He mesmerizes me with his voice - soft still so immensely vibrant, his gentility, effortlessness and an almost outwor(l)d(l)y aura on him. INTRINSICALLY a Prince he was/is. It feels like I'm about to miss him, even though I have been actually clueless about his work as he was being among living.
Rest in peace rowland see you up there soon when we all play a huge cacophony of high beauty...I was lucky enough to meet Rowland in 1980 when he toured with Bauhaus..we played football with a spongy ball in the lyceum london and i was in goal...We played before the sound check with a mixture of roadies, birthday party, bauhaus members...It was fun...Rest in peace you great guitarist and poet...
Kelly Renee Thomas introduced me to Howard's music. She died two years ago because our culture refused to help her. Kelly was nothing but a ray of sunshine. I'll always remember her painting, cross-legged with the cats laying near her as we listened to "autoluminescent" for the millionth time.
Strange that I always felt this song was sad when I learned it in music class in elementary school. I think it was mostly the words "Please don't take my sunshine away." that made me want to cry!
I miss him also...I have cirrhosis of the liver brought on by hepatitis C...drs say, with meds, I have less than 5 years, with the exception of a transplant...but living in the US, with its private health care system, you basically have to be a millionaire to get an organ transplant
Hello Charles, sorry for the delay.. I'm not sure if you feel like talking about it here...but I just wanted to let you know that I read your reply. Life is tough sometimes (or often). I'm not sure of how to proceed, hummm.. hoping you are doing ok today.
I miss this great man. he could give us more amazing songs
