My heart wasn’t ready for Chester’s angelic voice once again
If you wanna hear someone that sounds like Chester, check out "Nico Electric Callboy prism audition". He could be a guest singer for future LP music.
@@adammercy3588 I love Electric Callboy as well 🤝
Their music is awesome and the videos lately are so fucking funny! I had never thought I'd see a mini horse with a bowl cut.
Same, hit me so hard!
I was working last night when it came out. I almost started crying in front of everybody.
I wasn’t ready for hearing Chester’s voice again rip legend
i thought it was the new singer
@@CrazeReactsOfficial They haven't had a new singer since Chester died.
@@CrazeReactsOfficial it’s Chester’s voice, they essentially just took an old demo from Meteora and made it sound good, and they did a great job at that holy shit
Came to say the same... Nothing compares
No one was ready… no one
1:53 "But i'm tired" they were not only lyrics. Chester's voice conveys true emotions and that's just next level singing
"Finding 'Lost' was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.” ~mike shinoda
The name of the song is just so unbelievable perfect... it had to be that they "lost" the song, so we can hear Chester for one more time... i hope he found the peace he deserves so much ❤
Dude I haven't cried to a song in a while, but this one made me break. It's such a beautiful song.
100% agree and relate
ONFG.
I only hope this encourages more people to seek help when struggling. Even when you feel like you're lost it just takes one person to pull you out of it
I cried halfway through it man
Same dude. I've been having a rough time lately and chester was one of the only celebrities that hit me hard. It all combined at 2am last night.
Chester changed an entire generation, not just people but the whole metal scene, and meteora just proves how they knew exactly what they were doing. Meteora is more than perfect now
Ironically, they didn't even want to make Meteora. It was a contract/label album.
Nah, no one in thrash, death, black, doom etc... gives a fuck about linkin park now or ever. The were influential in mainstream rock and rock bands who pretend to be metal
@@bengreenbank why so salty?

@@zombl337og about what?
LP was the band that introduced me to metal. It was wonderful hearing Chester singing something new.
Same. I owe a lot to Chester.
They were the group that introduced me to hip hop. It amazes me that people thought they were a metal band.
Got a tape of hybrid theory from my class mate in high school 1 day and never looked bk, best thing he done for me, also went from there to P.O.D, Limp Bizkit, A and nothing. Nickelback and Marlyn Manson. damn such a good time bk then.
@@PenneySounds You aren't alone! Started digging into hip-hop after I somehow got the bootleg demo copy.
fore me it was Ozzy Osbourne iron man and Crazy train inspired me to play guitar
Chester gave a voice to those who had no words to explain or express how they feel
It's not heavy in the sense we're accustomed to on this channel like you mentioned, but the song definitely hits heavier than anything I've listened to in recent memory. While my perception is definitely colored by growing up with the band, hearing a 'new,' fully-produced song from them with Chester's vocals is nothing short of emotional. Really enjoyed your commentary.
@@dragonballfanscantread2383 your ego is heavy
@@dragonballfanscantread2383 this is the second video I've seen you comment on now. Why bother? This seems like such a waste of your time
@@dragonballfanscantread2383Check your ears.
@@dragonballfanscantread2383 'Heavy' music is all perspective. Metallica is heavy to some people, it's soft to others.
Not everything has to be heavy to be good
Linkin Park were certainly my gateway into heavier music but still to this day no vocalist has hit me as hard with their screams as Chester.
Agreed, 100%
Same bro
Sam Carter did, to me. But I don't like new Architects that much.
The pitched scream actually does resembles Chester's in a way.
Chester's is great, but personally Karlo Horvat's screams hit hard for me.
Listen "cross off" one of the last recordings Chester made.
Linkin Park is the band that got me into heavy music
And are still inspiring countless musicians even today 💙
Both Motionless in White and Bring Me the Horizon are two examples
@@christiandauz3742 I agree
Most bands in the Vans Warped Tour lineups were inspired by them too
Same!
It's so nice to have them back
I saw linkin park on TV, after a schoolday,... back in 2001.. That launched me into heavy music.
