I purchased both the medium ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes. Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.

2:19 Heavy bags are great with the right understanding. At first I would miss a hook on the bag and almost spin around. Shadow Boxing not only gives you better balance and form, it also teaches you how to miss strikes and not lose balance. Same with these other training tools, you benefit from then all together
Shadow boxing is the most underestimated art. All these Muay Thai fighters like buakaw were poor and almost had no tools but only shadow boxing at their avail and became legends doing that only
@@kylemundy8871 true story, that's why you always wrap your wrists and learn to punch properly. You can twist your wrist punching a body too, better to learn how to hit mass properly for when you need it
Thank you. Finally, an actual video of the double end bag that I can learn from and apply. The other dudes just liked to hear themselves talk, and others just wanted to show off. You, are actually teaching. Thanks again!
Really digging this video, If I see other double-end bag workouts I notice they have it way more tight, so it bounces way less. I love to have it bounce a lot, makes my head movement solid and trains the footmovement as well. I think this is one of the best tools for boxing compared to a pretty static heavy bag. Sometimes I am just constantly training my slipping with this double-end. great tool, great video.
Hey, Shane. Just want to say that I discover your channel for about a week now, and became an instant fan. I just want to say that your teachings really inspire me to keep training, and the way you answer positive or bad comments with such humbleness is just outstanding to me. Keep up the good work man, you're amazing!
this dude is a damn monster on the double end bag I've neglected to try out the bag cause at first it moved to much for me but now I see it's more like a speed bag so ima try it out nxt time I go to the gym and keep note I only just became more of an advanced boxer I started 2 months ago. but preciate the tutorial on the double end cause my gym didn't really explain this to me at all.
I bounce a handball on my hands, tapping it at different angles as fast as I can, trying to keep it up as long as possible. If it comes towards my face I catch it and move my head out the way. It's helped me develop fast reflexes and hand speed.
I have never in my life left a comment on a UA-cam video nor was I ever planning on leaving comments coz it’s not worth my time but wow this really deserves it! I was so impressed the whole way through with your skills some of I didn’t no you could do with the bag and your coach skills! Better then most had to pay this good credibility
You are tremendously articulate and I am genuinely impressed by your videos. That you are demonstrating the skills while carrying on such a focused dialogue conveys tremendous confidence for viewers in your advice. I wish there were more trainers and teachers like you!
Excellent video!! not sure how I missed this one over the years, but I appreciate the advice and i think the heavy bag looks cool to hit but this type of work makes champions- there are a lot of variations like the mexican bag, various sizes/shapes, so you can change it up and keep your workout fresh
fightTIPS how do you know if you have a glass jaw I never really got hit so far and I don't plan on getting hit either but it's going to happen since I'm in fighting how do I know if I could take a hit or not
David Madriz gl man im an amateur fighter as well but not in mma. i ve been training for 10 years and been in hundreds of amateur fights but i dont think i want to fight professionally but still these videos help a lot im buying a bag like this as soon as possible
Love your videos !! You have a new subscriber. I had a little boxing training in high school, but now I'm 57. Watching many of your videos is like an awakening to my dormant arms. Thank you sincerely from Pittsburgh, PA
Nicely made video. the double end bag has been my favorite type solo training for the past few years and am always looking for new ideas for training on it. My latest thing is hitting it while moving in circles around the bag using specific combos (striking on the move) so I really have to time my steps and strikes perfectly. I'm not much of a higher kicker but I like to kick the rope like a leg kick.
Unreal video Shane, just what I needed to see before my debut fight in two weeks. Ill definitely put some serious work into this before that time. Thanks again coach, Nick
I don’t understand who puts thumbs down on this video! Shane saves me a lot of money learning online! I still pay for one on one with a real good trainer for mitts but these type of tips are very helpful to work on your own!
I have been following your channel and I Have seen your growing, bro I can tell you deserve all this. You are a very good guy! Keep up the goodwork and I have learnd so much of this all! When I will get my first fight I will think about everything that I have learnt from you and my trainers 💪👊
One of my favorite things after a hook is to reposition myself to the bag so that without manually changing its trajectory, it's in a straight line to me again. Gets me into the habit of always searching for a better position
Mix it up with other things harder. Thanks for the info, I love that stile of training. People are just not that predictable, so reflexes are at high demand. Great training tool. People just do not react like the ball, you will have strikes that are and are not effective. Reflex and timing are for the moment, now only!!! So practice against something more unpredictable and stern then learn to be peaceful.
Hey Shane! I've been folowing you since 2014, and just want to say thanks for the Tips! I've been drilling some techniques you taught us for at least a year and a half ( i have had no base in martial arts) I would train outdoors with no equipment. Thanks to many tips u give, I managed to build good technique ( shadow boxing every day). In Early 2015 me my bro started sparring with no equipment, just mouthpiece and palm-strikes, and we managed to get better. January 2016 we went to an MMA gym and challenged few people there. I got my ass kicked, but they were impressed how fast and how technical I was for someone who never went to a Martial Arts Gym. Now I am Confident in my skills, and maybe someday become a fighter. All this to thank you brother for what you do and to let you know that you are an actual sensei to some people who didnt have the chance to get in a gym, with no equipment! Cheers! :)
Thank you for the inspiration. Just installed it and was wondering which type of move should i work on with it . Huge thanks . Clear and useful video !
this is just awesome! I started taking muai thai classes 6 months ago, and usually I would just pass by the double-end bag, secretly angry at myself for not knowing/being able how to use it, and go for a speed bag or a heavy bag. So Shane, thanks for showing how to have fun with it!!
HZ Zheng what i've found is (i'm a boxer) these double end bags always pop, even the best quality ones, so best thing to do is get a football (or soccer ball for americans) and put it in a net which can attach to the cables. it will last you forever and save a ton of money
