Awesome video. Thank you. I was just have a "discussion" with someone who said, "actors just repeat lines that are written for them." I suppose that some do, but this proves that a talented actor brings more than just the words, they bring life to the role.

I bet Steve Carell knew he was killing it in that audition. Like when he goes back to the coffee filter after he finds out it's trash it's too perfect.
youre missing then best audition ever. The kid from E.T...Literally makes me tear up watching the kid say his lines. He is like 10 and his acting is amazing. Watch the audition.
The first time i saw Jason Momoa was in Stargate Atlantis playing a character called Ronon. This was way before Conan or Game of Throne. I could be wrong, but i think Conan the Barbarian was the first time that i saw him on a big blockbuster movie.
Whoever recorded this video is an idiot and either didn't do enough research or just decided that Stargate: Atlantis wasn't a big enough deal to be mentioned. Stargate: Atlantis was SUCCESSFUL as a TV show, while Conan: the Barbarian was a box office bomb.
Its just the camera they used. The camera for auditions in early 90s is the normal camera for for a cheap production company ten years later. Glad we know you've noticed it though and that's what you took from this video.
Seeing Jim Carrey reminds me; he is so primed for his “John Wick” moment. Not action, per se, but a good role under budget, designed to make bank no matter what. Like a slightly comedic Noir. Unexpectedly career defining.
Nice collection mate! Some real gems here. Note that Momoa had a solid supporting role on Stargate Atlantis as a techno-Barbarian trading on physical presence, which helped push him out of Baywatch zone and into contention for the fantasy/action pieces that came later.
I never understand how GOT is always presented as Momoa's big break. 5 seasons on Atlantis is completely ignored and Conan was a mainstream 100mil movie.

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gossling really didnt get along on the set of The Notebook.... it wasnt till much later that they got together. They were such a cute Canadian couple ❤
I noticed Carell in Bruce Almighty. His scene going nuts on national TV broke me more than anything Jim Carey did in that movie (which is something to say).
Great collection here. I would argue that most of these actors had decent careers before these roles (especially Jim Carrey) but many of these roles did lead to better parts.
I have no idea who that is but i did watch Dont Look Up last night and that looks like a younger jonah Hill. If so then you are most likely right. I wouldn't say that Jason Momoa's career "started" with that audition tape for Game of Thrones. He'd already been a lead character for all 5 seasons of Stargate Atlantis.
Steve Carell's ability to make himself go beet red on command is formidable
It's really easy to do. I used to do it all the time when I was a little kid.
He's a brilliant comedic actor though. Not disagreeing there.