@@strikergamer2979 Yes sir! 🧡
For those of us who were 90s kids going to pre-teens, growing up listening to Linkin Park, pouring our heart aches and feelings of hurt. This song reminds of us how we got through it all. We are now adults and we understand life even more. Thank you Chester, thank you to Linkin Park saving us during our dark times.
thats facts, hybrid theory, meteora, and reanimation pushed me through my early teen years. im 34 now but wow hearing this song made me feel 12 all over again
Amen brother. I’m 35 Hybrid Theory and Meteora changed my life. I remember to this day getting my Hybrid Theory cd for Christmas and just sitting at my grandmas house Christmas Day with my Walkman listening to every single song.
So surreal to hear Chester’s voice for the first time again. Loved the clips from past videos. Tremendous tribute to Chester!
"So surreal to hear Chester’s voice for the first time again"
You nailed it. Hearing something new from someone who passed away is a strange feeling, especially this long after. Especially I listened to so much through my childhood.
@@TrueChaoSclx exactly. It’s just wild to listen back to all the early songs and not feel like these were all cries for help. Chester made a lasting impact on the music scene no matter what genre you listened to.
@@chrisallen4636 I think that is part of why I really loved Linkin Park, because I had a really shitty childhood. Same as some of Eminem's stuff like Sing For The Moment - the lyrics hit hard and helped with not feeling like I was alone
If you're interested, try Cross Off by Mark Morton ft Chester
I'm honestly shocked that they never released this song until now. It's so good. And hearing Chester's voice again for the first time since we lost him was so cathartic. His death hit a lot of us really hard, and this song kinda offers some closure I feel. So glad they decided to do this.
Mike actually said why they didn't release this song with the rest of the meteora album. the reason is that "lost" sounded a lot like "numb" and they already had 12 songs on the album, so they decided not to release it. such a pity tho
@@ya1alka1337 ahhh I see. Yeah I can kinda see the similarity.
Check out Grey Daze. They were Chester’s first band and they have released all of their songs with him recently. So cool to hear new(old) music with Chester’s voice.
@@johnjohn2980 I didn't realize he had another band that had stuff recorded! I'll definitely check them out!
@@jonraquet6629 enjoy
I still can't believe it was actually Chester's voice, this was a massive nostalgia trip, holy hell... Honestly this just made my day, it was great hearing his amazing vocals again
The bridge into the last chorus hit me like a truck ,I couldn't contain the tears but simultaneously made me feel so happy, so happy to hear his voice again
Only bad thing I have to say about this song is that it's a shame that we'll never get a proper live performance of it.
Get the clean singer from ashes to new. He'd be the best to nail this song live
@@TacticalJester nothing that
@donkey Kong country master Trust me he is very good and he could definitely sing this very well, but you're absolutely right in saying no one will ever match Chester's intensity
@donkey Kong country master tbh From Ashes to New is pretty spot on with the vocals, it may not sound exactly the same as we would love to hear, I remember first time hearing FATN I thought it was Linkin park, Scars that I'm Hiding is the song that resemblances LP quite alot. They did cover Faint as well, and it was a pretty good cover.
@donkey Kong country master Afterdusk's vocalist could actually do justice to some Linkin Park songs. I asked them if they could cover Given Up, because I think vocalist's voice got what the song needs. If you listen their "Plastic Memories" you know what I mean.
Chester is an incredible vocalist. The most angelic clean u could ever ask for. And the rawest emotional screams even done. Chester holds back a lot in recordings but you really want to hear him scream check out all linkin park live.
Imagine this live and in the stadium with thousands of people screaming im Lost. Its a shame i could never see them live. Rest in Paradise Chester
Fuck this hurts... I'm happy we could hear one more "new" song from Chester one more time and damn... I'm bawling my eyes out...
There’s more coming
I'm crying.. 😭 It still hurts so much! I never expected to hear Chester's voice again in a new song! A masterpiece! ❤️

Linkin Park isn't even a gateway band, they are THE gateway band.
So many people started reverse-listening to their discography where they went from pop to nu-metal, making people enjoy this music, despite them thinking they never would.
