Im fairly certain there is a person or an AI working behind Slay The Spire. The randomness seems too...deliberate. For instance, I'm positive that 100% of the time when I play Creative AL or Magnetism for the first time in a run, the very first card they create is Creative AL / Magnetism. Every god damn time.
I honestly love that this video is a culmination of Baalor taking the “wrong” choices (like boss swap and pbox which aren’t even wrong just unlucky turnouts) and still making things work out to beat the heart on A20. Truly a testament of pure skill, honestly so amazing. Great content, keep it up!
I feel like the PB wasn't even that bad... He got Blizzard out of it which resulted in a lot of damage, upgraded Boot Sequence which saved a ton of health and even upgraded Tempest and Overclock found quite a bit of use being 0 cost cards...
These Defect runs have been making me very happy. Love to see that Baalor is appreciating Albert more. It's not the perfect card in many situations, but being a one card scaling solution is a virtue that can't be denied.
Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards and relic in the thumbnail (Streamlines and Busted Crown): Busted Crown: (1:32) (Neow) Streamline #1: (4:54) (Floor 3 Combat) One could say this deck was... busted!
I saw this one live in the stream. Not just a masterful game but also great commentary, especially considering everything is unscripted and live. Just amazing!
if you want to improve the look of the paper gun even more you can have it at the end swap to a sprite and animation of the desk completely falling apart into paper. same with it on impact. but that would be focusing on the visual. which is important but probably better to settle when you get the rest of the overall feel and gameplay down
^^^ Cards that originally only generate character-specific cards will never get affected by Prismatic shard. So, things like Distraction and Infernal Blade will only give the card that character originally had, as well.
Silent's my favourite character. Practice draw-discard; helps many decks - but don't sacrifice early damage. Poison can work early if vs Guardian. Poison stab is underrated. Crippling Cloud is overrated.
@@lystraeus- Yeah I think my problem is floor planning, knowing when and when not to upgrade, etc. I think I've got deck building mostly down, aside from impulse picks. Ty for the advice
I have no proof for this whatsoever, and it's probably not true at all, but I feel like every time I have crown I get better cards then usual/deck-synergistic cards. Probably confirmation biased cognition.
Saying boss swap "wasn't the correct pick" after seeing busted crown doesn't make sense to me. Lowrolling or highrolling doesn't change the evaluation of the decision
If you assume he has 8000 hours in the game (he does) and knows what he’s talking about (he does), and you recognize that something he said isn’t literally correct, then you can safely assume he was being facetious when he said that.
He's not saying he made a bad decision with the information he had. He's saying it turned out to be a bad decision. Playing the lotto is always a bad decision but if you knew you were going to win somehow, it'd be a great decision.
I don't know maybe when he said "it wasn't the correct pick, probably" he's not saying it wasn't the best pick at the time he made it, he's referring to the correct pick specific to this seed. Every seed if you examined it with perfect knowledge would have a "correct" pick for that seeds perfect run, it probably wasn't boss swap for this one.
Slay the Spire randomization acting a lot like the youtube algorithm: so you liked Compile Driver, how about 10 more
"i see you have shown interest in 'ironclad corruption,' here are 10 Jordan Peterson rants"
top tier comment 🤣

@Macecard The curse!

The man is a being of sheer will, determination, and nerdy dad jokes.

Albert coming through clutch! I swear all he ever makes for me is Hello World 😂
The Gremlin Nob fight is masterclass level gameplay. Especially the turn starting at 10:10
Very slick
Yeah that was godlike play. Especially calling it like that.
That was a sweet nob

One could say this deck was... busted!
I was waiting for this one, this was the first run I've ever watched live and boy was it a treat
An insane clutch from Albert in this one. Busted Crown deck makes it to Heart, against all odds, and survives. Well played, good sir.
Up until end of act 2 only common cards! impressive
Yeah, I was about to say! This is 50 minutes of a Common Sense run on A20
11:23 Majora's Mask after becoming Majora's Incarnation:
+2
It's a niche reference but it checks out
She busted on my crown until I streamline
I never thought that the day will come where Baalor forgets that Echoform is in play. And here it is
I saw this one live in the stream. Not just a masterful game but also great commentary, especially considering everything is unscripted and live. Just amazing!
I would have never taken 10 damage to look at 3 cards in the event, but you got 3 bangers.
Amazing run.
He wanted to remember what a regular card reward felt like
Man. I love Baalor's laugh.
Love the "crowning achievement" joke at the start
decks like this would make me quit the moment time eater showed up.
What a scrappy, cool deck!
I would NEVER take dead branch there. Terrible with pyramid, throws your draw.
Amazing run!!
2:19 foreshadowing much!?
Every seed is winnable for this guy i swear

Dude picked up the Compile Drivicon. There is no escape.
The other day I had two back to back boss swaps into busted crown.
So many compul druvers!
If you picked up Creative AI from prismatic shard playing like the Watcher, would you get Watcher power cards or Defect?
Watcher power cards

在中国我们称它为“金冠严选”,毕竟除了低下限外上限高到可能是无损加费
Absolutely perfect 💯
Draw 2 Cards in the melody of Smoke Two Joints by Sublime
Surprisingly, Defect is my only A20 heart win. Trying for Silent next and I'm hardstuck.
Stop trying to make poison happen
I only miss Watcher on a20, hilarious
@@zamplify I typically don't. My best run was getting heart to under 200 with a shiv deck.

I was there when it happened and it was glorious.
Unlimited power!!!

I feel the same way. Except for the runs that you die to Nob first elite because you were only offered skills so far.
This was an amazing video to watch at 2x speed.

I think he meant it was the right pick until it wasn't 😂

Knowing the outcome in retrospect it wasn‘t the best pick. Doesn’t mean he thinks there was a mistake in the decision making.
I'm early for once!
I'm not sure why I find Pyramid so boring. Maybe because it's too strong.
Wooo I'm early today
First!
The worst boss relic in the game treated him better than the best boss relic in the game
