Love this guy! The way he describes and explains things - you get it. I ve taken classes in different martial arts and I felt useless and lost. Tony makes it easy to comprehend and his demos support it. Just the right amount of humour too! Great content, no ego - just great tips from an very accomplished pro.

@@dxrevelations5111 Bro, he won an olympic medal at boxing and is 9-0-1 in professional fights. Nobody's claiming he's the best, or top-10 or even top-100 of all time, but you're a moron if you don't think he knows something about boxing. There's this really bad tendency of people to dismiss someone simply because they're not "the best" at something. Only one person is "the best" at anything, but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of people who are knowledgeable about a subject. Stop being reflexively cynical.

Most of the best baseball managers weren't great players, but middling-to-low major leaguers (often catchers or middle infielders). Often the best teachers aren't the best practicioners, but that's no reason to dismiss their knowledge.

Once again, terrific informative video, Tony.
Haven't accessed a Double End Bag for decades. In those days they were called Crazy Balls or Floor To Ceiling Balls. I only really learnt 1,1, 2 and 1,1,1,2, both combos ending with a Left Hook to the body ( bottom of the bag), and stepping with each Jab. I wish I had access to all this knowledge decades ago, with the slipping exercises and how to throw a precursory, modified Left Hook head strike.
Just haven't got anywhere to hang one ATM. Brilliant martial art apparatus are Double End Bags. I thought they were excellent for developing speed too.

Tony, I recently started boxing, maybe a little bit old to compete (25), so I don't mean to become a big pro, but what I like the most about the sport is the technique, discipline and, oddly, the patience it takes. I bought my double end bag today and just discovered your amazing channel a few hours ago, so I'm certainly looking forward for more. I'm a teacher at college and have a degree in education (yes, that's a thing), so I just wanted to congratulate the work you do, making all your knowledge available to us in such an easy and fluent way. It takes lots of love for what you do to be so naturally educational and clear with this kind of complex subjects, it takes a lot of work and talent too. You, sir, excel at this.

I have got a five round training session on one of these uploaded from 2014 [more like the left-right combination throughout]; using hip torque method all through, as was before I went on to torso leverage - also before learning anything about slipping, which is an excellent addition and one of the best things I have learnt. But a good alternative to that (also picked up since upload of the aforementioned video): is now & then stopping the ball using top of the head [keeping crown, spine & tailbone aligned]. Tho will probably be more applicable to bareknuckle boxing !