I enjoyed every damn album they put out because of Chester AND the absolute one of a kind dynamic he had with Mike Shinoda and every track they ever produced.

Hopefully they have a lot of stuff, but im pretty sure we heard most of it already :(
@@Joe-xv9kd with the hundred of LP underground demos out there, we'd be surprised :) except this one seemed to be completely... lost.. and found by luck. So the 20th edition might have only demo of tracks we already heard + this hidden gem.
QWERTY will always be the best unreleased song.
Meteora came out the year I graduated high school.
Hybrid Theory was the reason I wanted to learn to play drums.
Chester is a top-5 rock vocalist of all-time; full stop.
Mike was the glue of the band.
Brad, Phoenix, Joe and Rob - abundance of talent as well as being great human beings.
One of the most successful rock bands ever...what else can you say besides RIP Chester and LP forever.
Not gonna lie, hearing Chester’s voice in a new song made me tear up hardcore. Linkin Park was my intro into the Hard Rock/Nu Metal scene and really the band that made me fall in love with music as a whole. Chester’s vocals coupled with the bands chugging riffs and melancholy tones and Mike’s rapping just enamored me making them one of my favorite bands of all time despite their style change down the road. The music video was very reminiscent of Breaking the Habit and it brought back so many memories. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I know a guy out in San Francisco that looks almost exactly like Chester, but with more hair lol, he even sounds a bit like him. Almost makes me want to believe it is him just living a new life in hiding. Linkin Park was my absolute favorite band growing up, I will always regret not seeing them live while I had a chance. RIP Chester, truly one of the best vocalists of all time. If you've never heard the song Robot Boy do yourself a favor and give it a listen, chills every time man
My aunt got me into Linkin Park in 2003, 4th grade. They made me who I am today. When Chester passed, it definitely felt like things shifted in the worst way, especially knowing I would never get to see them live with Chester. Hearing him on this track definitely broke me and I needed it. It gave me some hope. This song is gonna be on repeat for a good while on Spotify.
I still jam those 2 albums. They were ahead of their time. RIP Chester.
This song would have been a banger live. Both a blessing that we get to hear it today, but a shame that it wasn't on Meteora and we weren't able to sing with him.
One of the best singers ever, Chester still brings the feelings, Emotions, Tears, and the memories from the other side. Wow this one really hit my heartstrings, I was not prepared for this. Thanks to Chester and the rest of the awesome guys in Linkin Park. You have been and are still a big part of my life with your awesome music, Thank You! ❤
Absolutely love this newold song, it breaks my heart again but in a good way
The same
All the greats go before their time. Amazing to hear his voice again. Emotions pour out.
Meteora was the first album I bought when I was 10. Bought it in South Africa in 2003. My buddy and I fell in love with them that day. RIP Chester and my buddy ❤
Meteora has been the very first album that I bought physically, so hearing unreleashed stuff from those years and Chester's voice again take me wayyyy back. RIP to the legend
I got into Rock and Metal because of Linkin Park and Sir Ozzy Osbourne. I have such a huge soft spot for Linkin Park in my heart, that if anyone mentions it, I'm rapping like "listen to them, just listen, they are a super awesome band, and you will definitely love them" so many of my friends are Linkin Park fans cuz of me, and I gotta give credit to a friend of mine who introduced me to Linkin Park in the late 2017s, around the time when Chester died. He was a fan of Linkin Park since the Living Things era, and he made me listen to Castle of Glass, the first ever Linkin Park song I ever heard. Been a fan ever since.
Chester's vocals, the lyrics to the songs, and the band in general just mean so much to my life. I later understood that, as they helped me to get out of some tough shit of medical examinations, and depression in my life, in short, Chester and Linkin Park saved me from an endless hell, and for that, I will forever be grateful. How much I praise them just feels very less.
Hearing Lost for the first time literally sent shivers down my spine, my poor heart is just melting, trying to process the song. Rest in Peace, Chester. I, forever, will miss you.
Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, and Meteora were life defining albums for me as a young teen. So this is a very emotional experience for me.
