Me the entire time I'm watching this video: "How do I convince my church of 175 people that we need this speaker setup? lol"
Show them the video lol
Haha. The plight of us all.
Tell them Satan has found his way into the current rig
spend the $30k yourself. 😂
Wrapping cables in complete silence. 100 % in the feels. :)
PA sounds awesome, Mix is on point. Firts band suck lol ... hahaha!
The PA sounds outstanding.
I never comment on the bands in the videos....but i just cant not bring it up.... the 1st that played in this video are prolly highly educated music theory majors and are a troll bamd ....cause they just pulled off the impossible and wrote a full song that never for 1 second resolved at any single point ... this goes against everything that is part of writing music ...2nd thing i wanna mention is the last band ... i know they sound A LOT like alice in chains ...... did i mention they sound like alice in chains ..... those dudes were amazing
.that singer and backup singer crushed every part they sang ... the drums and guitars was tight af ..... these dudes play like a touring band ... hopfully they come to my state so i can go see them
How to compliment an audio engineer "Your mix is great!"
Pretty much!
@@chrishammillaudio Yea i guess lol ive learned so much about audio from your vids just wanted to say thanks for actualy strating this channel and sharing this i truly do appreciate it!
That right there is why I do this.
Congrats on the upgrade man :)
big ups on bassboss! love their stuff
Love it!
I am new to the channel and this brought a flood of memories of my time in a hard rock club in the 90’s. I never had to run lights though… whew 😁 And boy, when I bought new gear to upgrade the rig, it was very satisfying.
I'm itching to play there especially with the new setup going.
Reach out to the venue and hope to see you there.
@@chrishammillaudio I'll try again cuz I did a couple of times with no response but I get that they receive a ridiculous amount of bands reaching out and asking the same. But yea man, nice video as always.
Dingbatzbooking@gmail.com ask for Michelle.
@@chrishammillaudio much appreciated.
The potential of this upgrade, no longer needing to have the amp racks which saves space and also less having to drive the p.a’s high end, no longer having to crank the input gain…
It’s hard to describe again as someone just learning how the difference can seem miniature at a glance and may not seem like much but the potential I think can be huge, couldn’t you also do outdoor shows so the those stack speakers too? Also the bands in the video sounded fantastic too.
Crazy good video Chris ✌️
Yes to all of this.
Awesome choice on the SSL2!! One of the lowest noise floors out there and definitely a great value.
I love this thing. Thinking of getting the bigger ssl 12
Omg that’s an awesome rig, sound and lights!!!
Can’t kinda wonder if this has anything to do with your page???
Happy for you
Not one bit.
that kick is Perf....
Great setup, Just one of those dual 18-inch subs would provide plenty of kick. Two will crack the walls and ceiling. The mains look to be a different model than the ones you posted a link to. The most visible difference is the sides of the cabs.
The correct link is in description
Huge upgrades! Would painting the stage be a good way to go for improving the look of it or are they trying to keep that grungy look lol
I think the next major upgrade is a bigger stage.
I went to a Demo session with bassboss and at the end of the day , before i left the venue they booked in Brooklyn NY, i ran to the bathroom was literally explosive shitting all over the place. Their subs are no joke.
😂
yo!! awesome vid as always! don't find the time to always look everyone now as i'm busy recording my album;) Systems can make a huge difference... specially when upgrading from such an old system. system design has come a long way the last 30 years... and the previous system was also a bit a mix of things afaik...
i use a system of the successor of those jbl sr-4732x, the srx series. Proper Amping is key though!
maybe system needs some tuning to tame the subs?;) Interestingly, i couldn't quickly find specs about the input sensitivity of these subs...
Definitely needs some tweaking.
If it feels like there's a heavy amount of low-end would it be worth bringing down your sub amps? The direct recording of the desk felt a little harsh, you might be fighting that the low end in your mixing. Whatever works though I guess! Could sound great irl.
This was my first show on it. Can’t expect it to sound perfect and dialed in right out of the gate.
Camera compressed the audio. Low end is fine.
A lot is up to taste, obviously. But curious why you don’t use your M/C for independent sub control? I just mixed at a venue that just had the subs tied to the main LR and found it really awkward not having a meter dedicated to my subs.
Love the channel and all the hard work you put in!
Probably going to do that next. They don’t want the amp volume on the speakers messed with. Never had to before with the previous system.
