Wow, after you dialed in the mix and the worship team warmed up, I had an out of body experience! The drum mix with the Zildjian A’s, kick and snare was perfect. The musicianship was heavenly. Trying not to curse is a real struggle and I bet everyone in that church has a that issue. That’s why we need Jesus lol! Love you work sir.
Only thing i hate about these videos is how long i have to wait to watch them...im not even a sound engineer and absolutely love watching and learning these...awesome!

ye, watching the past two episodes gives a sort of good idea of how different places might have wildly different audio problems wich i find really interesting beacause theres alot of things that can be causing the problem or that can cause it-
I am so happy I have found these videos, they have encouraged me as the guitarist in my churches praise band to help try and improve our sound balance and live stream. We are a small church with a small older congregation made up of mostly people in their mid to late 70's. We operate solely with volunteer help, so the simpler the better. Our current sound-tech is dedicated, but wears hearing aids and struggles to hear feedback. We only have an old analog mixer (definitely not a nice X32), a 10 year old PC, but a really good camera(lol xD), but we make it work and get by. Still with this setup I know we have not maxed out our potential. I love all the little tips and how you explain why you are making the changes in the mix you are, I use these videos as reference before practice. I may not be able to be to fix it as well as you and it may never get truly fixed, but I am definitely going to try my hardest! Thank you, this mix sounds fantastic!

Great work! Just thought I could mention this since not many people seem to notice this. You can press the CH 1-8 and CH 9-16 to get all 16 channels across the 16 faders at the same time. Works with all the Green fader layer buttons.
The original mix sounded solid but wow, what an improvement with the A/B at the end. So much cleaner and all that clarity. I'm absolutely loving this series.

what a sound! it helps a lot with the drum shield and all of them are on their IEMs, it sounds like they are inside the studio also, instead of having loud backlines for the guitar, bass, and keys

Wow, great work! Funnily enough, my church uses both pro presenter and obs. We use obs for streaming, and pro presenter for graphics. Also, we are lucky to have a person (my boss) that went to school for audio engineering, so he knows what he is doing and the mix actually sounds really good.
I cant thank you enough for these. I am on job/experience search down here in Baltimore and these videos are filled with stuff I look forward to committing to muscle memory.

Gosh at my previous church the previous pastor had spent like 15k in audio equipment and we didn't really know how to use it. The original guy that made the cable runs died and then we had to hire someone to help us figure everything out.
I was just watching your previous mixdown meltdowns and this is a shock to see today. I Kind of want to get an interface of my own of this level but at the same time, not because it'd be a loooot of work I feel.

My poor Alesis iO2 express I think is starting to get on it's last legs because whenever I'm talking on discord while playing a high intensity game or streaming a game on discord my sound starts making a popping or clipping like sound and it's gotten on my last nerve to be honest. Because even when I've stopped all of it, but starts back up when I'm listening to music at times. It's confusing. But I will be getting a new interface when I have the chance.

I can’t express how much I like these videos. Not a sound guy but just a normal drummer. I’ve always respected sound guys but watching it in this POV makes me appreciate it more, it’s also an art and underappreciated to the audience and even the bands at times. Great videos! Such a big fan… I do a lot of this here in SA for a lot of orgs it’s super fun. The black magic atem and OBS settings can correct the delay, but that’s a CPU based solution and can vary especially over the length of a service. Heating and encoding for the stream affect performance heavy. Always have the effects on the board, that’s why it’s there. Love your work man.