I'll always love the way he keeps his vibrato even through the gritty belts
I literally cried listening to this when it was recommended to me on Spotify. I came to UA-cam IMMEDIATELY to see if you’ve reacted to it. I was just in time with one minute of it being posted. Chester will ALWAYS hold his place in my heart 😭
when i found out about the countdown on LP web, i got excited as fuk. Then even more they anounced new/unrelased song. I have listened to it this whole day and got a bit emotional because this band means so much for me. I also got my first tattoo recently wich is cover from Hybrid theory.
I remember being in 4th grade thinking the guy from Linkin Park had the coolest voice, just playing songs from their first 3 albums on repeat on my iPod. This makes me feel like a kid again… RIP Chester I’ll always love you brother
I will never forget the day Chester died and how I couldn't stop crying at work when I found out. I kept rewatching his emotionally driven performance of One More Light on Kimmel in honor of Cornell's death which just hit even harder. At that point in my life I didn't really keep up with LP as much but always loved them mainly from their Hybrid and Meteora days. His death rocked me way deeper than I thought it would... just a testament to how deep his lyrics and vocals consciously & subconsciously connected with me esp during my pivotal years. RIP...this was amazing to hear and the animation was beautiful, such a good nod to the Meteora days
i can see why this didnt make the full album but it slaps!
It wasn't just his voice. His lyrics were also a reflection of how he(we) felt. Any time we listened to Linkin Park, we fucking connected. The world isn't right without him😭❤️
This band got me though some tough times in my life. They’ve always been there, no matter what. You’ll never be forgotten Chester…your legacy will live on
I wasn’t expecting to cry during a Nik Nocturnal video.Linkin Park was a HUGE part of my teenage years. Hearing his voice again and listening to the lyrics makes you realize he was literally screaming out for help.😢😢
I literally did a spit-take when I got the notification. I was so confused lmao
Still miss Chester, its really weird hearing his voice in a "new" song. It's certainly a good feeling, though
This song is a gem. I know it may be because i missed new LP songs, but man...this just hits so much and so so deep. That "i'm looost" gives me chills EVERY single time he says it
I cried so hard when I heard tha for the first time: "I try to keep this pain inside, but I'll never be allright" to me it almost felt like he knew his pain was always gonna be there.
This song legit made me cry, hearing Chester's voice was such a warm feeling
Thank you Mike Shinoda for making this happen. I'm sure part of this was enjoyable for him but I'm sure it had to be hard too. Love Linkin Park they legit got me into metal and screaming and breakdowns and synth and ALLL of it!
Just for a moment it revived the feeling I got when I listened to Meteora for the first time, not only Chester's voice but also the instrumentals, the scratch tables, the youth I associate this with... Damn for a second there I felt twelve again
I was at work listening on Spotify and saw a new song by Linkin park I was completely ready for a shinoda based song, I am completely ready for it even looking forward to it, man it hurt the second I heard Chester man .. I love it, it hit instantaneously
Grew up on Linkin Park. Heard this just now and I can't function rn. Chester will always be the GOAT of GOATs
As someone that first heard LP when Somewhere I Belong released and was hooked, hearing this now is beyond nostalgic. And to hear something new with Chester, it's got tears in my eyes. Damn.
Everytime i listen to it i get goosebumps! the huge Meteora vibes and hearing Chester in a "new" song is crazy. The lyrics are extremely emotional! and as you said they got a LOT of people into metal including myself.
I've struggled with depression most of my life and, when I needed something to help me feel, Chester's lyrics and the bands song's helped. It's sad to me that Chester couldn't keep going on, but I understand a little where he was coming from.

*Bro hearing Chesters voice again in a newly heard track hit the feels*
I miss Chester so much. I had the privilege of seeing Linkin Park perform with Chester live twice. Hybrid Theory is my favorite album across all music. Linkin Park was my gateway drug into metal.
This song hit me so hard right in the heart. Lyrics are absolutely awesome. He is so missed
Chester was a huge inspiration for a whole generation who fight against pain, problems with his parents, fear of socialize with other people or just meaningless lives. Hear his voice is like... i just cant explain but i m so gratefull to listen chesters voice again... just pure respect for that man
this song is hitting so hard, so many emotions
Instant chills. Throwback to the good old times listening to their music
LP was my first ‘musical love’, it took me a good 3-4 years to start listening to them again when we lost him, but this song is amazing. Feeling very moved rn.
