Every band has tribute bands, it's nothing new but on this level it's mind blowing. This guys are getting so big that it's impossible for LP not noticing them and to be fair, they should appreciate HT because they are doing an incredible job keeping alive LP legacy in a proper way
These guys are by far the best LP tribute band. Love watching them perform with my eyes closed, and you’re both right, you’d never know it wasn’t LP.
Anybody with half decent hearing would 100% know this isn’t LP, the lead has a good voice but it’s not close to Chester.

I never heard or read mike shinoda talking about HT specifically. What he publicly said is that he sees no point in trying to find a new vocalist because no one will come close to Chester. Correct me if I'm wromg but that's what he said. He never said anything publicly about HT's tribute. With that being said, they are the best tribute band I know. Because they are the closest to them! I'm portuguese and super super proud of saying they are portuguese. They are insane! Unfortunately I had a ticket to see them live in April but couldn't make it because I was pregnant and had to terminate it 2 days prior. Guess what kept me at surface and functioning? LP, of course. If you have the shot to see them live, just go. I know I won't miss the next one!
i looked on google and youtube and google video and never seen mike talking about HT - i bet he would prefer them to do their things tho - must be hard to hear someone singing just like chester when its your best friend and he isnt there anymore - so i would get it even if i would like to hear it from mike
HT is not , in any case , trying to replace or trying to replace Chester , no one will ever be able to do so . Chester is unique , HT is simply paying a tribute ( and one hell of a tribute ) to one of the best singers of all time .

If I were Mike Shinoda, I would Let them Cover all our songs because no one can ever do what Chester's did. And this is the only band that can make Chester's proud. And why would you keep LP music while you cannot stop them to sing it. They have enough talent to take Chester's part and the instrument was so incredible perfect too.

When a band stops playing their songs because they can't and something else comes up that's slightly similiar or almost identical... It's much or less like a broken heart in a way. You love it and hate it at the same time but as time progresses, we'll just appreciate it as a sign of respect for the "Lost" ones.

I don’t think Mike or LP members should be mad about what this tribute band is doing. They are obviously fans who respect LP a lot. Yes they can create new songs and style but they don’t want to. Maybe they think fans won’t feel or like them. Sometimes people just want to see and hear something familiar than new. We all miss Chester, what these guys did for us live on stage is a gift cause we won’t see LP and Chester doing that ever. I don’t think Chester would have been angry, he would probably say something like “that’s dope…really cool….go for it” he was such a chill and humble person. I can’t see him hating these guys. I really can’t.
I'm an American living in Portugal and love Linkin Park.. All I gotta say is Thank you Hybrid theory... Thank you , Thank you.. for keeping Chester's and Linkin Parks music alive.. Going to Lisbon June 15 to see this amazing tribute... love them..
I've been to a Hybrid Theory show in July, and those guys where incredible! the delivery of each song, the vibe with the fans, the way how they could perform every single song from LP without any problem andmost of all, the way they treated everyone on backstage. They were super nice, I even had a poster I had made for a university project with me, and they signed both the poster and a tshirt. They are not only an awesome band, but they are also nice guys overall, really humble.

If Mike doesn't like the idea it's naturally to be respected but not to like them?... Come on. They are honoring LP. They always put this on top list. LP are their heroes and they honour them as no one does.
IT'S WORTH SEEING, IT GIVES YOU GOOSEBUMPS TO SEE THIS BAND LIVE. IT'S REALLY SIMILAR, THOSE WHO HAVE ONLY LISTENED TO LP WITHOUT BEING LIVE NOTICE SOME DIFFERENCES, BUT DON'T FORGET THE TREATMENT IN THE STUDIO. LIVE HAS QUITE A FEW PARTS THAT EVEN LOOKS BETTER. THE VOICE IN THE REAL, LIVE THESE BOYS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE GETTING STUDIO TREATMENT ON VOCALS, AND STILL WELL SEEN ONLY THE DJ HAS NO RESEMBLANCE TO THE ORIGINAL BAND, IT'S ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.on my channel I have some live videos I just recorded with Gopro and posted it here on youtube, it's insane

LP went to Indonesia when I was in high school but I didnt have money to buy their ticket. And when i heard about this band, I feel kinda relieved that at least once in my life I would be able to sing LP’s song in a concert. Ivo really does and look like Chester. I cant wait to see them alive in 3 weeks here in Brisbane, Australia.