@@chrishammillaudio send your LR to MAIN and SUB matrices rather, and one for stream, otherwise I think you'll find your streams will lack the low end. do all your PA processing on the matrices instead of the LR.
$30k for that while isn't cheap, it seems GREAT. Juice is worth the squeeze etc. Thanks for sharing!
So far so good.
@@chrishammillaudio yeah from the BOTB stream where the one band that should have one didn't the other night, when you'd do FOH live sound from the cam it was AMAZING the amount of FULL audio and camera shake we'd get lol. Great stuff.
Glad you liked it 🤘
How does the having significantly less gain affect monitor mixes?
It’s a work in progress I’m still adjusting. That stage is so loud it’s very hard to hear monitors carefully.
Hey, I'm also using the x32! I wanted to know if you had a solution for sending IEMs pre-fader.
Lets say I mute my acoustic on the board, it also mutes in the IEMs. I read this is a limitation of the x32 and even if you set it to pre-fader it will still not work as it's supposed to.
The best I can get is muting groups without it reflecting in the IEMs.
I'm curious if you have a solution. Thanks!
I’ve honestly never had that situation or needed to find that solution. The only thing I would suggest is see if you can go in the bus routing screen and see if there’s a section that says pre fader.
@@chrishammillaudio there is, but unfortunately it doesn’t work.
Thanks for your input, though!
Hello I'm watching you from Belgium and you're doing great work, congratulations. I have a presonus studio live sx32, but the problem is, I cannot separate mono bass, I cannot separate bass and top in the PA system, how can I do it,
I want to split evriting bass end top
can you help me? respects
Set up an aux bus with your low end instruments and route that bus out to subs with a low pass filter only allowing low end to pass, then do the opposite for the main pa.
@@chrishammillaudio
well thank you very much Can you make a video about this? It will be really useful for beginners. There are no such videos on UA-cam, or I can't find them. Thank you very much again
I don’t use mono subs, so I probably won’t make a tutorial on it.
what are you guys planning on doing with the jbls
No clue. I’ll update when I have information. If you’re interested in buying them and if the club is interested in selling, I can arrange a possible sale.
@chrishammilaudio genuine question, how does the Pa system affect your choice of input gain setting? Wouldn’t that be an amplifier setting adjustment rather than input gain?
The PA speakers themselves at unity means I need very little input gain to get a good volume out of the sources. The downside of that is less input gain means I need to boost the sends to the monitors. The stage volume is still the same as before. Raising input gain to compensate means the PA is now too hot and I have to greatly reduce my faders below -10.
It’s a learning curve getting a new PA in a room. I’m gonna have to go back to having my input gain hover around -12 to have sufficient volume for the monitors and probably just turn down the volume knobs on the speakers themselves to control house volume.
@@chrishammillaudio If you use matrices, like I just mentioned in another comment a minute ago, you can also compensate for the PA being too loud there, and still get your input gain at a good level, and faders around unity mark 👍🏼
@@dustinthiessen I’m using a matrix currently.
@@chrishammillaudio great 👍🏻 then just pull your main LR matrix back a bit, and match the sub matrix to that, so you can get a healthier gain again 👌🏼
@@dustinthiessen I ended up just lowering the volume on the speakers themselves.
Isn't that a bit pricey for Made In Malaysia speakers and essentially a d&b audiotechnik B2 clone?
For that kind of money you are nicely in RCF-land (or other better known brands) over here in Europe.
Don’t know. Didnt buy the system.
@chrishammillaudio According to the links you provided we are talking $ 22K.
There's a lot of other nice stuff out there for that money that can handle that size of room.
Again, I didn’t buy it. I don’t know what price it was purchased for.
Hi, Wich USB flashdisk is supported by X32 (format, size)?
Up to 32 GB I think and formatted fat 32
Hey what app do you use on ipad to remotely control the X32?
The X32 remote app
How did you decide on Bassboss for the PA over other brands?
I didn’t. Our chief tech did.
Do you know what was his reasons? 😄
He heard the speakers and liked them.
As it turns out, Bassboss used to be Bassmaxx, which is actually the more recognisable brand for me because of basspig's Bassmaxx ZR18 carpet-levitating drivers.
Link corrected.
Just need to get them to upgrade to a SQ 😝
X32 working just fine.
Is the hip hop night on the channel?
No, and I'll never feature them or work the shows.
