Has anyone ever talked to you about this? What are your thoughts? I find that this is not commonly discussed in modern medicine by is a huge component to treating someone as a whole.

I agree completely! I have just started working with a physical therapist who understands this! They are one in a million. 🙂 She stretches me, works on my fascia, and teaches me stretches. Since it's stored in the body, you can't get it out by talking about it. You have to release it with physical movement and manipulation. (And of course do things to manage the stress in your life). The ways I can tell stored stress is releasing is that during the week between PT appointments I may have a few emotional moments where I may get angry or sad as the result of something that wouldn't normally have bothered me that much (sort of an overreaction, if you will), or maybe even becoming emotional over nothing, out of the blue. Also, I am starting to feel lighter and more energetic. My physical therapist says I have been using a lot of energy staying tensed up and storing all of that stress. Now we are freeing up some of that energy.
Thanks for covering this incredibly important subject! I'd love to hear more about it any time. Thank you. 🙂

I have learned over time that there is a strong mind / body connection, that pain begins in the mind - look at people who do super human feats during emergencies and don’t feel any pain while focused on other things and the crises is averted. Sleep is also key, I notice a lot more pain when I don’t get enough sleep. But unfortunately, there still is real life pain when I have good attention to mind / body as I still have injury and the pain is helping me not become more injured. Hopefully some day I can ride a bike again, or be able to stand and walk without any pain.

The great thing about this is that you can start working on this on your own. Meditation, mindfulness, breath work, etc. it takes work but when you find what works for you. It’s much better than what modern medicine can offer.

I've experienced with this. Tight and painful in my shoulder and neck muscles.
and my doctor asked me to do the rontgen for my shoulder and he found me had an inflammatory in my shoulder rotator cuff/joint.
So I got the injection there, and my muscles pain is gone now... amazing 😍

Stress reduction is huge. Different things work for different people. Eat well, sleep well, and move are the basics.