Lzzy Hale from Halestorm has the best sing scream right now in my opinion. When she goes into that raspy sounding scream it's pure gold. She knows it too because she uses it way more now than she did in the beginning. Also check out Big Bad Wolf by In This moment. 4:11 into the song you will hear the most blood curdling scream sequence in metal IMO. Some sick female vocalists are getting on the metal scene now too.
I saw this pop up next to In Flames on the 'New Releases' on UA-cam Music this morning. It's a trip to hear unreleased songs 20 years later.
Linkin Park's Breaking the Habit is what got me fully wanting to do A/V anything. Def the music stuff. seeing them use animation and.. just the whole thing was just awesome. so happy they put this out
this hits heavy, i grew up on linkin park from my parents and for what happened with chester it hurt a lot but this song reminds me why i love them so much even if my music choices have changed overtime
Linkin Park 100% we’re my gateway into metal.
I don’t think I’ve ever been hit by a celebrity death like Chester, the music, the feelings, the songs are the sound of my teenage years.
This just hits different and brings back so much joy of my younger years.
RIP the GOAT!
I wasn't ready for his voice at all. And these lyrics are ridiculously moving and hit a lot harder now. God this made me cry and once again just really hits deep for me as they always have.
I was a Freshman in high school when Hybrid Theory dropped and have a special place in my heart for this band. I remember when Chester passed that I was obsessively listening to them again, and, as a result, got to introduce them to my partner's oldest daughter, who was 16 at the time. It's wild watching someone else overlay their life onto the music of a different generation and still find it impactful. Say what you will about Linkin Park, the one thing they are is relatable to people who feel like they DESPERATELY need to feel like they're understood, and in that, their music is timeless. This track is just another example of that.
NOTHING has made me feel the early 2000's like this song. Like a time machine my dude. Disturbed has the new album that sounds like early 2000's but this track sent me all the way back!
If people want to hear more Chester, go listen to Grey Daze.
This was his band before LP, they found the old master tracks of his vocals and recorded music to it.
And his cover of Adele is a often missed gem

Linkin Park will always hold a very special place in my heart. They’re the band the got me into rock music, there were other bands that got me into metal music but that’s not the point so I digress. This track is a masterpiece and shoulda been played live. Wish I could hear him kick it on stage. The vocal overdub harmony part is such classic LP. Like 2 of the vocal harmonies at once brings the whole song full circle. This is some really cool vibes. LP had a really magical sound with the hybrid mix of pure industrial metal nu metal rock, hip hop , DJ electronica.
Chester’s voice will like make you question your entire existence that ever is or was lol I feel like I’m overcoming childhood trauma after hearing him song about his pain. Brings back memories both good and bad. It’s the best track of the yr
LP were the first music I heard that *I* liked and that got me into music in general, before that it was all “dad play the loud guitar music!!” in the car kind of thing, In the end by LP was the first song I heard where I wanted it, I wanted the CD, I wanted it on my old mp3 player etc..
I got full body shivers 4 times, and a tiny tear in the corner of my eye once while hearing this.. 😢
Chester, you’re why I am a musician. You’re why I love metal. My first ever dream job when I was like 9 was to be a Linkin Park singer, whatever the hell I thought that meant. Remember my brother asking me on our morning walk to school what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I was too embarrassed to admit “Linkin Park singer” so I made him guess, after 3 or 4 close attempts like singer, guitarist etc, he looked at me smiling and he guessed it perfectly “LP singer” haha, I must have looked down embarrassed and whispered a feint “yea..”
Anyway, all that to say, a lot of emotion around Chester and LP for me.. always in my heart.. ❤
I've been listening to LP since I can actually remember, and I have my older brothers to thank for that. LP has been such a huge part of my entire life and I couldn't be happier to hear this song. I'm truly grateful to LP for releasing this for the 20th anniversary of Meteora.