I think LP fans would have to organize themselves to have a serious promoter there to take them to the US. I know they refuse at least one in the UK due to poor conditions. But, I believe, it is a delicate emotional chalenge, due to Chester memory, hard core fans, etc

@SS-yc9nu yes, I watched performances before where he had a hard sing some songs out, his voice wasn't prepared but now it's just amazing... besides we don't have to forget that we're comparing his voice from Chester's studio recording, forgetting that concert singing sounds not perfect... so it's even more surprising because he gives his best at performances.

They started doing this before Chester passed because it was so hard to bring metal bands to Portugal. Portugal also has lots of tribute bands to bands like Alice in Chains (Alice in Pain), SOAD and Slipknot, because it's just so hard and rare to have bands like those here.
Linkin Park came a lot of Times to Portugal ... I would say at least 5 times.

@fe_svn well, actually they played in 2009 in a Rock festival in Algarve, Portugal. And that was the only show that the guys of Hybrid Theory Saw them live. I remember that festival and that they were part of the line up.

Mike has never said he dont like these guys and nothing can happen without Chester.
What Mike said was if they replace Chester it has to happen naturally and that he is against Chester Hologram.
Both him and Dave have both said multiple times that they would like to continue but have no idea what that looks like right now.
The safest route I'm seeing is like how Queen made an official tribute band of theirs that also has a vocalist that sound like Freddie.

Hybrid theory are Linkin Park from another dimensions and some how they have crossed over and come here
I love Linkin Park since when they launched their first single, loved how they evolved during the years and for me they are the best band ever in their music style.
When i first heard these guys i was in awe (and i am portuguese so i was even happier). Last summer they were on a summer festival near where i live, of course i had to go and watch them live.
I have to admit that he sounds close to Chester but it is not the same, i even left before the show ended. They are good, and getting better but there are a few things that i could not get my head around.
The portuguese accent, it is just too weird when it slips a little bit into a part of the song.
Mike Shinoda is for me 50% of the song vocals. And he isn't there at all.
And probably what got me less invested in the concert was the fact that album after album, Linkin park would reinvent themselves and bring a dozen diferent songs. Hybrid theory will not be able to ever make something new that would be close to Linkin Park so it is hard to get invested in it just forn nostalgia sake.
Nostalgia is great, but i think that i went in with too much expectations. Dreaming maybe of a possible collaboration with Linkin Park as fan service or something, But it would be just too weird, Ivo tries too much to look like Chester, it is eerie.

You mentioned that Mike Shinoda doesn't really approve of the tribute band in so much as his view is that Linkin Park finished when Chesterd left us. I dont understand, how can Hybrid Theory do what they do without Mike's approval to do it? Surely Mike/LP own the songs so there must be some sort of contractual arrangement in place covering royalties etc, same as Pink Floyd and Brit Floyd? So by extension, if Mike and LP didnt want this to happen, they could just say no you cant use our songs. Surely a tribute band just cant start up and go around the world earning off someone else's intellectual property without consent?

Yes. There are a lot of banda doing tributes for big banda and some of them are playing on big arenas too for example BritFloyf (tribute to Pink Floyd) are a big thing too.
Tribute banda ONLY give live shows. They cannot for example, have a Spotify with their Version of the songs.

Please stop saying that they are exactly like Linkin Park and that we couldn't tell them apart... It isa bit insulting to many of us who CAN tell. I am not saying that they are not doing a good job at mimicking them, however this singer cannot include things like emotions and techniques Chester did use while singing. And these things are what distinguishes Chester from everyone else in the world.
You are absolutely right about his emotions he will never feel the songs like Chester did. But he definitely has the technique. He is very very good. His voice just a hour perfect during the whole show

Typically, this would infer the subject never had a chance because they didn't have the talent to do so. However, it's because Chester died, from suicide. This is quite the tragic event. However, we see the channel baiting clicks with the title, and possibly profiting off of this tragic event with clicks and views from this clickbait title.

Second, The title says "couldn't" which refers to the past. If Linkin Park wanted to perform the song in 2003 when it was decided that it wasn't gonna be released, they sure could have and with Chesters vocals it would have been a much better performance than what we see here.
Third off saying that the writers of a song can't perform it live is disrespectful af, Linkin Park could get a replacement singer for a tour or sth and perform this song.
Thus the title is disrespectful towards the band, who has infact written the song, if they wouldve wanted to play it live, they definitely could have, and with Chesters 2003 vocals it would have basicaly been better than the studio version.

The chorus sounds quite good, but the verses are painful to listen to imo. due to that effect on his voice.
