that we think we have that perhaps helps us get though the daily grind will be snuffed out along with us. Hence do good or kill, it makes no ultimate difference how we live our lives. In what I gather is his naturalistic point of view, the moment will come when none of us knows we ever existed and nothing is left but a corpse-universe. I sure would like JP to speak to this because when I fast forward to this end it makes nonsense of any supposed purpose JP points to for today that is supposed to get me through.

In ordinary living the phrase "meaning of" is not going to refer to a feeling. What is the meaning of an action, a novel, a piece of art? They all refer to a real message that the creator is trying to send through the creation of something. The word "meaning" both assumes and demands a creator as does the word "purpose". But because so many of us reject God, when it comes to the meaning and purpose of our own lives, we often re-define meaning and purpose to be mere feelings. So a theologian can talk about real purpose of life and real meaning while a psychologist talks about "a sense of purpose" which translates to having a feeling.

This video said absolutely nothing worthwhile to me and I didn’t even find it slightly motivating. In a nutshell, finding negative meaning is clear but finding long term positive meaning is not an objective thing. There are other things that mask this desire for purpose like conscientiousness or industriousness. The delusion that purpose can be found in the material realm. His only answer to finding purpose is to find something your passionate about, set goals to pursue that passion and make progress towards those goals. The end. It almost seems like success is the goal for life in his mind and becoming more industrious or conscientious is a potential solution to meaning.
