    Andrew this is the most inspirational and motivational vet school Q & A that I've found to date. This gives a true down to earth prospective for people. Instead of just a panel interview where people answer general questions and are unable to effectively communicate their story. An inspirational moment from the Q & A, Bridget - I initially received a C in O Chem, do not let this deter you......... This is an Awesome example because upper level sciences can be difficult for a lot of people.

    I needed to watch this. Thank you. Seriously thank you man.i just so happened to find your channel last week. I have wanted to be a vet for the longest time actually I can't picture myself doing anything else. My whole life, my family and people around me have been telling me that I wouldn't make it. My grades aren't good enough, I won't survive under pressure etc. I'm going into college in the year of 2018 and I have let these words get to me and dictate my worth. They have made me doubt myself and my abilities.but thank you for this video and your channel cause your videos have inspired me to do better and to go to vet school. Just as a laugh to those who said I can't. Any way rambling aside, thank you again! For everything! Keep making videos ! They truly are amazing :) and hey, good luck man! You are going to become an amazing vet one day

    I am SO THANKFUL to have come across this video at this point in my life. After coming across a lot of advisors and teachers with little knowledge of the process of getting into veterinary school, I almost began to feel discouraged and confused. After watching this video, I’ve realized I’ve been doing everything right. It’s such a relief. I feel so inspired. So much love for this channel 💜🐾

    Very helpful! They kept it real. None of that, "Oh, you need these classes for x, y, and z,...", "You NEED more animal hours!", "Your grades are all that matter!"
    At the end of the day, you need to be a doctor your patient can trust.
    I needed that.

    I am really glad you uploaded this video! I am currently a Junior and soon to be Senior by hours but I have decided that half way through nursing school it is not what I am passionate about and I am changing my major to Biology. I wanted to be a vet my whole life but my senior year of high school I thought I wouldn't want to be in school long enough to be a vet, turns out I am a huge nerd and I love school. Long story short, I was really happy to hear that Bridget changed her major and it did not lessen her chances of getting in or keep her from getting the experience needed to be competitive.

    I am currently a junior in high school, my plan is over the summer and through the fall semester I will intern a local vet clinic, my second semester I will duel credit with a local college that allows you to take their Veterinary Tech course with your senior year of high school, this will allow me to get my prerequisites in and when I graduate from the Vet-tech program I will be able to work at a vet clinic while taking K-state's Vet med. My passion is reptiles and exotics as well as large animals.

    I'm going to sound crazy but there is absolutely nothing else in the world I want to do. I'm a sophmore in highschool and all I do is animals. I'm in my school's animal elective course where we just learn basics and disect different animals like cats. I'm stressing over the fact that I'm not a straight A student. I know it's super early!!!!!!! I just can't belive I got a C in algebra and chem last year. I'm in FFA and very involved and I am going to try sooooooooo hard to get into vet school or else I'm going to die. Ily btw. Keep making videos like this.

      Trust me, high school is so unimportant. As long as your grades are good enough to get into an accredited university, you'll be fine. Vet schools absolutely won't care about how you did in high school. Don't stress too much at this point in your life, you'll just end up in a cycle of beating yourself up and killing your own motivation

    How you be in lifestyle like do you go to work unknow time, can you have kids, give married, and go church on Wednesday & Sunday or be full time vet and all that or you have to put all your time in this career for becoming Bio/Vet degree with a focus in large animal studies?

    Hey man, this was a really helpful video. Even though I'm a Canadian student and we don't have things like the GRE here, it did give me a clearer understanding of what to expect. I'm actually switching from Engineering to Pre-Vet Med, which I'm aware isn't a very common career path, but I've always loved animals and I'm looking really forward to the opportunity to make animals and people healthier.
    I do have a couple questions for you if you don't mind me asking:
    I was wondering, what do you do to keep motivated during vet school? I know it's a lot of hours of academic work without hands-on training and that can be really difficult. How do you keep going when things get overwhelming?
    The saying in Engineering goes "C's get degrees" which doesn't exactly motivate good study habits (I know mine aren't that great), and now that I need a much higher GPA, I need to improve the way I study. Do you have any tips for understanding information/and studying well at the university level?
    Thanks in advance! Love your videos by the way!

    • @dogtordrew
      @dogtordrew  7 років тому

      Glad you liked the video!! I'll definitely be working on videos in the future about study habits and general advice on staying motivated and dealing with stress so be on the lookout for those, and good luck with your switch to vet med! :D

    I know this video was quiet back a while but I don’t understand one thing I’m thinking of leaving school at 16 in 1 year and go to collage because I read a lot of requests for universities who apply the course as becoming a vet but I’m scared that I need the subject health and social care to go to the university so I need your advice would it be a good idea if I finished my last two years of high school in collage by picking health and social care because as much Ik there is much more options in collage than school. So after that I would go to university I’m just wondering do I really need to go to collage just to get health and social care subject to become a vet ?
