    I seriously prefer this song over the original "blurred lines". It's not even close.
    For Wierd Al, if you are already familiar with the Star Wars series, you *must* react to Wierd Al, "The Saga Begins". But *_do not_* watch it unless you have seen episodes 1-3.
    Other Wierd Al greats include Amish Paradise, Eat It, Fat, I Lost on Jeopardy. But there's a host to choose from.

    Once, within a week, I encountered three homonyms in DIFFERENT PUBLICATIONS used incorrectly. Palate, palette, and pallet were all used in a book and two magazines and not one used the correct version for what they were trying to say 😂. This is my favorite Weird Al song; love me some clever wordplay. I'm a grammar nerd, and one of those people from a certain generation who cringes when things are spelled or pronounced poorly. I have to constantly resist the urge to correct it. If you have a genuine learning disability that's one thing, but so much of it is just laziness.

    • @mialiahh9228

      This is also my favourite Weird Al song. It's perfect.

    • @jaredwonnacott9732
      @jaredwonnacott9732 Місяць тому +2

      Laziness like how you probably say piano instead of pianoforte, bus instead of omnibus, or fort instead of fortress?
      A lot of things that Grammer nerds call laziness or improper English are actually just natural parts of language development. We're constantly going through new vowel shifts somewhere in the country, and we're constantly adding new words, redefining old words, and even adding meaning and connotation to words that are otherwise consistent. Language is a living, growing, fluid thing that is never stagnant and always changing.
      Some things are just wrong, but not because of the "rules" so much as because they cause confusion in communication, which is, of course, the opposite of what language is supposed to do.

    • @kelqueen9998
      @kelqueen9998 Місяць тому +5

      @@jaredwonnacott9732 I agree with you about language constantly changing, and mostly I don't have a problem with that.
      Maybe laziness isn't really the word I should have used. Willful ignorance maybe. Not caring about the difference between there, their, and they're. Awe instead of awww. (Or vice versa) Expecially, pacific, could of, etc. The most recent one I've been seeing is weary instead of wary.

    As an individual who has loved to read since I was a kid I find Weird Al's grammatical humor...humorous. I have however had to restart many of my mental issues since when I was 24 I was in a car accident and I received a brain injury. I look at this as if I was given a restart and I had to relearn many things that I learned when I was a kid.

    Funny thing about the dangling participle thing. That is something from Latin not English. Also, we must remember that English is still a living language, still subject to growth and change. There is no THE dictionary for common usage. Definitions are an attempt to capture the meaning and understanding of words at that time.
