tactical pause rpg systems have been around for a very long time in CRPGs, all the classics like Fallout 1-2 and BG1-2 did this in the 90s. its cool to see it in a roguelike with more refined combat and party mechanics
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were Real-Time-With-Pause, but Fallout 1 and 2 was entirely turn-based combat. in any case yes it is very cool to see it make a return in newer games.
Not sure how big you are into crpgs, dont really see you playing them. But the pause on combat start is pretty standard with RTwP crpgs. Which this game is definitely a crpg, a pixelart, rogue like crpg mostly focused on the dungeon crawling, but crpg none the less. Usually its a setting that can be turned off but its default tends to be on for most games ive played. Game looks interesting, havent watched the whole vod, but if it has or is slotted to get an AI editor like Pillars 2, i am more than sold.
Have you tried Path of Achra? It's a little lacking graphics wise, but pretty fun when it comes to making different kinds of class builds and seeing how they turn out. It's a traditional roguelike with a twist. It's got a surprisingly user friendly UI that actually feels modern enough for anyone to get used to it.
Why does the UI look so extremely similar to stoneshard? The game has the same skillbar, same exact inventory system, even the art style is very similar and the game even has satiety?? but yet it seems to be a different def.
Yee I felt like it was a lil hard to pick up when I first tried it but I got used to it in about an hour of gameplay. Do agree tho that the pixels could be more readable maybe with white/black highlights or strokes to display the most important information, etc.
I hate hearing nonsense about subs and bits and gifts and bla bla bla during a video... If people want to support you, let them support you, stop shouting them out. Lord knows you do not need to pander to people at your level..
